So, for a long, long time I've wanted to play in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG. I've have both the Buffy (revised) and Angel core books as well as some sourcebooks, and have run stories set in my own fictional town, but I've never been able to play in the game.

If there would be a GM interested in running a deep, detailed story using the RPG rules and set after the events of Buffy season season seven, I'd love to hear from you. I'm keen to have my Slayer become a reality, especially if I can find interested and colourful fellow PCs to interact with.

Send me a message if you're interested in running the game - or if you're interested in joining it as a player. If I receive a lot of latter messages and no one steps forwards to run it, I may well just end up returning to my fictional town as a GM with a new set of stories...

It would be in Light, with a focus on the action and humor and possibly the romantic angst, roughly the tone of the series. It probably won't have any canon characters show up. High school seniors in a small town, possibly in a band. Maybe someone supernatural besides the slayer, but mostly regular-ish kids.

I haven't done many group or any system games here, but it's quite a light system.

Very excited to FINALLY getting to play Aeryn. She was made for a home game and experienced 1.5 hours of life... sadly the game was cut short and never picked back up again.

Ideas-wise we have:

Aeryn the (or rather a) Vampire Slayer.

Possibly a Scooby. Spring-Heeled Jack would be a stretch, depending on what you're thinking specifically... although we can always visit Victorian London in a later episode...

A dabbling witch could work, or someone with specific powers - sorcery in the game seems to model Willow becoming terrifyingly powerful in just a few years. The pseudo-slayer could be interesting but might be a bit close to the actual slayer. The nerd werewolf could be fun.

Zoey the shell shocked witch.  Grew up thinking she was a muggle in two families of mages and witches till an uncle blew open her gifts...

Or..

Stella the computer nerd who is dealing with being a werewolf. Maybe a huge tattoo to work on the curse?

Watch a show...you could be a mechanic/gang kid (Weevil from Veronica Mars), Gamer with gobs of off the wall knowledge, the boy/Girl Scout with surprising skills (‘how did you get silver bullets so quick?’ Shop class and my merit badge book)

Some more setting ideas (subject to general approval) to narrow things down a bit.

It's a smallish town, with an Army base nearby - Aeryn the Slayer's father just transferred there, so she's arriving in a new town for senior year. As well as the base, there's also a bit of local military history, a historic battlefield not far away. It has some other secrets as well...

The suggestion of the group being a band gives them a reason to hang out beyond mutual protection.

It's more-or-less the present, the TV shows happened, and the comic sequel seasons and spinoff books may or may not have happened but won't really be featuring. The supernatural is kind of an open secret by default. (In the later comic continuity it becomes less secret and more open.)

(This also means the Watchers aren't around. There are certainly in-the-know people who can help with the exposition, and by default I was going to include a suitable NPC so I can provide waffly exposition unless someone wants that gig.)
