Salutations all! I already have a small group of players approved for play but I thought we could open it up to the community as well. The game is a free narrative hybid of the franchises Pathfinder, Dead Space, and Cthulhu. The game will be a survival horror tone with adult themes, and caters to most any fandom. You can play a character of magic or tech, melee or ranged combat, whatever you choose. Please post character sheets here for discussion and approval and once I approve your character feel free to post it in the World Introduction. Feel free to get creative with your Job/Class, skills and feats, and we can discuss them prior to finalization.

Name -
Job/Class -
Title/Affiliations -
Race -
Age/Description -
Short Bio -
Personality -
Skills/Abilities - (Pick 2- Something your character is 'exceptionally competent' at)
Feats - (Pick 1 - A feat is something you can only accomplish because you have a specific skill set.)
Weapons - (No one will have weapons to start but feel free to add them in anticipation of upcoming battles.

Please check out the world introduction if you have any basic lore questions and of course feel free to make up people/places/organizations as you see fit. My only requirement is that your character start on either the arriving transport ship or already aboard the space platform listed in "THE STORY BEGINS" section in the world introduction page. And as always if you have any questions, suggestions, recommendations, please don't hesitate to throw it up here.

Name - Daruvir

Job/Class - Lore Master

Title/Affiliations - Witness of the Kleio Order

Race - Half Orc

Age/Description - A woman appearing to be in her mid thirties, standing at 5’6 with what seems to be an average healthy build. It is somewhat difficult to tell with her long grey robes, augmented with a black tabert lined with silver, the symbol of the LoreMaster Order intricately stitched into the back. A single eye looming over the pages of an open book, with small runes that seem to move and even glow as the light changes. A thick belt of leather holds the garments all together, with boots of a matching material making her steps light and silent. The tint of green in her skin and her small underbite give away her heritage of an Orc, offset by the gentle curves of her face and kind hazel eyes. At first glance her shoulder length hair appears to be a dull brown, but in streams of light flashes of red can be glimpsed as well. Despite wearing it down, not a strand appears out of place, the gentle waves and scent of jasmine hinting at the great care taken to maintaining the locks. Another scent carries itself with her, the smell of old books, conjuring with it the images of the Great Library. Perhaps it comes from her heavy looking duffel bag slung over her shoulder, despite the option to have her luggage transported directly onto the vessel she seems to have chosen to keep this close at hand despite its bulk.

Short Bio - The daughter of an Orc slave and a human, Daruvir was rejected at an early age by peers on both sides of her heritage. The Orcs saw her as a weakling, while the humans feared her potential to be a mindless savage. With no one to turn to for guidance, Daruvir retreated into books and the knowledge held within them. Her aptitude at absorbing and reflecting upon her readings caught the attention of a Lore Master travelling through her province. Ever since she has been among them, working her way from a transcriber to becoming a Lore Master charged with witnessing historically significant events herself.

Personality - Polite and well spoken, though often times she would rather keep company with her virtual documents over people. She doesn’t open up to others easily, often mistaking good will as an attempt to deceive.

Skills/Abilities - Quick Study, Physical Endurance

Feats - Historic Recall

Weapons - Magnetic Gloves - originally used for moving heavy objects without the use of machinery.

Rathmus

-Rathmus Stigle-

Job/Class - Augmentations Surgeon
Title/Affiliations - Ship Doctor serving aboard
Race - Elf
Age 38
Short Bio - Rathmus, a youngling by elf standards, has always been a part of the prestigious Stigle family. The Stigle's have remained in the upper echelons of society due to the efforts of late engineer Ebernon Stigle, Rathmus's great grandfather. Ever since then, all the Stigle men, immediate family and distant, have been engineers. Rathmus enjoyed spending time with Ebernon when he was in the last years of his life, confined and bed-ridden. Rathmus was still a child much of this time, learning from Ebernon how to create simple toys and anything else he could muster in the moments he could spare being able to sit up. After a few years, with death looming close, Ebernon spoke with Rathmus after the rest of the family had said their goodbyes. He expressed great joy that he was almost of age to go to the  Veltwen Academy, a finishing school with an especially robust engineering program. Rathmus choked back tears, promising Ebernon he would follow through with his request. Ebernon's eventual passing weighed heavily upon him largely in part to the love and respect he held for him; though there was another piece of him that ached for he knew his last promise to him was a lie. Rathmus had already been accepted into Velten, but it was under a medical school scholarship. Rathmus knew early on he didn't posess the aptitude for invention to follow in his father's footsteps, or his grandfather's father for that matter. Medicine was still a noble profession, and it struck him as his calling after the Turian invasion of Veldiss Colony in R.D. 2718. He saw horrendous images of Humans, Orcs and Dwarves of the destitute colony horribly mangled. From then on, Rathmus wanted to be a renown surgeon that would specialize in body augmentation, so he may replace limbs and other things vital to quality of life.
A decade has passed since his graduation from Veltwen. Now, Rathmus Stigle is one of 5 surgeon assistants to Dr. Ellie Grothwal. He has agreed to come on a special mission with the promise he could soon become a lead surgeon with Dr. Grothwal's recommendation.

