Spiritfox, would a male character from the Sethlans/Haephestus lineage be acceptable?  I know the Roman equivalent of Vulcan was the god of Volcanoes somewhat like Pele', but the earlier version of Sethlans and Haephestus were more purely fire and forge and metal working.  That is my interest in making a more blue collar craftsman sort of fellow, but I don't want to step on your Goddess's toes, so to speak.  Thoughts?

Hello!  Would this roleplay be open to having an initially chaste, somewhat tsundere Japanese sea dragon goddess involved?

I'm definitely open to this! Fill out the Character Sheet and shoot me a PM! :D

Considering I know Spiritfox very well and that she seems to be afk and isn’t answering my texts... >.< I’m going to go ahead and say she’d love that.

You know me so well.  ::)

That makes quite a bit of sense.. My character will not fall in that category, BUT... SirensGod, I may have a venue for your little siren in the works.  O:)

I love what you sent me in regards to this! I'll talk it over with Siren!

Sethlans would interesting I think. I have no problem having deities with the same or similar "territories" but from different pantheons. Several of the characters so far have some connection to nature. Helping or arguing with one another would give them a connection. (Imagine Hades and Osiris arguing over whose section of the Underworld was better. :P ) And with both being fire deities, I could see them being a little hotheaded with one another. lol

I like the sound of that!

You know, once Druid is done with his character, we'll have at least four characters associated with growing things. A Harvest God, the Goddess of Spring, Dionysus with his grapes and whoever Druid has. Maybe this is the kernel for the formation of the community of former Gods in the area? The four of them living in and around New Orleans, helping one another out, at least plant wise anyways, which makes the city look inviting for other gods, because there is at least a few other immortal beings around to talk to, who would know the secrets they have to keep from mere mortals?

I like that idea! I also bothered to hunt down the general spot where the meadery would be. It's just along the river, just a bit off the more industrial part of the city, and still close to the commercial/touristy areas. Seems like a good spot for a nature god to hang out by civilization.

WHOA!!

I woke up this morning to several more PMs requesting characters! That's awesome!  ;D Bare with me guys as I'm at work today and might be a little slow getting through everything!

Those waiting on me, please feel free to stay and chat and discuss any ideas you have about the story and/or setting! ^w^

Galactic Druid

That's great news! Take all the time you need, you were patient with me as I got my character sheet together. ^^

Spiritfox09

Alrighty ladies and gents, I'm still waiting on a couple people to get back to me, BUT

I think we have enough for us to go ahead and start! I'll start working on an introductory post. Does anyone have thing they'd like to discuss before we get started?

Galactic Druid

Should we plan for any events we’d like to do as a group? Or maybe have a few threads decided on for locations? I’ve never really done a group game before aside from a DnD-sequel kind of thing where we all shared a single thread. I’m not really sure how these are organized.

Spiritfox09

Likewise. I've been in one group but there were only three of us. I've seen games where they broke it down into threads for everything, but I feel like that might be a lot to keep up with. At least in the beginning. We can always add more threads later if we feel the need. Maybe an OOC thread for us to discuss as we go.

Galactic Druid

An OOC would be nice, for sure. I’m hoping to be friends with everyone!

A friend of mine was in a very successful group, it was something like a high school theme. It sounded fun, but some of the themes stepped beyond territory I tend to be comfortable with. Aaaaanyway, I know part of their success was in having some side threads where characters could write their own stories, like the careteria, the park, dorms, etc, and then more public threads. The other thing I know helped them be successful was having times where the players decided what they wanted to do and where to go, and then the occasional GM-oraganized event that brought everyone together. It sounded like a fun system, and a good chance for lots of fun things. ^^

Spiritfox09

Haha, Freyr and Dionysus can throw one hell of a party and everyone can show up. xD

Galactic Druid

RipTide

Oh, I’m certain you will have the opportunity to do that, Druid. <3 I think Durga’s club would benefit from having a thread of its own, but we can discuss in OOC!

What Does a Siren Crave? === What Does a Siren Prefer?

Spiritfox09

Well, Freyr can call in a favor and she can supply the entertainment. That would get Siren there, who would bring Poseidon, no doubt.

Galactic Druid

This is great! Fair warning though, guys, Norse gods party hard!

IrishWolf

*Dionysus appears with more wine bottles in hand then should be possible and pockets that might be filled with less than legal party favors* Did someone say party?

RipTide

*Durga unleashes her army of strippers* Even if no one said it, who cares?

What Does a Siren Crave? === What Does a Siren Prefer?

Spiritfox09

What better way to start off a story than with the most epic party in history?? xD And it would be a good way to have everyone in one place to meet each other or establish relationships that already exist.

Galactic Druid

That's honestly a fair point! Well, Leif's Longhouse would be happy to host!

tangerine

A party sounds like a good place to start.  Would all characters be already identified and invited, or there could also have party crashers (whether intentional or accidental?)

Spiritfox09

We'll all have to decide who knows who already. I imagine the party would be open to all non-mortals at least. I believe most everyone has their characters already in New Orleans, even if just arrived. I think mine (Apep) is only one who hasn't arrived in New Orleans yet. I can see him showing up and sneaking in the back door to see what the commotion is about. But crashing the party would be a personal choice I think.

Spiritfox09

So, I want to do a vote then. Who's down for the party idea?? :D

Wyatt

Sounds like the way to go, and it is New Orleans after all so when isn’t there a huge party?  Maybe something Mardi Gras like?

Hehe, the main ways I could think of getting our characters together would either be a common interest or a common threat.  So I'm good with doing the former in the form of a party.
