Ooh I will be working on a character today. To be fair though I am running it to learn the system on here with one player and a GM NPC but they haven't even begun, apparently the two characters decided to start doing naughty things while waiting to get onto the station, would that put me out of the running, I understand if it does.

I would likely be making an android of some kind I really like them.

SINless

darn sex always getting in the way of adventure.   ::)

No. As the adventure is widely available, Im not precluding people who have read it. I'm just going to assume people here are grown up enough not to metagame or use ooc knowledge of the plot.

Tremerette

Ok so it's tough to still find a wide selection of starfinder/pathfinder pictures... and I found this Korra/Tron mash up picture so that derailed everything. Getting there slowly with my character. Will figure out what gear they have later.

Gonna be pretty cheeky and plan to spend a good amount of credits on their armour and weapon, though I was looking through and there's some awesome stuff for computers and other bits and pieces; tech, magic, hybrid and personal camping stuffs.

Luckily my lil ratdood can't carry all that much, so that should help me when making the list up! xD

I went for the illumination infusion on my character's weapon, it's pretty nice you can get a low level upgrade like that.

I couldn't find anything about increasing the strength bonus to damage from a two handed weapon in the rulebook so left it out as they may not have kept that rule on.

SINless

no. they didn't keep that in sadly, though knowing Paizo it will come back in one way or another.

Background

Radokama Komerinskiss was born on Vesk Prime into the noble house of Kirilenka, a family of weapons designers and manufacturers that was part dynasty, part corporation. Her mother's second cousin was the head of the house, so while she didn't quite grow up in decadent luxury, she was surrounded by both wealth and exciting weapons prototypes. She was quite popular at school as a young teenager for her ability to bring interesting (and violent) new toys to show off.

Growing up in such an environment, it didn't take long for Radok's technical expertise to display itself. She was taking apart and rebuilding weapons and other gadgets by the age of six, and was helping her parents in their workshops long before she finished her formal schooling. Her keen mind was matched by a powerful body, but what she lacked was business acumen. If she worked for her family business, she would spend her life chained to a workbench, and at sixteen, she wasn't ready to make that choice. So, instead, she signed up for a tour of duty with the Vesk peacekeeping force, hoping to use her strength and skills to make a name for herself, and make a difference in the empire as well.

Military life worked out well for Radok. She lost her left arm to a bomb planted by feline terrorists on Vesk-6, but her custom-built cybernetic replacement just gave her more places to integrate new gadgets. She never got the full weapon training afforded to the regular troops of her squad, but she learnt a lot about the proper application of technology in a combat setting. She built her own combat drone over the course of her tour, patterning it after the angels that were often revered in the temples she visited, and occasionally witnessed summoned in battle.

Now, at the age of twenty-one, Radok has finished her tour, but is still not ready to settle down. She has taken her pay and her gear and set off into the galaxy, heading for the Pact Worlds in search of mercenary work, adventure and new experiences.

Upgrades on weapons or armour are an option. I'm for sure giving my Ysoki the Second Skin armour, which has decent armour values whilst keeping dex pretty unimpeded for my build. Probably will save up for an armour upgrade though, I plan to take a laser gun and a kinetic gun, I'd hate to take a shooty character then we go up against an enemy my Ysoki's one gun has trouble with.

I'm currently doing my list now. I know roughly what I want, it's just making sure the bulk and credits fit into the list. It's also gone quicker than I thought it might, despite the tons of options, weapons and armour are expensive and 1000 credits means only some lesser other items can be grabbed. Bulk as weight also keeps lists small, which helps.

Hi,

I'm going to pull myself out of consideration for this one. Seems like there are more than enough people, and I don't have the book yet anyway.

Yours,

euanthe

HopeFox

Yes, I've noticed that starting weapons and armour are pricy. I wanted a melee weapon and a ranged weapon for both me and my drone, plus my armour, and that took me way over 1000 credits.

So I reconfigured Angel to use a tactical doshko instead of any ranged weapons, which is pretty brutal, and I just have a laser pistol and my claws. Next level I can rebuild him for different weapon options, which is a very cool feature.

Going to edit in my gear list presently, which will lead me to finishing details.

I'm not too happy where the gear got me to, though I think I'm covered in multiple bases. I'd hate to be in a situation and not be able to help out in some way.

Character sheet is fully complete, a bit rough-shod in formatting, though it's all there at least.

I tried to give a decent backstory and for my first character I'm hoping he does alright. ^^;

SINless

sorry I've been absent. Busy few days. Will catch up over the weeked.

