And there came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat! On that day, the Avengers were born, to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand!

Previously in the Avengers

The Avengers disbanded after the events of Dooms Secret War. Two months later a group of heroes found themselves joined to fight the threat of the Chitauri warlord Warbringer, those heroes were Iron Man, the new Captain America (Sam Wilson), the new Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Vision , the new Thor (Jane Foster), Nova, and Ms. Marvel. After successfully forcing Warbringer through a portal he intended to use to bring an army, the heroes decided to remain together and reform the Avengers proper. One of the first threats the Avengers faced was an incarnation of Kang the Conqueror, posing as a businessman named Mister Gryphon, who had secretly reprogrammed the Vision to use him as an undercover agent, playing the heroes against each other Gryphon was ultimately defeated and exiled to the timestream, while Iron Man managed to reboot Vision and purge Kang's programming.

Following the events of the second superhuman civil war, the younger members of the team -- Ms. Marvel, Nova, and Spider-Man -- left the Avengers and set out on their own as the Champions. Their membership depleted and funding from Stark Industries having dried up, Captain America recruited the Wasp and Hercules. Parker Industries subsequently offered to fund the team, moving their base of operations back to the Avengers Tower. Spider-Man also rejoined the team.

Infermation:

1. This game will be focussing on Action primarily taking place in New York City.

2. The game is set in its own continuity with its own timeline in place but based loosely off the 616 marvel verse.

3. "Homebreweds" characters are allowed.

4. Characters like Jean Grey, ARE all allowed but not poessing godlike powers i.e the Phoenix force, no "Mary Sues".

5. Characters ages and backstory's willy varies but no character under the age of 16.

6. Created characters need to fit realistically into the marvel canon 616. IE be a mutant or an inhuman, give reason for their powers.

7. Just because a canon character was in a relationship in the comics doesn't mean your PC was.  It's up to the individual players.

8. This is not a sex focused game but rather a story focussed game. However it still will feature scenes when they occur.

9.  GM ran plots and allow for character/player developed plots as well, who are encouraged to make suggested plotlines.

10. The game is "sandbox" in style.

This is a freeform game, so fight scenes shall be discussed and planned with GM approval. I.E the outcome of a fight as we are not using a Dice system to determine such factors within the story. In many superhero fights luck and chance are factors to the eventual outcome and that will be taken into consideration here.

Former villain's may have been *Reformed* and are now heroes, but you need to explain that in their bios. It needs to be a credible reason. For example is Sabertooth still effected from the aftermath of the AXIS storyline and now has no violent tendencies?

Each player may start off and submit Bios for TWO characters to start off with. But if you claim more then one character you must be willing to write double the amount expected of a player with one character. Please Don't bite off more then you can chew I myself know this from experience.

Jane Foster's mother died of cancer when she was nine years old. Following this tragedy, her father, a plumber, worked two jobs in order for her to go through medical school, exhausting himself. Nevertheless, he managed to give Jane a good childhood, never missing a softball game, forgetting a birthday or failing to encourage her in any thing she could set her mind to. However, Jane's father later died from complications from a heart attack.
She became a nurse hired by Dr. Donald Blake to assist him in his private medical practice. Actually, the crippled Dr. Donald Blake was the human identity used for many years by the Asgardian god, Thor. Jane and Blake traveled to San Diablo during a civil war between a communist faction and a democratic faction. Because of the fighting, there was a shortage of medical help in San Diablo, and several American doctors interceded. They battled the Executioner who tried to destroy the medical supplies. Thor was able to stop him and they helped the people of San Diablo. Blake fell deeply in love with Foster, who was unaware of his dual-identity. She was infatuated with Thor, whom she had not yet met in his godly identity, but took a protective attitude toward him, worrying about his health and frailty. She would regularly gush over Thor's exploits, much to Blake's annoyance, causing him to wonder if Jane would ever love a normal man like him.Afterward, Blake decided to reveal his dual-identity to Foster, but his father, Odin, monarch of Asgard, appeared to him and forbade him to reveal this secret to any mortal. Even though Odin tried for a long time to quash the romance between the two, he ordered her life to be saved when she lay dying after an explosion caused by a battle between Thor and Mister Hyde and Cobra. The world at large remains unaware of Foster's past relationship with Thor, although a few enterprising individuals have learned of their connectionJane eventually became a doctor, and working alongside Thor in New York when the Odinson was secretly using the body of EMT Jake Olson. She also became a consulting physician for Tony Stark. During the Civil War, she opposed the Registration Act and joined the Secret Avengers, treating many of the members. Some time later, she was visited by the Warriors Three to be informed about Thor's death after his battle against the Serpent. But he since returned much to the delight of Jane.

