Origin and Background: The man known as T'challa is the present ruler of the free state of Wakanda, a conglomerate of tribes which bonded together to found its own independence. Formerly a domain of colonial forces, Wakanda would ultimately liberate itself, becoming a beacon of independence throughout much of the world. This liberation lead to a "Domino" effect, which saw the rise of an African Union.  Following this "Reform" period, an Armistice was agreed upon by both Wakanda and Great Britain, leading to a truce. For many years this truce remained ironclad. This would change with the untimely assassination of King T'chaka. As backlash for this incursion, Prince T'challa assumed the mantle of King and organized a liberation effort abroad, applying pressure to the "machine"  (It's believed that Wakanda directly aided an insurgent revolt in the Caribbean territories, among some other things).

King T'challa seems to be the first Wakandan ruler reared with an extensive knowledge and experience abroad, he seems to have an exceptional understanding of intrigue, he is sometimes referred to as the "Wandering" king by his people. 

Powers/Skills/Gadgets:
King T'challa is an exceptionally gifted fighter, tactician and lover. He is adept at everything he puts effort to, he possess a prodigious talent without few peer, though it didn't come easily, Wakandan training is notoriously rigorous. At times, his abilities often seem otherwordly. As if he were embued with aid of Bast herself.

Appearance: T'challa is somewhat tall (6'1") man of African descent. He is characterized by his unusual vertical cat-like pupils and impressive physique, not unlike the animal his tribal clan are named for. T'challa's overall physicality is lean but solid with definition similar that of someone who regularly engages in rigorous exercise.

As the Black Panther, T'challa appears in a formal vibranium weaved suit of sorts bearing resemblance to the animal he's named after. The grain of his suit appears to have a kente pattern-like design. A signifying touch of Wakandan-African pride.

His suit is invariably black, with silver, sometimes gold outer trimming. His overall appearance is meant to convey the presence of a sleek but intimidating looking predator. ​

Personality:
Calm, disciplined, and reserved, T’Challa speaks in a controlled and precise manner, displaying little emotion and appearing generally unreadable. He can come across as arrogant, where he’s actually just confident in his abilities.  T'challa is a bit more Philosopher than Warrior. In his youth, T'challa was known for his consummate "playboy" lifestyle, he's reigned some of his "loose" tendencies in, somewhat, he is lover of adventurers, often traversing to newfound places , aboard his personal airborne vessel.

He displays what he considers to be a regal bearing, as he tries to live up to the memory he has of his father as a perfect ruler. He feels the need to be in constant control of himself and events surrounding him.

There’s little division between his masked and unmasked identities. His costume is ceremonial rather than a uniform, and neither is used as a retreat from the life of the other (like, for example, Peter Parker turning into Spider-Man if he needs time to think etc.).

In a way he has two masks. His real face rarely displaying his true self, so is really as much a mask as the Panther face. He will use whichever is best suited for achieving his current goals.

When with hero groups, such as the Avengers, he tends to quietly observe proceedings, making sure he understands all the factors in play before acting. Despite his aloofness, he’ll never ignore other heroes, whether old friends or new to him (unless of course he’s manipulating them).

He always has a certain reserve from everyone, having what’s been called “the world’s greatest poker face”.

T’Challa is dedicated to the welfare of his people and his country above all, and to leaving a legacy which can begin to come close to his father’s. It’s to this end he’s tried modernizing his country, removing the isolationist policies it had for so long.

This has caused trouble among certain factions, but he views it as a necessary step in the long term, with a global community developing which he doesn’t want his successors cut off from.

Real Name: Lord Marcus Arthur Shaw
Also Known As: Third Earl of Margrave, Co-Leader of the Imperialist Council
Place of Birth: Norfolk, England
Known Associations: Hellfire Club, Imperialist Council, House of Lords, Queen Victoria
Motivations: Influence and bring British Rule to the enhanced and supernatural
Quote: Pain is but one approach to influence

Origin and Background:
A mutant by birth, Marcus Shaw was the eldest of four siblings, all but two were not mutant themselves.  He followed in his father's footsteps and received the best schooling as well as other education he would need to one day take his father's place in the Hellfire Club's Imperialist Council.  At the age of twenty-one he was given a seat when the Black Knight retired from the Council.  For the next several years he served as his father's enforcer for the Council, seeing its policies were implemented throughout the Empire.

When Marcus's father dies, he naturally stepped into the role of the Black King, and now became the one to form and enact policy for the Council.  He does so with the Queen's insight and blessing.  Upon his being raised to the Black King he also raised his two sisters to the Council, giving them the roles of Black and Red Bishop respectively, and to have close allies of his own on the Council, and to help stop any infighting and power struggles before they start.  (OOC: Sister roles subject to change depending on other player applications)

Powers/Skills/Gadgets:
Elemental Control: Marcus has control over fire, air, water, and earth and can use them to a number of effects, such as using the earth to harden his skin to deflect weapons fire, to increase his strength, to knock over an adult male with a blast of air, to form constructs of any of the four elements, even a limited control over the weather itself.  Marcus is highly skilled with his powers, having trained and used them for the last twenty years

Appearance:
A man in his late thirties with close cropped hair and a man with a muscular build who engages in intense physical exercise regularly.  He normally is dressed in clothing of the nobility, though he does tend for more simple fashions and such with single color suits and such.  In his role of Black King he has a full face mask, and is dressed in all black attire from a long mantle coat to black silk vest and black linen shirt, with a red ascot being the only splash of color on his attire.

Personality:
Strict, and a bit ruthless, and man who believes in the future greatness of the Empire and will see any means employed to secure such a future.  He is also capable of charm, and utilizing the soft touch means of influence and persuasion to achieve his goals.

Vices:
Sadist: Marcus enjoys inflicting pain with sex, and is not capable of having a sexual relationship which does not involve some form of dominance and submission.

I saw a much worse pic of him on wikipedia. Still too old either way. I've heard a lot of clamor for him to be played by an Asian actor. And someone once even suggested Zachary Quinto for the part of Namor.

I know it's Dark horse Comics, But i feel like the  Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense(B.R.P.D.) and Hellboy would be an interesting edition to this game. bring his origin back a bit more to WW1, throw a little brass on and crank the supernatural up to full on lovecraftian levels. Could be fun :p

Bit of an update... I'm going through a wee bit of a rough patch mentally so I don't feel like I can give the game its proper attention at the moment. Nothing  serious, I just don't wanna start something and flake because I've started stuff and flaked before. These dips don't last too long and I'll still be around E as player so as soon as I feel like I'm good to go I'll holler at y'all. Thanks for all your interest, efforts, and patience. This is probably the most excitement I've seen for one of my ideas and I want to be sure I can reward that properly.
