So, kickstarter backers by now should have their hands on the Origins text, with hopefully Hero not too far behind.

Anyone planning to run a game?

It's winter and I'm still getting over the flu.  I'd never be able to handle running a game, but I'd be very happy to play.

I'm still working through the rules myself, I haven't had a lot of time to go through it properly yet. I may end up running something later on, but I'd like to play for a change :)

With a little luck we should have the Hero level rules now before the end of the month.

Fair enough. I imagine your 1e game is enough work on its own.

Not so much the work as I'd prefer to be able to play Scion as well as run it.

Any news on when the official books come out?

There was an update yesterday which said Origin and Hero are both in "layout", the phase of production where text is placed into books and arranged with the art. I'd guess they should be fairly close to finished by that.

Layout usually takes a month or more, but less than three months.

Color me very tentatively interested. I did back the KS, but I skimmed the draft of "Origins" and wasn't 100% impressed. The GM and players make a big difference though.

But the PDFs are not anywhere for purchase other than if you are a backer. I was going to buy Andy a copy of Hero so he could GM. The only thing on DriveThru however is the Errata.

I only picked up Origins.  Didn't realize they were two different books until it was too late.

That's not necessarily a problem. You can always start with an Origins level game and progress to Hero over time.
