Scifi mech looking for women (and possibly men)
« on: February 12, 2009, 12:39:13 PM »
Hey everyone, I've got a mech war rp, that is looking for somewhere between 4 and 6 female and possibly one other male player. Here's what I have so far.

Plot synopsis:

Deep in space, and intergalactic war is raging. Two races of people, the Midlothlians and the Daingeans, are at odds over Inverness, a planet teeming with natural resources. As the war rages on, a group of Midlothian mech pilots establish themselves as vastly superior to all other Middie units. They call themselves the Shadow Blades. An elite team, they show superior tactics and strategy, thanks to the leadership of their CO, Aren Tobak.

Tobak's right hand man (as well as the only other man in the unit), is (whatever you want your name to be). Where Tobak is the brains, (name) is the muscle, as the only pilot capable of flying the MiM975, a mech that was thought too powerful to be controlled. He has had numerous opportunities for promotion to second in command, or to command his own unit, but has turned them down out of loyalty to Aren and the female second in command. While he is an adept fighter, he is certainly not the strategist Tobak is, oftentimes resorts to blasting his way out of trouble.

Roles taken-
Aren Tobak
Brutish other male soldier

Roles available:
Second-in command- should be female, somewhat assertive and aggressive.
Any potential female soldiers, as well as male soldier. 5 female spots left, will play with only 3 or four if necessary.

Please send a PM containing a detailed description of your character to either myself or Kroduk, or leave a message posted on the forum.

Strategist? Hell, Max's strategy is to shoot until he's out of ammo, then smash anything that's left standing.

The setting is custom, not Gundam or Mechwarrior or anything else you've heard of, though with a similar tech level.

Freeform. No rolling, no ability scores, no rules. Just right.

Story/plot-driven. It's not just a fancy setting for a porno. Expect combat in and out of mechs. This is not to say, however, that there won't be downtime for screwing around. Character interaction and developement is quite encouraged.

I'm interested in this, since I just lost the mech game I was going to run. I'll send along a character concept sometime later.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to start the thread for this game. It'll just be a basic frame to get us going. However, if you haven't joined yet, fret not! I'm leaving the thread open to anyone who wants to join, so just send us a character description. Oh, that reminds me; I need those from karma and rhea, or at the very least, I need a name so I can reference you in the first post. If anyone has any kind of plot points they want to do, let me know, and we'll put them in. Thanks!

Hey everyone, we are up and running! I posted the first parts of the story, so feel free to post when you feel like it. No rush or anything. Also, for anyone still wanting to play, feel free to join in the fun!

female close combat fighting mech pilot, or a female med-ranged combatant mech pilot with a small amount of training in close combat: which is better for the group?

Either or... we have what I think is close combat from Karmatrik, and Kro likes to shoot anything that moves. I tend to be a strategist, with a balanced mech that can be customized to match the reqs for any mission (since I'm commander), while rhea hasn't told me anything about her mech or it's capabilities. If you'd like, you are also welcome to enter as a male char, don't feel restricted by my requests, but if you'd like to play a female, you are more than welcome to do that as well.

Sounds good, could you tell us a little about your character? The pilot, not the mech. You can put it as a post on the thread for the game itself, its called the Daengean wars.

well she'd be outwardly aggressive when it comes to combat, and enjoys both patience and amusement with the latter repressed during missions, though testings are usually rambunctious due to her wanting to get to know the limits of what her mech can manage whilst seeing if she can outlast it herself. ^^

as for an appearance, i'm currently looking for my mech character picture. ^^

wow and damn... O-o though i'd like to ask the specifics on what kind of mechs we can have? *is hoping for a sort of near-code geas sort of mech* >.> doesn't have to be exact, it's just easier for me to explain what i want for equipment. <.<

We decided it's freeform, with no basis for the mech. Therefore, if you'd like a geas like mech, feel free to use one. If anyone else has mech specs (hehehe, it's late and that rhymed) that they want to use, let me know, and maybe send a picture of them. Feel free to cross shows and things, don't be restricted to one show for everyone's mech. And remember, we're a plot driven rp, so character development is going to be important to. Goodnight!

kay. ^^ g'night.

though what i'm thinking of for the code geas mech type is one of the basic unit mechs that are instead colored black, less physical armor, two sheild projectors on the legs, two barb active grappling lines, a short blade, a stabbing blade, joint dampeners (to restrict sound whilst active, effectivly slowing the unit down but making it harder to hear), short term cloaking device (visual), a moderate term cloaking device (electronic), and reinforced mech frame to support 'unarmed' combat.

in short, it's smaller, compact, relies on distractions; hit and runs; or stealth tactics to survive in combat.

Just a reminder to everyone, we have 3 more female spots available, and a male char who can be played as well. Just leave a post here with your character bio!

It would be helpful to character creation for you to make a template, and then collect them all in a thread in the same board as the game.

Shizen Jouzu (meaning 'instinct' if translated together) grew up with less than average grades and barely graduated from her education, soon going to the military academy and discovering her strength in close combat. With no real urge to come out ontop of her class, but yet no restraint for being the best, she tried to better herself in the areas which she would need to study through for a better future: math and science. With her studies beginning to intercede into her ability to hold her own in combat, she stopped attempting to have them seperate and would study in the midst of combat, being heard reciting formulas outloud during strafe training which included distance as well as ammunition spent per square yard of her targets. Unfortunately, her skill as a combatant was limited to close and melee combat while medium ranged tactics were able to still be supported if she wasn't the one who needed to hit anything important. With such a change from the others in the academy (being that they specialized in group tactics or medium and longer ranges) she was picked from her class by a group which was previously unkown to herself.

feel free to edit what you think would make it fit a little better, i was just guessing. ^^; also i sorta agree.

Feel free to post a character bio here, so we can know who's who, and what that who is like. If that was confusing, just answer the questions.
