Uncanny Avengers[RPG]

The Red Shadow

Wolverine gives a eulogy at the funeral of Professor X, which is held at the Jean Grey School, while Havok visits Cyclops in prison to discuss Cyclops' actions as the Phoenix. Afterwards, Captain America and Thor meet with Havok, where Captain America offers him the chance to lead a new Avengers squad. They are attacked by a lobotomized Avalanche and unite to defeat him while saving as many civilians as possible. While paying her respects to Professor X at his grave, Scarlet Witch is confronted by Rogue about her role in everything that has happened to the X-Men and the mutant race. While arguing, they are attacked by Red Skull's S-Men, who defeat them both and steal Professor X's body. In his lair, the Red Skull is seen removing Professor X's brain as part of his plan to gain the power to "eradicate the mutant menace".

While looking for survivors after Avalanche's attack, Wolverine questions Captain America's choice of having Havok lead the team and Thor vows to resolve the mutant conflict. Meanwhile, through a televised appearance of "Honest John, the Living Propaganda", Red Skull is able to make certain people kill their mutated friends. In addition to this, Rogue is seen escaping after being captured by the S-Men and Scarlet Witch is tempted by Red Skull to repeat the events of House of M. Rogue attacks the Scarlet Witch and they fight until they both discover the lobotomized body of Professor X. Red Skull arrives and reveals that he has fused his brain with Professor X's brain. Red Skull also reveals that he is a clone of the original Red Skull that was created in 1942 and held in cryogenic stasis in the event that Germany lost World War II.

Using Professor X's telepathy, Red Skull provokes ordinary citizens of New York into joining the S-Men in a mass assault against even potential mutants and force Scarlet Witch and Rogue to allow themselves to be attacked, even managing to take control of Thor after Red Skull had Honest John take the form of Odin to manipulate him. When fighting Wolverine, Red Skull has Goat-Faced Girl negate Wolverine's healing factor so that Thor can land a cataclysmic blow on Wolverine. However, Red Skull is unable to completely control Captain America, and an attack against him disrupts his powers long enough for Rogue and Scarlet Witch to break free.

As the Scarlet Witch fights the mind-controlled Thor, Red Skull once again tries to tempt Captain America into joining his anti-mutant crusade. With some help from Havok, Scarlet Witch removes Thor from the battle allowing Havok and Rogue to aid Captain America against the Red Skull overpowering him until Dancing Water saves him. With the people around them free, Havok tells them that the attacks on the mutants wasn't their fault. Back at the Avengers Mansion (the base for the newly coined Avengers Unity Squad), Captain America and Havok look at leads to find the S-Men and Havok expresses doubts over his own leadership. The Scarlet Witch attempts to start again with Rogue, who refuses, stating that she is joining the team to honour Xavier and keep an eye on Wanda. Thor tells Wolverine that he hasn't failed Professor X's dream.

The team makes their debut as the Avengers Unity Squad (which also contains Sunfire, Wasp, and Wonder Man as the team's latest recruits) during a press conference that debuts them. The press conference is then crashed by a resurrected Grim Reaper who attacks the Avengers Unity Squad while claiming that he is now unable to die. During the fight, Rogue absorbs some of Wonder Man's powers and seemingly punches Grim Reaper harder than normal which apparently kills Grim Reaper.

Apocalypse Twins

In 1013 AD at a Scandinavian inn, Thor is in a bar fight when he is attacked by Apocalypse, who acts to safeguard the future due to information given him by Rama-Tut. Thor finds that Apocalypse is wearing Celestial-built armor that can withstand the powers of a god. Thor returns to Asgard and demands an audience with his father Odin, but when Odin asks him to take the high road, Thor turns to Loki for help. Loki leads him to a hidden scroll in Odin's library which could bless a weapon to pierce Celestial armor, only for "Loki" to later be revealed as Kang the Conqueror. Thor returns to London and slays the 11th Century's version of the Horsemen of Apocalypse. He then breaks into Apocalypse's craft and manages to cut his armor open with his axe "Jarnbjorn", but Apocalypse escapes. In the present day, Kang the Conqueror appears at the final resting place of Baron Mordo in Brazil. Kang then takes the axe Jarnbjorn and appears to have a plan for the weapon.

