Pickings have been slim in Waterdeep lately. Most everyone has been investing their time and money in ventures to Chult. Rumors abound that resurrection magic is failing and those lucky enough and wealthy enough to have been brought back from the beyond at all are slowly wasting away. Everyone has always accepted that death was a natural part of life and that when the appointed hour came, so be it. That hasn't stopped people from being a bit panicked that they could just simply end from some random quirk of chance, like a brick from the third story of a building, or slipping down some wet stairs. That perceived safety net was now gone, and those with the affluence and the influence are going to figure out why, come hell or high water!

Chult isn't in the cards for you for now. Its hot, the jungle is humid, and if the fauna doesn't eat you, the flora surely will while you sleep. You might have decided to go, but since you've been dungeon diving some of the deeper parts of Undermountain, you didn't get the news until now, and the first three waves of adventurers already left more than three weeks ago. By the time you would show up, the price of everything would be inflated and this resurrection sickness will already be dealt with... No, best to try and pick up some rumors of new dungeon veins opening up or maybe trying to be better position for the next crisis instead of chasing this one.

The Yawning Portal Inn always has a seat for a regular, especially if they have coin, and its always a prime hub for gossip and rumor, though the crowd has thinned out lately, more elbow room at least. As you sit and mull over your beer on what to do next, Durnan, the eternal barkeep of the establishment stands across from you at the bar. "Normally, I'd just keep this to myself, and if you asked, I'd ask for some coin, first. But you've always tipped well through thick and thin times, so maybe I'll let you in on a few rumors that have been popping up a bit fresh lately." He leans in conspiratorially, "There's rumor of a new dungeon that's been found. I say new, but this one seems beyond ancient. A large hill in the Kryptgarden Forests to the north, its raised up some forty to sixty feet from the surrounding area and then leveled off like someone scooped off the top of a hillock and and decorated with large obsidian cairns on top. I know right? No one arranges burial places like that, not even the Netheril did." Durnan leans in a bit more, getting an eye full of your chest as well, "On top of that, the guy that told me about this place, he paid with this coin here." It was a large disk of gold, almost too large for a coin and thick as well. If this was an old coin, it was remarkably well preserved and the face and back had exquisite detail of a skull and fist, you'd doubt Waterdeep could mint coins with such detail. "I've been alive for a long time, but I've never seen a coin like this."

Talking with Durnan a bit more, you suss out that this might be a pretty solid lead. Whoever found the dungeon told Durnan they wouldn't return, they were lucky to be alive after the cave in at the entrance killed their strongman and a pit trap did in their cleric. "Be careful if you head that way. Whoever built it seems to know how adventurers think and how to best deter them."

I've gotten ahold of the 5e Tales fom the Yawning Portal book and its got a few classic adventures in it, one of which is the original Tomb of Horrors module. I played the first way back in middle school with AD&D and let me tell you, it was pretty bullshit and insta-deth riddled, but that was AD&D and the DM was pretty upfront about the lethality of it at least. Now that its been updated to run with 5e, instead of instagib, its more like take 5d10 bludgeoning or 2d10 piercing and another 8d6 poison. It will mess you up. But after a few deaths, you learned how to approach the dungeon. It's a thinking person's dungeon, you won't be able to brute force your way through it like most stories and printed adventures.

Ok to the meat of the matter.

Hello, my name is NotoriusBEN and I've been a member of Elliquiy for quite a while, but this is probably the first or second thread I've ever made for soliciting a game or stories. I'd like to run a game of the Tomb of Horrors but instead of being impaled and eviscerated, I'd like to play it out as a hentai trope with all the fan service involved. I'd like to try this adventure out with one ~maybe~ two lady players that'd like to get up to some smutty hijinks of tackling a dungeon full of sex traps and being nerds and adding dice to the mix. It might even be better for just one player to have two girls statted up so that we don't have to wait for other players to respond to things.