Skills/Abilities - Artisan level medicine, Augmentation
Feats - Triage
Description - Rathmus is outfitted in an elvish surgeon uniform for low-survival/augmentation missions. In case he has to perform triage on a planet surface at any given moment, the suit is air-tight and temperature controlled. It could be described as a modern plague doctor look with a snow white latex suit underneath that covered his head where his mask could not. Over the latex is a black carbon fiber trench coat with the sleeves stopping before the forearm. On the right sleeve is a red + symbol cradled with with mithril vines to show he was an Elvaan doctor. Under symbol were the letters AUG-S, standing for augmentation surgeon. The coat fastened itself together with snap-in buttons that went down to groin length. His boots we're also black carbon fiber that stopped just below the knee, with cyan glowing stripe on each side that acted as a power supply to the micro-machinery on the sole of the boots. On the sole, small circular plates were on the heel and on the transverse arch that served as weak magnetic plates in case of gravitation loss during a surgery (they are not strong enough to stand oriented in an anaerobic environment like space). Upon the only part of the head the latex did not cover, an ornate plague doctor mask rests. The nose, eyes, and opposite ends of the forehead were layered golden plate atop of a red foundation that made up the majority of the mask. The screen that made up the eye sockets glowed cyan, as well as the interior of the re-breather. When in a normal state, the eyes were slitted horizontal by default, but could also me made roundish and simulate blinking and emote for personability. The right-eye of the mask served as reality augmenter that was able to highlight, isolate, and diagnose visible problem areas. When in surgery mode, the right eye rounds but adjusts smaller when toggling zoom. The left-eye acted as live video transmitter and receiver, for the purpose of allowing the patient to be visible from all angles when operated on by multiple personal. The left eye is slitted by default in both casual and surgery mode. The re-breather can be turned on or off in cases where airborne infection or micro-biotic invasion are prevalent, with a small port under it for an independent air supply to be connected; though oxygen tanks do not come standard for surgeons. The right arm of the latex have silvery machinery embedded in the forearm. The machinery allows hands free holding and tool swapping, acting as a futuristic swiss army knife that places tools into the hand and folds into itself when not in use. The left arm has silvery cuff that also folds out, but into a vice-grip to hold a body part firmly or clamp something off without restricting the use of the left hand.

Posting my interest here!

I will reply later with a character sheet. To confirm, is this going to be a sandbox free form game, or wil the game be guided down a particular story by the GM?

Pinethefae - Your character looks good, please include a character image with your character and post it to the game introduction.

Rathmus - Your character is pretty close to good, please work on image sizing and spacing. If you need some pointers just private message me. Also I want to ask about your feat (triage). Would this in context mean your character is especially good at diagnosing and treating physical injury?

RedLobster - Both. For the first act I've got a straight forward horror story ala dead space or Alien but once the PC characters clear that the game will likely switch gears to be a more open character driven narrative as the players try to navigate the stars with new knowledge of dark and terrible things residing on the fringes of the galaxy.

Triage in this case pertains more to the ability to treat multiple people in order of whomever is most mortally wounded first. Sort of like a combat medic, but I don't want to be overpowered and be able to work under live-combat conditions. Just want to excel in dealing with the aftermath.

Sorry for the delay, I was just wiped after work the last two days. Game opener coming soon. Pine please post your full character sheet on the introduction thread, Rathmus I'm sending you some formatting edits but your sheet is almost good to go and I will update the header of this thread with a link to the game once it's up.

Pretty jazzed about this game. I've been thinking about the magic and science balance a lot lately as a result. It reminds me of the tabletop version of Rift, never got the chance to play but the concept was super interesting.
