The world whispered to Ukrin as he journeyed forward.

~They are coming~

The Mardu invaders were uncomfortably close to his sanctuary in the remote reaches of the mountains. They wouldn’t be there for some time, but Ukrin knew that the whispers could transcend time itself.

~Shhhh~

Almost indistinguishable, as soft and gentle as the wind through snow capped trees. Indeed the whispers would wax and wayne in strength, just as the moon when it graced the night sky. The cold snaked its way into Ukrin’s hood, a sudden freezing chill providing relief against the sweat of insulation. The cold grew more intense, eagerly clawing its way past the pile of furs that adorned the shaman’s body. He was getting closer.

~Ukrin, child of fire…~

The Whispers grew more clear as Ukrin found his way to the ice mound he had crafted earlier. Inside at the pool’s heart was a piece of the Dragonstorm, a furious cloud of rain, lightning, and something greater that birthed the tyrants that ruled their land. The whispers complained of their influence, and truly it was the work of Atarka and her brood that forced the Whisperers into hiding.

~Give me form, I can help~

A couple of swift hand movements and Ukrin’s furs began to drop to the snow. The biting cold found flesh and beneath it all, Ukrin grimaced. Soon only his hood remained, the rest of his body reflecting a defiant sun breaking through the clouds. The cold only grew worse as Ukrin sat, his body positioned above the pond’s center.

~Atarka would see your people extinct, she would eradicate those who wield the gift of the Storm Maker~

The cold that coursed through Ukrin’s body was suddenly countered with immense heat, and he whispered back to the voice. His soft words carried an ancient power as timeless as Qal Sisma’s mountains, and soon the icy pool beneath him gave way to water. He sank into the pool, the voices growing louder as the water began to cover his head. Though he did not see it, the ice refroze above his head, locking him within the ice.

Ukrin, Child of Fire! Is this your destiny? To merely hide and listen to the whispers of your ancestors? I am no warrior spirit! I am no Bear of Tarkir! I am the WORLD MADE MANIFEST! Give me form! Seek the Whispers of worlds beyond what you know!

The voice roared and Ukrin screamed in protest within the waters, the bubbles failing to escape as they pressed against the ice above. In moments the ritual ended, and Ukrin struggled to surface from his meditation pond. His body numb, he pulled himself to the shore to look upon a strange, yet familiar form.

The elemental he had created would bear the spirit he was communing with, yet this one glowed with power far beyond anything Ukrin had ever created. It watched him expectantly as he shivered, his body almost rejecting the furs that would keep it safe in the time to come. Finally putting the last of it on, he collapsed with a soft thud into the snow, trusting the guardian to keep him safe until he returned to consciousness.

The icy being walked with an unnatural grace towards the Ukrin, kneeling before him and reaching under his hood. He began to protest, but his voice was hoarse and only managed to chatter his teeth. Suddenly, the creature crumbled and the Entity spoke clearly.

There’s more to see.

In an instant, a soothing warmth flooded Ukrin’s body as his mind was opened to the infinity of the Multiverse. In the blink of an eye he slipped into the Blind Eternities, to awaken in a foreign world who knew nothing of Tarkir or the dragons to conquered it. Nothing of the icy winds of Qal Sisma or the rot of the Gurmag swamps. And likewise, they would know nothing of him. A being of great power. One of the many Planeswalkers who could traverse the multiverse.

Who he would meet remains to be seen.

LawfulEvil

Hello Roleplayers of Elliquiy! I’m Lawful Evil, fairly new to the forums having tried a thread to whet my appetite as I try to figure out how to get back into writing now that I’ve finished my degree! I figured I’d go with a setting that I love very dearly, and that’s the world of Magic the Gathering. If you are here, I’m assuming you play and I do not need to give an in-depth description of the many worlds that exist.

In terms of what I’m looking for, I’d like you to do the following if you’re interested!
     1. Express your interest here in a post, and what you’d like to do! I’m open to sandboxing multiple stories in the multiverse or guiding you all through a freeform story together!

     2. PM me a bio (or link to one) with relevant information! This includes race, homeworld, where you first planeswalked to, magical abilities, etc! Remember we’re freeform here, so when you write don’t feel restrained by card mechanics, we write with imagination as our boundary!

          a. That said, please have the strength to design a character with flaws, a clear goal, and ways they can grow through the story! As a general rule, your planeswalker should gain their spark BEFORE the mending. And you should avoid power-levels akin to Nicol Bolas/Ugin/Teferi.

          b. Keep in mind that by the time our story begins, you’re probably not new to planeswalking.

     3. I am looking for about 3-4 other players to dive into this with me. Should ultimately be fun.

     4. While this is posted in the Adult section, that’s because I don’t want to stifle anyone. I want this to be fun and if you and another decide that things are gonna get spicy, I won’t say no. But the spice isn’t the focus of our little adventure here.

     5. If we’re looking for an over-arching story, I’ll wrack my brain for a bit. Figure out a character and we’ll jam them together as necessary!

     6. Finally, I completely understand when life gets rolling that it finds a way to get in the way. If you need to step away for a bit, please let us know so we can keep enjoying the forum! I’ll do what I can to maintain an “Events of the Thread” doc in Drive that will be posted on our thread that chronicles (albeit very generally) our happenings so you can get caught up quickly!
*It may be of use to PM/Post your character concept first so if you need any help, we can work together on that.

Other than that, dive right in! Feel free to design your own home plane, but I’ll be able to respond better if we’re within an already established setting. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