Havok clears Rogue's name with S.H.I.E.L.D for killing Grim Reaper having her start an investigation into Magneto. While Wasp shows Havok her clothing line to promote mutants, a Celestial ship controlled by the Apocalypse Twins crashes into S.W.O.R.D.'s Peak base with Captain America and Sunfire aboard. Sunfire lets Captain America escape while Thor flies towards the wreckage. Thor breaks pieces of the falling wreckage, and with the help of Sunfire, prevents casualties. Thor and Sunfire travel throughout space to the Apocalypse twins ship, and are teleported away upon entering. Meanwhile, the remaining members of the team, travel in the Quinbird, on a search for the twins. In South Sudan, Captain America exits his pod, and is attacked by local soldiers. He travels to an demolished Church for shelter, and finds a message with his name on it there. In Akkaba metropolis, Thor and Sunfire learn how their manipulation long ago, was in the twins favor. The twins then cause an explosion seemingly killing all de-powered mutants, who lost their powers long ago at the hands of the Scarlet Witch, and the Avengers Unity Squad.

Ragnarok Now

A storyline in which all the world's mutants are living on Planet X, following the destruction of Earth by the Celestials. While most of the mutant population has accepted the new status quo—believing that the Scarlet Witch died willingly to save them, while the Avengers tried to stop the inevitable—the remaining free Avengers (Havok, Thor and Wasp, aided by Beast) must work with Kang and his Chrono-Corp to defeat Eimen. Having rescued Wolverine and Sunfire from being tortured on the Apocalypse Ark, the Avengers use Kang's technology to project their minds back into their past selves, and stop the Celestials before they can strike. The timeline is successfully altered by the Avengers, when Rogue (empowered by numerous heroes) and Sentry slow Exitar's descent long enough for Thor to slay Exitar using the axe, Jarnbjorn, preserving the Earth from its destruction in the previous timeline. Despite Kang's attempt to steal the power of the Celestial for himself, the tables are turned when Havoc and Sunfire steal the Celestial's cosmic power and use it against Kang. Kang retreats, as Immortus appears with his Chrono-Corps, but Sunfire is converted to an energy-based form when his body is destroyed, Simon's essence is trapped within Rogue, Havok is left badly burned, and Havok and Wasp are left devastated by the apparent loss of their daughter (conceived in the future and taken by Kang to protect her from the change in the timeline).

The Avengers saved the day and returned the timeline to as it should be. Kang was defeated, not long after the Avengers were faced with a battle which span across several realities as Doctor Doom inherited the powers of a god. But he was stopped by his old nemesis Reed Richards. Everything returned to normal and now Steve Rogers hopes to unit Mutant, Inhuman and Human alike with a New Avengers UNITY squad. But with several of his friends licking their wounds after the *Secret Wars* getting them to re-join his noble crusade will be an uphill battle.

Infermation:

1. This game will be focussing on Action primarily taking place in New York City.

2. The game is set in its own continuity with its own timeline in place but based loosely off the 616 marvel verse.

3. "Homebreweds" characters are allowed.

4. Characters like Jean Grey, ARE all allowed but not poessing godlike powers i.e the Phoenix force, no "Mary Sues".

5. Characters ages and backstory's willy varies but no character under the age of 16.

6. Created characters need to fit realistically into the marvel canon. IE be a mutant or an inhuman, give reason for their powers.

7. Just because a canon character was in a relationship in the comics doesn't mean your PC was.  It's up to the individual players.

8. This is not a sex focused game but rather a story focussed game. However it still will feature scenes when they occur.