While Thor was away fighting Gorr the God Butcher, Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer. She later accepted Thor's invitation to represent Midgard (Earth) in the Congress of Worlds on Asgard while she underwent therapy, but refused magical treatments. During a battle against Nick Fury, Thor lost the ability to wield his hammer Mjolnir. The hammer remained unattended on the Moon,  from where it telepathically sought Jane out. Jane eventually gave in to the hammer's call, and requested Heimdall to take her to the hammer's location. Once there, Jane picked up Mjolnir, gaining Thor's powers and transforming and improving her physique. Since she had watched Thor use his hammer, Jane slowly learned how to use Mjolnir by example. Thor was once again a member of the Avengers. She appeared by chance in their encounter with Warbringer and subsequently agreed to help form a new official Avengers group.  Her identity was unknown to her teammates until she was separated from the hammer when she was transferred a few days into the future by Kang the Conqueror, and Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, witnessed her as she reverted to Jane. He agreed to keep it secret, even visiting her during chemotherapy so that she could have a friend to talk to. However her Cancer has since been *cured* after a meeting with  the Celestial's who told her she had proven herself as the New Thor and had much work to do.

Powers:

Superhuman Strength: As a Thor, Jane possesses superhuman strength like all Asgardians. She is strong enough to hold and lift a car over her head.

Superhuman Speed: As a Thor, Jane can run and move at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

Enhanced Vision: As a Thor Jane has the ability to see / detect things that are not visible to normal human eyes. Like opponents who use camouflage technology / cloaking device.

Death Perception: Like all Valkyries, Jane can perceive and sense the coming of Death. She can see a "death-sign" that appears at other person even Asgardian.

Mystical Teleportation: Like Thor, Jane can transport herself or person from the Earth dimension to an other-dimensional realm of the dead, like Valhala at will. She can also return through an act of will.

Flight: As a Thor, Jane can fly by using her Hammer.

Abilities:

Nursing skills: Initially Jane was a competent and effective nurse.
◾ Medical training: After years as a nurse, Jane completed her medical training and obtained a Medical degree.

• Mind Control Thor is just as susceptible as others to mind control.

Jane is a brilliant and fiercely independent woman with a strong willpower. She pursues her goals and dreams through any adversity. She is extremely self reliant and hard working. She is quite confrontations if someone crosses her line and will challenge anyone. She is sometimes seen to make choices thought of as cold and uncaring, but she cares quite deeply about others and has otherwise been trained to think fast on how to deal with emergency situations. She is often seen as outspoken, direct and very assertive.

The Ebony Blade

* The Ebony Blade deflects most magical attacks. When angled in a certain way, it can instead absorb energy directed at it. It seems mostly immune to magical effects.
* It can cut through any substance (except other enchanted weapons or extremely strong metals like adamantium), even piercing Iron Man's Extremis armor with one slash, though how much of a certain substance it can cut through depends on the strength of the wielder. The sword is also indestructible.
* The blade and its wielder are linked. The wielder can be transported to the blade's location through mystic ceremony. In a few cases Dane Whitman has been transported into the body of an ancestor to wield the blade.
* Merlin has enchanted the blade so that its wielder can be injured, but not killed. The one exception is when the wielder is attacked by a weapon forged from the same starstone as the blade (such as the dagger Merlin himself crafted).
* The link between blade and wielder means that evil acts committed by the wielder can taint the blade. If used to spill too much blood in evil acts, it will begin to crave blood, and induce the wielder to kill even more. If enough blood is shed the wielder becomes the Bloodwraith. Only a worthy person can resist it. Dane Whitman once cleansed the blade of the taint accumulated over the years by casting it into the Brazier of Truth, but it could become tainted if used for evil again.

The Shield of Night

The shield can absorb energy.