As a aside, anyone seen the header on the reddit? https://www.reddit.com/r/starfinder_rpg/

Made me laugh way harder than it should have.

This is good stuff right here;

I know we're doing the Adventure Path here, though for people running their own games at home, Traveller's Patron tables are a neat way to generate a scenario on the fly. :)

Muse

i think Im getting a h ang of this .

is anyone pitching a serious medic?  I have a kind of cool idea for a doctor with a needler, who switches between sediatives, toxins, and medecines.  :)

Corvus' Human Operative character on page 2 of this thread has a decent medicine roll (+6) and a basic medkit.

However, you can probably go more specialised, getting an Int mod of +3 and some Science skills in there etc with medical/biological science gear to make up a serious medic character for sure. There's loads of poisons and serums to pick up too, like you said. I recommend the Lv.1 healing serums for 50 credits.  ;D

Muse

*Grins*  We're thinking in the same viens, Wander.

Now look at this trick.  I plan ofr her to use a needler with a variety of injections--including some that she shoots her _friends_ with!

Go for it! ^^

'Scholar Type' nets you a cheeky +1 Int and quite a few races have beneficial scores for that kind of build. :)

SINless

So, as far as I can see:

Angie, hopefox, wander, tremerette, corvus have given full sheets.

Re ZL and muse have given at least partial interest. Several others have voiced interest. I will leave it until Friday, then choose the 5 characters. So feel free to send in a sheet if you have not yet.

If I can work it, and there is interest I might ru a second table later on.

Re ZL linked a sheet hosted at Mythweavers in a post above too. I haven't looked to see if it's finished though.

Taeon Ilnominae
Damaya Lashunta Outlaw Technomancer

Profile

  • Hair Color:  Green
  • Eye Color:  Lime
  • Skin Color:  Gray-green
  • Height:  5' 4"
  • Weight:  110 lbs
  • Gender:  Female
  • Orientation:  Bisexual
  • Alignment:  Chaotic Good

Description

The easygoing and contrarian Lashunta girl stands generally shorter than most others of her kind, or humans for that matter.  Her entire body has a subtle green tint to it, or less subtle in the case of her hair and eyes.  For that reason she tends towards darker colors that complement her skin, or some instances of brighter colors that stand out at times.  She has a slim build, but is relatively athletic looking depending on how many layers she's wearing.  She gets a certain enjoyment out of playing the fool only to turn around and prove (yet again) that she's frequently one of the smartest people in whatever gathering she's found herself in.  This lends itself to sometimes inscrutable sarcasm.  Her Spell Cache takes the form of an intricate series of subdermal circuitry that runs along her cheekbones, brow, and forehead appearing as faint glimmers of metal just beneat the surface of her skin.  They join together into a small nodule just below the base of her neck, fused to a crystalline core.

Background

Taeon was born on Castrovel and lived in one of the Corporate dominated city-states.  She began her living in the city as a freelance statistician for various company enterprises.  Understanding markets, the ebb and flow of free-trade currencies, and the various trade dynamics were easy enough for her to analyze and prepare reports on for her employers.  It helped to pay for her continuing education into technology and magic and their theoretical fusing.  She began to develop her own spells as she continued to work, figuring out how the various intricacies of the arcane and technological interactions.

The work paid well but it was decisively boring.  There was certainly interesting things within the numbers that she played with, but the ultimately purpose of them wasn't interesting.  Of course it also exposed her to a variety of trade secrets and she began to sell to conflicting companies for a meager profit.  Usually she left a few key details here and there out just to keep her own information advantage.  The more she dealt with the shady business of information brokering, the more exposure she started to have to more criminal elements of the planet.  It wasn't long before she decided that it was time to go exploring off-world.

She traveled a fair bit, stopping first at Absalom Station to get her bearings and run a few quick games for some spending money.  She met up with a few of the local gangs and other criminal organization representatives before she left Absalom to continue on a little farther.  She took a detour through Diaspora where, as luck would have it, she ran into the Free Captains.  Joining the organization--if only in a very loose way--she joined up a ship that was headed to Akiton to run a more involved snatch-and-grab.  They needed someone with a little more technical experience, so she tagged along.  The job went off with only a few minor snags, and she gladly took her cut and decided to stay behind on the planet for a little while.  She dipped back into her former occupation again for a little while before deciding it would be best to move on once more.  She decided to return to Absalom Station to "vacation" for a bit, or maybe find a few more honest jobs for herself.