9.  GM ran plots and allow for character/player developed plots as well, who are encouraged to make suggested plotlines.

10. The game is "sandbox" in style.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a freeform game, so fight scenes shall be discussed and planned with GM approval. I.E the outcome of a fight as we are not using a Dice system to determine such factors within the story. In many superhero fights luck and chance are factors to the eventual outcome and that will be taken into consideration here.
Former villain's may have been *Reformed* and are now heroes, but you need to explain that in their bios. It needs to be a credible reason. For example is Sabertooth still effected from the aftermath of the AXIS storyline and now has no violent tendencies?
Each player may start off and submit Bios for TWO characters to start off with. But if you claim more then one character you must be willing to write double the amount expected of a player with one character.
Your GM for this game will be silkNsatan (main GM). Assistant GM`s TBC
#1
CHARACTER NAME: Wasp
REAL NAME: Janet van Dyne
AGE: 33
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Heterosexual
AFFILIATION: Avengers, SHEILD
APPERENACE/COSTUME:
APPERANCE WITHOUT COSTUME:
POWERS/ABILITIES:
Size Reduction: Janet's primary power is the ability to reduce her bodily size through force of will.  She retains her normal strength while reduced in size.  In addition, Janet is limited by her body's natural neurological reflex that prevents her from shrinking to below a certain size.
Flight: When reduced in size, a pair of insect-like wings grow from Janet's back.  These wings allow her to fly at an unknown maximum speed.
Bio-Electrical Blasts: Janet is also capable of producing blasts of bio-electrical energy that she calls her "Wasp Stings".  These stings vary in potency, depending on her size.  While her size is reduced, Janet can utilize painful shocks that harm even superhumanly durable beings. While at full size, however, her blasts can kill a human in the same way that a lightning bolt would.
WEAKNESSES:
The capability of Janet's sting is dependent on her size. Also, at small size, Janet is at risk of getting crushed.
HISTORY:
Janet van Dyne was a daughter of a wealthy scientist named Vernon van Dyne. During an experiment, however, an alien monster was unleashed and Dr. van Dyne was killed. Her father's associate, Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym, had created a substance called "Pym particles", which allowed the user to grow or shrink in size, and had become the superhero Ant-Man; when Janet's father died, she convinced Pym to help her, and he gave her a supply of "Pym particles" and subjected her to a procedure which granted her the ability to, upon shrinking, grow wings and fire blasts of energy, which she called her "wasp's stings". As Ant-Man and The Wasp, they defeated the monster and sent it to its own dimension, and had several more adventures together. To the Wasp's credit her first solo victory, despite the protests of her absent partner, was against the maniacal Magician.
Soon afterward, the superhero team, which Janet herself dubbed the Avengers, formed, and the pair were among its founding members.  (Additional information will be revealed in-game.)
PERSONALITY: Janet is outgoing and outspoken.  She is not easily intimidated, and virtually impossible to dissuade.  She can be very shallow, at times, seeking personal pleasure or gain without regard to the consequences or others who may be involved.
EQUIPMENT: No necessary equipment.
KNOWN ENEMIES: HYDRA, Alake, Anti-Man, Whirlwind, Yellowjacket.
Hyperion
Legal Name: Marcus 'Mark' Milton
Origin of Powers: Alien. Marcus is an Eternal
Age: Late twenties
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Description (Appearance): Muscular, red hair, green eyes
Powers:
Eternal Physiology: Hyperion's "unique" physiology is common among the Eternals. His body collects cosmic radiation and operates in a process similar to nuclear fusion. As a result, he possesses various superhuman attributes.
* Superhuman Strength: Hyperion possesses great physical strength. At his peak, he possesses superhuman strength listed at class 100 (the scale is not to be taken literally, but just comparatively). Hyperion has been shown to almost match the strength of beings such as Gladiator (whose strength is classified at class 100+).
* Superhuman Speed: Hyperion can run, move and react at supersonic speeds. The exact limit of his speed is Mach 4 (3000 miles per hour).
* Flight: Hyperion has the ability to levitate himself and fly through the air at tremendous speeds by harnessing and manipulating anti-gravitons. At his peak, he is capable of achieving escape velocity speed (25,100 miles per hour). Once in space, he is capable of reaching light-speed.
