Chasing Dreams

Hey there.

My printer decided to stop printing. It will print when I run an alignment test and a print quality diagnostics page. The color cartridges work, but the black ink cartridge doesn't. There is ink in all the cartridges. I've tried to print word documents and pdf's, but the paper is blank.  I have also cleaned the printheads and cleaned the printer.  Does anyone know of a solution? Or is it time that I buy a new printer? This is the most inopportune time for my printer to act up.

Thank you in advance for any advice!

As in the black cartridge doesn't print in the alignment/diagnostics?

Have you tried a new ink cartridge?

If you have a printer with a separate head, it will likely be cheaper to buy a new head.

The black cartridge doesn't print at all.  I have to pick up a new ink cartridge in the morning. It's a newish cartridge in it that I got shortly before I moved. Unfortunately, the printer I have is one that does not have a separate head. ><

If the new cartridge doesn't work, I might just get a new printer since there are a lot of sales going on.

Thank you for the reply. :)

What make of printer is it?

Chasing Dreams

It's a HP Deskjet 3520. I found out this problem I'm having with it is a malfunction common to this model.  Buying a new ink cartridge won't work.  The printer head isn't supposed to be removable either.