And the reason I asked for girl players? That's just how it is. I don't feel comfortable RP'ing sex stuff with other guys.

Some of the things that'd happen probably happen: NSFW IMAGES!!
Being raped by monsters like orcs and goblins. yep.
Tentacles? yep.
Cursed Items. Yea
Corruption machines and torture devices? Yea, those too.
Oozes? yep. same as tentacles.
Body Tattoos that burn with lust? yep you got me.
Undead? No. blech. kill those.

What about the Evil Big Bad at the end? isn't he some kind of undead?
Yea he is, but I figure I'd turn him into something else. It is a kind of undeath, but one that he can restore himself to the living.
He wouldn't be this

I'd like to hash over what a potential writing partner wants out of this as well. Its not just my way or the high way.

If you are interested, go ahead and make a character or two. Being Level 8 and having a couple magic items will give them the tools to have a chance at exploring this horrible place. I look forward to hearing from those of you that are interested in this.

Character Creation Rules: (it would be wise not to pick pure combat feats and spells. get some tools)
-Legal Options (ie Books I own and I know what's in them) Player's Handbook and Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Tomb of Annihilation
-standard 27 point buy
-level 8
-2 magic items (one rare weapon or armor, one other rare magic item or gear)
Here's a quick reference list of magic items

Portraits can be whatever art style you want, though photographs are pretty blegh.
Luis Royo, Frank Frazetta from the western end to Masamune Shirow, Amagasahigasa and Lokman Lam on the eastern end.
I'm well aware these artists have tons of skimpy clad girls, but you don't have to pick from them. the run of the mill Pathfinder and D&D pics work too, but I just wanted to point you into a direction for pics.

edit**
Since the character calculator OrcPub has been stripped of damn near the entirety of its functionality, I guess its back to Mythweavers or looking for another character calculator. >.>
Xanathar's Guide to Everything is coming out in a couple of weeks in hardback so I'm grabbing that soon. Im pretty pumped about it even if Artificer and Mystic are not in it...

Ixy

I'm working on a couple character concepts for this game, if you are accepting them.  We can discuss preferences and the like once we get to a reasonable middle ground, if I get to a starting point this evening... Just wanted to express interest.  Thanks--

Damn, i would kill for something like this in Pathfinder.

It's adaptable easily enough.

Phaia

are you allowing Sword coast things? Bladesinger? Cantrips? backgrounds? etc

Also what style of art are you looking for? I have anime but kinda prefer things along Luis Royo's style?

I am rather interested in this.

Question on the magic items, what are the restriction on that? I assume you wouldn't allow us to walk in with a legendary magic item.

Y'know, I should have the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide since I set this in the outreaches of Waterdeep, but I don't have the book... guess I'll get it this weekend.

I was also gonna suggest orcpub as a character builder, but that is getting shut down really hard by WotC because they wanted to monetize it and the weekend I was able to play with it, it was clearly better than anything WotC could put out, but IPs are IPs and as soon as you try to make money without a license that's bad news bears. So i guess its back to mythweavers...

Definitely interested in this, though I'm not sure what kind of character I'd like to make quite yet.  May fiddle around with 5E's spellcasters.

NotoriusBEN

I'm going to take it a lot of guys didn't read the OP thoroughly.

rikka

This is an all female players game, so tough luck for us guys.  :P
Whatever the outcome, it's on you.

I'm interested in this, and I even read the OP!

E: I did some work on a character that I think might be fun, a Paladin/Sorcerer. I ended up building her on orcpub2 after doing some poking around, and it seems like it'll still be available when they comply with WotC's takedown requests. Her background is on the sheet.

Thanks to all that posted and PM'd me.

I've got three solo games running so that's gonna be my limit for now. I'll bump the post if I feel like I can do more.

Two players have up and dissappeared for a couple weeks, so im putting out feelers again to see if any lady players want to roll dice and explore a smut filled dungeon.