* Superhuman Stamina: Hyperion's highly advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a human being. He can exert himself physically at peak capacity for several days before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him. Hyperion is also able to physically withstand the rigors of space without any special clothing. It isn't known if he doesn't have to breathe or if he can merely hold his breath for greatly extended periods of time.
* Nigh-Invulnerability: Hyperion's entire body is far more durable than a normal human's and is virtually impervious to all physical damage. Hyperion can withstand high caliber naval gun fire, falls from tremendous heights, exposure to absolute temperatures, extreme pressures, powerful energy beams, and even great impact forces such as being repeatedly struck by Gladiator and from Thor's hammer. During an adventure into Earth-1610, otherwise known as the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Hyperion was able to withstand being slashed by the Adamantium claws of that universe's version of Wolverine without being injured.
* Superhuman Agility: Hyperion's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
* Superhuman Reflexes: Hyperion's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are far superior to those of the finest human athlete and are roughly 100 times greater.
Cosmic Energy Manipulation: Hyperion is capable of willfully manipulating great amounts of cosmic energy for a few physical purposes:
* Atomic Vision: Hyperion is capable of firing beams of highly intense heat from his eyes that's often referred to as Atomic Vision. The full limit of his Atomic Vision isn't known, but it is known that Hyperion can generate temperatures far above 12,000 degrees Fahrenheit, as his atomic vision was able to equal Gladiator's eye beams, creating a huge explosion which temporarily incapacitated both opponents.
* Regenerative Healing Factor: If injured, Hyperion can purposely channel cosmic energy to repair cells, tissues, organs and even bones that have been damaged or regrow them if they have been destroyed. When Hyperion overused his atomic vision he used up almost all of the cosmic energy that his body collected causing his powers to weaken and as a result the heat from his atomic vision burned out his retinas causing him to go blind, however his healing factor was able to regenerate the damage done to his eyes once he learned how to control cosmic energy and use it to heal injuries. Also when Gladiator broke his back during one encounter his healing factor was able to repair the damage done to his spine. Hyperion's healing factor also decreases the rate of his aging by a very high degree. However it isn't known if he ages at an exceptionally slow pace or if his healing factor has stopped him from aging altogether. His healing factor also keeps him in optimal health and makes him Immune to all diseases, infections, contamination, corrosives, and radiation (with the exception of Argonite radiation which drains his powers and vitality)
* Enhanced Senses: Hyperion possesses x-ray and miscroscopic vision, allowing him to see everything in Electro Magnetic Spectrum as well as see through solid matter.He also has superhuman hearing allowing him to hear anything he wants from whatever planet he is on, and not on.
Special Skills:
Super-Genius Class Intelligence: Hyperion possesses intellect far beyond a normal human with which he has mastered the science and technology of the Eternals, a species that is ahead of mankind both in terms of science and technology.
Expert Combatant: Hyperion is well trained in several forms of martial arts and hand-to-hand combat which makes him quite a dangerous opponent. The full extent of his training is unknown, however even without any seriously formalized training the sheer scope of his various superhuman attributes make him a highly formidable combatant.
Weaknesses
Hyperion's powers and physical vitality are severely diminished if he is exposed to Argonite radiation. Whether this radiation actually interferes with his body's ability to metabolize cosmic energy or if it is simply a psychosomatic reaction isn't fully revealed.
History:
Emerging from the Microverse, Hyperion joined forces with the new Doctor Spectrum and aided her in her plan to conquer the planet Earth and rule it with an iron fist in order to "save the people from themselves". The two "recruited" Speed Demon and Nighthawk, two members of the original Squadron Sinister, into their plans. The two new recruits betrayed them, however, and along with the rest of the Thunderbolts, defeated them. Before they could be apprehended, however, the pair were whisked away by the Grandmaster.