Elven Armour: Dane wears protective armor, apparently of elven design. He also possesses a necklace that can contain his armor, sword and shield and reappear whenever he says Avalon.

Strider

Dane normally rides the white winged horse, Strider, a gift from the Lady of the Lake.Strider is capable of super-sonic flight and can survive in a variety of environments (including underwater).

Amulet of Avalon Saying 'Avalon' summons his items to him or stores them back in the amulet. Calls for Strider as well.

The Brazier of Truth
This allows Dane to summon the Ghost of Sir Percy his ancestor and seek advice. He also used it to clear the curse of the ebony blade.

History:
Born and raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Dane Whitman attended university as a young man, eventually obtaining a Master's degree in physics. The descendant of a long line of heroes who took up the mantle of the Black Knight, Whitman assumed the role after his uncle Nathan Garrett had resurrected the name to partake in villainy.

Garrett was seriously wounded in a fight with Iron Man, and on his deathbed expressed his wish that his nephew should restore the family legacy by making the Black Knight a hero once again. Initially resistant to this idea, Whitman eventually took up the mantle to fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, whom he had accidentally summoned to Earth, and soon established himself as a hero.

Powers:

Superhuman Strength: US Agent is superhumanly strong and is capable of lifting about 10 tons.

Superhuman Stamina: US Agent's muscles produce far fewer fatigue toxins than the muscles of ordinary humans during physical activity. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to impair him.

Superhuman Agility: US Agent's agility and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the human body's natural limits.

Superhuman Reflexes: US Agent's reaction time is enhanced to a level that is beyond the human body's natural limits.

Superhuman Durability: The tissues of his body are somewhat harder and more resistant to injury than the body of an ordinary human. However, he is not invulnerable and can sustain injury in many of the same ways as an ordinary human. However, he can withstand impact forces and trauma that would severely injure or kill an ordinary human with mild discomfort.

Special Skills and Other: US Agent is a superb military combatant. He has also received training from the Taskmaster in combat, gymnastics, and acrobatics.

Equipment: Bulletproof costume, round vibranium shield, various American manufactured firearms, Black Mariah airship, custom American built motorcycle, custom American built van.

History: Born in Custer's Grove, Georgia, John Walker grew up idolizing his father and older brother, both members of the US Army. John himself would enlist and serve, but his gung-ho attitude and attempts to be a hero like his father and older brother rubbed his COs the wrong way and John completed his contract and did not re-enlist.

John was one of many men mustering out who were approached to undergo the Power Broker Process. Although led to believe this would allow him to become a superhero, John and his fellows were subjected to mind controlling drugs and used as a super-powered PMC. John eventually broke free of the mind control and went on to assume the identity of Super-Patriot, along with a few other like-minded individuals who had undergone the Power Broker Process, and set out to fight for true American values.

After preventing a nuclear detonation in Washington D.C., John was tapped to serve as Captain America. The pressures of the task proved too much for the man, however, and his extreme methods saw his tenure as Captain America be a short-lived one. However, John continued to work for the government, acting as a watchdog for superheroes and going after specific villains that the Commission on Superhuman Activities deemed a danger.

As USAgent John had many adventures, and frequently joined short-lived teams whenever some heroes decided that they needed to 'get tough' or take a 'harder stance' on super-villains and crimes. These teams were all ultimately short-lived projects, as the founding heroes arrived at their conclusions during peaks of emotion and not out of true conviction. Invariably these heroes would revert to their original positions, leaving USAgent as an unwelcome outlier, forced to go his own way.

Returning to work with the US Army, John spent many years in the Middle East fighting against terrorists and super-terrorists. His mission there would come to an end when he was asked by members of the US Senate to confront Sam Wilson and reclaim the shield of Captain America. Initially hesistant, John was eventually convinced to perform the task. John's superior strength initially gave him an advantage in his confrontation with Sam, but the latter man's ingenuity proved the deciding factor - Sam proved the victor when he lured John into the path of an oncoming train, which struck John and sent the USAgent flying. After John recovered from the battle, Sam guilt tripped John into joining the new Parker Industries funded Avengers. Sam's efforts were aided by a concussion induced hallucination that John experienced wherein the ghost of Steve Rogers appeared and told John - in a manner that was outrageously out of character for the man - to join Sam's team.
