Millennia ago, the Gods battled against the primordial Titans, defeating them and locking them away from the world. We're coming into the final climactic scene in the current storyline, with the fate of tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of innocent lives at risk. Once this one wraps up, the Band will be rising into the ranks of Demigods, and finding all new places to get in trouble in.

Not overly impressed with the WW2 pantheons. Anything from the regular pantheons should be fine. Non canon I'm willing to discuss.

Perfectly acceptable.

Writing back story to link characters generally works, but it's not a requirement. It does overcome that initial awkwardness of adding the new character in when they've already previously worked with members of the band before.

To keep them on par with the others, you create them at hero level, spend XP, and then once we finish this story up we use the rules in the Demigod book to bring them to Demigod level.

I'm inclined to say no, since I have elements of Atlantis in some of the adventures, and plans to develop it further as we go along. Other non canon made ones I'm willing to discuss.

In or out of character? In character, probably a couple of days. IIRC the plan was to catch up with the Novak's, but there was also discussion about taking down the poachers organisation. OOC we can start meshing back stories once people have a solid character concept to work off.

I have no issues with multiple characters from the same pantheon. If you have a favourite, don't feel you have to leave it if someone already has a character from that pantheon.

Heck, if two characters with the same parent are different enough that each has their own niche, I have no issues with that either.

Hello, all. I'm the one interested in playing a Scion of the Shen, but undecided on the parentage, partially because my intention is that his divine parent was one of the lesser Shen rather than one of its luminaries, and perished along with his birth mother long ago in a battle with a Titan or powerful Titanspawn.

While it's still a sketch of an idea, I'll leave what I've got so far here for anyone to peruse, if they're interested.

a Scion of the Shen/Celestial Bureaucracy. A child orphaned in a disaster in China or Taiwan almost two decades ago (or a little more than two decades), in truth on triggered by Titan involvement. The Scion was the son of a mortal and a functionary of the Celestial Bureaucracy not powerful enough to be among the greatest of the Shen, the latter of whom died trying to protect their mortal paramour and their child from the Titans. Said functionary was a friend of one (or more) of the Eight Immortals, and that member/s of the Eight performed the visitation. The Scion would, ideally, earn eventual adoption from one of the big names of the Shen in play.¹

In his mortal life prior to their visitation, the Scion was adopted by a high-profile glamorous Hollywood power couple, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, who have a habit of adopting those orphaned in the wake of tragedies both natural and fueled by human conflict. (Potentially one or more of his siblings could also be Scions, even of other pantheons?)

My ultimate plan and his ultimate goal would be to bargain with the various Pantheons for access to his ability to Divinize Kuei, the eighth Taiyi boon, once he can master it, allowing him to turn ghosts into immortals. He would use this to turn the greatest among the fallen heroes, Odysseus, Diarmuid, Cu Chulainn and those like them, into immortals that could turn the tide of the fight against the Titans.² This is very much a long-term ambition, as Divinize Kuei isn't available until Legend 9 – apotheosis to Godhood.

<sup>1 Since he'll be on the cusp of ascending from Hero to Demigod, by the point he joins the band, he'll already have been adopted, so I'll need to figure out who adopted him.

Potential trials the Shen put him through to prove his worth:
• Rescue Foo dog puppies and/or Foo lion kittens from a ring of supernatural animal traffickers.
• Investigate Titan/Titanspawn involvement in "the natural disaster" that resulted in the death of his birth parents and report back.
• Investigate other "natural disasters" that orphaned his adoptive siblings for Titan/Titanspawn involvement and potential divine lineage of adoptive siblings.
• Investigate the Church of Scientology cult of Visualize (potentially a front for a Titanspawn cult, potentially just really manipulative mortals) that has its sights set on recruiting high-profile celebrities (like his adoptive mortal parents and siblings) and/or Scions. Subsequently interfere with them and ultimately build enough evidence to warrant an official governmental investigation.

Background: here is the point form of it I'll send you more when I get to work (working nights til New Years and its eating into my gaming time).
-came over to America illegally with his mom when he was 9, the smugglers basically extorted them and forced Michael to steal to pay off their debt/mom worked in a factory
-eventually found a way to expose the smugglers to the police a few years later/they got deported back to China
-Michael joined the Army (learned to fight/horrible with guns/joined the military police to fight corruption)
-Xi Jinping (or whatever leader you want) was looking for people to join his Anti-Corruption campaign, Michael's service record spoke for itself and he became an investigator
-he gets setup during one of his investigations and Nezha visits him saving his bacon