The Grandmaster had a plan to use an extra-dimensional energy source (the Wellspring of Power) to give himself god-like omnipotence. Baron Zemo was preparing to stop him, so the Grandmaster recruited the Squadron Sinister to be his agents in the upcoming conflict. During the inevitable confrontation, Hyperion was defeated in battle by both The Fixer and The Radioactive Man, who managed to bring him down by using high-pitched sound frequencies and a radioactive frequency that drained Hyperion of nearly all his powers, leaving him with just enough power to keep the cold hands of Death from taking him. Hyperion somehow managed to escape from the Thunderbolts and hasn't been seen since.
#3
Black Knight
Legal Name: Dane Whitman
Origin of Powers: Magic Items
Age: Early 30's
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Description (Appearance): Dark hair, brown eyes, handsome, solidly built knight in shining armour.
Powers
None.
Special Skills and Other
Gifted Scientist: Whitman started out as a scientist, though specializing in physics (having earned a Master's degree in physics), he is proficient in a wide array of advanced sciences and technologies, including genetic and mechanical engineering; and continues to approach things from a scientific perspective more often than not, despite his ties to the world of magic.
Expert Swordsman: Whitman is an excellent swordsman whose skills have allowed him to best the Swordsman in combat.
Magic Immunity: The Sword that Whitman is using is immune to magical powers, granting him an immunity to magic.
Skilled Martial Artist: He is an excellent fighter, able to hold his own against such highly skilled fighters as Captain America and Wolverine.
Expert Horseman: He is also an expert horseman.
Magical Knowledge: Whitman has become somewhat familiar with magic.
Skilled Tactician: He has also demonstrated good leadership skills as leader of both the Avengers and Ultraforce. He has strong strategic and tactical skills
Equipment
The Ebony Blade
* The Ebony Blade deflects most magical attacks. When angled in a certain way, it can instead absorb energy directed at it. It seems mostly immune to magical effects.
* It can cut through any substance (except other enchanted weapons or extremely strong metals like adamantium), even piercing Iron Man's Extremis armor with one slash, though how much of a certain substance it can cut through depends on the strength of the wielder. The sword is also indestructible.
* The blade and its wielder are linked. The wielder can be transported to the blade's location through mystic ceremony. In a few cases Dane Whitman has been transported into the body of an ancestor to wield the blade.
* Merlin has enchanted the blade so that its wielder can be injured, but not killed. The one exception is when the wielder is attacked by a weapon forged from the same starstone as the blade (such as the dagger Merlin himself crafted).
* The link between blade and wielder means that evil acts committed by the wielder can taint the blade. If used to spill too much blood in evil acts, it will begin to crave blood, and induce the wielder to kill even more. If enough blood is shed the wielder becomes the Bloodwraith. Only a worthy person can resist it. Dane Whitman once cleansed the blade of the taint accumulated over the years by casting it into the Brazier of Truth, but it could become tainted if used for evil again.
The Shield of Night
The shield can absorb energy.
Elven Armour: Dane wears protective armor, apparently of elven design. He also possesses a necklace that can contain his armor, sword and shield and reappear whenever he says Avalon.
Strider
Dane normally rides the white winged horse, Strider, a gift from the Lady of the Lake.Strider is capable of super-sonic flight and can survive in a variety of environments (including underwater).
The Brazier of Truth
This allows Dane to summon the Ghost of Sir Percy his ancestor and seek advice. He also used it to clear the curse of the ebony blade.
History:
Born and raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Dane Whitman attended university as a young man, eventually obtaining a Master's degree in physics. The descendant of a long line of heroes who took up the mantle of the Black Knight, Whitman assumed the role after his uncle Nathan Garrett had resurrected the name to partake in villainy.
Garrett was seriously wounded in a fight with Iron Man, and on his deathbed expressed his wish that his nephew should restore the family legacy by making the Black Knight a hero once again. Initially resistant to this idea, Whitman eventually took up the mantle to fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, whom he had accidentally summoned to Earth, and soon established himself as a hero.
#6
Hero Name: Ruse
Legal Name: Roxy Lebeau
Origin of Powers: Genetic Mutation
Age: 26
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Description (Appearance):
