Heya all,

I've got a new idea that I'd like to share with you all. This is a very different to what I would normally write, but I suppose that doesn't change the fact that my On's and Off's remain the same.

What this role is:
It's about humility. (Or perhaps that is just humiliation?)
It's a little bit sexist and it's about a power shift.
It is about a fall from grace for an uppity girl political intern who thinks she knows it all
It's about a sexy just-out-of-college girl(maybe even two?!) and a older cocky political guy (or two).
It's about the bad guys winning (well, I suppose that depends on your perspective).
Perhaps it will even be a little ridiculous - I'm hopeful that this might go slightly further from my last adventure into political stories and it approaches parody, but I know that's something which people can struggle with.

What this role isn't:
Romance (nothing I write is romance, you're barking up the wrong tree... don't you guys know me by now at all?!)
Light, and fluffy and lovely
Hugely plot driven and deep (okay, there is some plot, but I'm not kidding anyone, this one is 60% smut, it really is)
A political commentary (well, at least not a serious one)

So, here is a very short excerpt to whet the taste buds:

Quote
"No, this can't actually be happening! What about my job?!" the time almost felt like it slowed down as Alexandra processed the news. She had been looking forward to her internship from the moment that her dad had managed to arrange it; the chance to work in a big government office! She'd signed on the dotted line, given up her plans to hit Europe with her friends, and now it looked like it was all in tatters. Could she really be expected to go and with the "other side", would they even have her? Alex was far from certain she wanted to even find out. She was against pretty much everything which the "Regressives" - as they were known - stood for. After all, they had openly joked during the election about winding back some womens rights and equality legislation!

"Alex, I'm pretty sure that the internship is not going to change on the back of this election result!" her dad's response was almost bitter-sweet. She knew he was less than delighted about the whole outcome of the disputed election, but he was stoic as ever about the result. "Technically you're working for the office of the representative, not the actual representative. This shouldn't change that!"

"Dad, if they make the changes they were throwing around during the election I don't know if I ever want to work in America anymore!" Alex shot back, frowning deeply at the reality of the change, her eyes darting back over the final - and very surprising - election numbers as she digested the results. She had never truly been that political, but this election had left her rather energized, and it had been her first chance to vote. Now was she really going to work in the office of a "Regressive Party" congressman? It seemed too crazy to be true...

... but how bad could it be?

So what is it actually about: (just in case none of this makes sense)
A snooty early 20-something girl gets a summer time internship - though her father - working at a significant government office. However, the party which she voted for, and which she expected to work for, lost. Now she has to work for a congressman/senator/representative who is very much on the other side of the political spectrum. In fact, his party are the most traditional and sexist party the country has known for a long time. His attitude to women, and to interns in particular is initially simply frustrating; but ultimately will her contract and the changes that the "Regressive Party" put in place to employment conditions for women result in a change in her attitude as well as her political "position"!?

This is just a seedling of an idea at the moment, and it's definitely a pretty open story right now. Hopefully it'll be at least a little silly, smutty and fun. If you're interested then drop me a message! :)

Hey all,

I'm looking to start something up with this plot idea. I don't need it to be something serious and edgy, and the idea is very open for interpretation and development. Let me know if you're interested...
