My five year old modem is showing signs of death. I've had to unplug it to refresh the signal on average three times a day for past week. Normally this is because the cable company has an outage but this week, they are fine and it's been my modem. I believe my last cable modem needed replacing about at the 5 or 6 year mark as well.

Even if my old modem was still good, I love my new one because the WiFi signal is much better now.  :D

Are we talking a wireless modem or we talking a device the main modem for internet connections given by the ISP? I know I had a wireless modem bought in... 2004 or 2005... had to replace it in... 2016 or 2015, but was around the time "The Force Awakens" came out. So with wireless modems, it varies, could be a game console life span or sometimes a decade.
