Vaeashel of former House Dh'ir Vashen. House Dh'ir Vashen was destroyed in one of the many petty power struggles of the drow of the Underdark. But one child was spared. She wasn't old enough to talk, but she already showed wild magic surges. The Matron of House Aresh'vin, who was personally involved in the attack, decided to commit a final insult against the Dh'ir Vashen House, and brainwash the defenseless child into an obedient sorceress.

Vaeshael matured, and as she grew old enough to mature into an adult with beautiful shapes, well she now served House Aresh'vin and it's Matron in another way. Nothing but a broken, obedient brainwashed girl, spoils of war, although a valuable one at that since she was both beautiful and capable of spell casting. She was tattooed with marks of ownership.

An ambitious priestess of house Arash'vin figured that she had enough power eager followers to attempt a coup. But to stack the odds on her side, she decided to recruit Underdark mercenaries. With a small escort, and taking malleable Vaeshael with her, drugging her and brainwash her to serve her as her "spoils of war", she went to hire Underdark mercenaries.

An ambitious heroine from the surface was on a mission. The Aresh'vin House was starting to become too organized with raiding parties, and soon they would bring back slaves to the Underdark, never to be seen again, if they weren't stopped. The heroine had to kill the Matron, but she didn't know the Underdark really well.

After tracking a small group of drow through the Underdark, hoping to capture one and interrogate them, the heroine stumbled onto a small group of five drow. A priestess of Lolth garbed in ceremonial armor, that accentuated her curves, a warlock in elaborate spidersilk pants and bare chested, showing off the artwork that were his tattoos, two wielding crossbow, and a gorgeous drow sorceress clad only in underwear, who didn't even have shoes, her flesh showing many tattoos. Outnumbered five to one and with three spell casters, the heroine decided holding back to take prisoners was too risky, if anyone survived the fight she could interrogate them, but she wouldn't get out of her way to spare anyone. Surprisingly, it was the sorceress who still clung to life after the fight, so maybe she could interrogate her. When the drow sorceress regained consciousness, it was clear to the heroine that she had been drugged and brainwashed. Against her better judgment, she took pity on the sorceress, and decided to take her under her wing. At first, she was taking her role as the "spoils of war" seriously, trying to please a mistress that always seemed displeased with her displays of obedience, even after she helped her complete her mission. Was Vaeshael not good enough for her? But enough time far away from the constant drugging and with someone caring for her would eventually allow the sorceress to develop a personality. Still subservient and devoted to the one who had given her the first act of kindness in her life, but able to desire things and refuse others.

Basically, the idea I had was that we don't really see many female drow sub characters, but not all Matrons are heterosexual, and the drow enslave even their own. A brainwashed tool spared because of her usefulness seemed depressingly plausible, and when I realized that, I wanted to give her a happy ending.