Roxy is a slip of a thing, and most think she’s far younger than her true age.  Standing at 5’3 with dark raven tresses that sometimes have a hint of colour to them, she has proven time and time again that a big personality is wrapped up in such a small package.  She tends to wear comfortable clothing that would be far more appropriate in the club than in general day to day.  Dark piercing eyes tend to always have a gleam of wickedness to them, not in the bad way, but in the way that seems to be she’s plotting something, or planning something.  Roxy has a few tattoos, and a few piercings.
Powers
Kinetic Channeling – much like her big brother, Roxy has always had the ability to imbue items with kinetic charge, allowing for detonations upon impact – or exploding locks or things of that nature.
Shadow Manipulation – Roxy has an ability to be very sneaky, and this has come in handy a time or five.  With the ability to wrap shadows around her body, she can sneak past even the most competent of watchers, when she concentrates she is able to also hide one or two others with her, but she has to really concentrate.
Charm – Unlike her big brother, Roxy doesn’t have the sort of hypnotic charisma that can make most people do what he wants with a gentle nudge.  For Roxy, it’s as if she has the ability to sweet talk her way out of most trouble, or talk herself into it depending on the situation.  She has the ability to calm down situations.  However, she can’t really get someone to outright agree with her if they simply don’t or if it goes against their nature.  [Example:  Hey, you, the vegetarian, yea you.. go eat a piece of steak] It doesn’t really work like that, but she might be able to talk someone into rethinking their convictions.  Not as powerful as Gambit’s, but still just as helpful.
Special Skills and Other:
Pickpocket – some habits die hard after, and she’s rather dexterous so it’s of no surprise that she can get away with having sticky fingers.
Lockpick – Goes hand in hand with the pickpocket.  Just because you can blow up a lock doesn’t mean you should… Of course this is something that Roxy has to work on remembering.
Heightened Reflexes – The ability to dodge and get out of the way has been very helpful for the young woman.
Melee Weaponry – Dagger, knife, tonfas, Roxy tends to like to get up close and personal if she has to get into a fight.  This is a boon as well as a bane for her.
Defensive/Evasive Driver – Everyone needs a good wheelman (or woman in this case), and Roxy was known to take the cars out for a spin or three back in the South.. and sometimes their owner reported them stolen before she could return them.
Dirty Fighter – She isn’t a trained fighter that’s for sure, but when the chips are down and she’s got her back against the wall, you better believe that she knows where to hit a person where it hurts them the most.
Chameleon – You don’t get by with a little shade and a hope.  Roxy knows how to blend in the crowd rather well, or get herself lost by changing her looks with a bit of makeup, maybe a wig, maybe even just changing the way she dresses.
Equipment:   Dice, poker chips, caltrops, and other small items she can carry in her pockets that she can charge.  Lockpick kit, a dagger that rests in her boot, and a pair of tonfas she carries in her backpack. Roxy might also have a few forged ID cards with different names on them.  A beat up Ford F150 with a raised kit and a false bottom in the bed.
History:
History:  Roxy Lebeau is the youngest child in the Lebeau family, and had been the apple of her big brother’s eye.  It wasn’t until she was 13 years of age that her mutations began to appear and she was taken under the wing of her brother and a few of his friends for her training.   At first there were singed fingers and eyebrows, but soon she was able to bring it all together and while she isn’t exactly like her brother, she’s just as good as him (and maybe just a little bit better if you ask her).
She moved to New York a few years back to get away from the South and the few bad things that had happened there.  Resolved to try and do something with what she had been given besides making a few easy bucks and living a relatively comfortable life as she saw how complacency can be the undoing of others, and to be quite honest might have been the undoing of her if she had stayed in New Orleans, she’s trying to reform herself.  It isn’t always the easiest thing in the world, but maybe just maybe… This Steve guy can help.
#7
Throwing in my card to join this Role Play with one of my favorite characaters: Kitty Pryde.
Player: keyotess
On/Offs: same as players
Hero Name: Shadowcat
Legal Name: Katherine "Kitty" Pryde
Origin of Power: Mutant
Age: 26
Sexuality: Lesbian
Description: Height: 5'3" (yes wiki says she is 5'6", I always picture her being on the short side :) and Ellen Page is 5'1" so I split the difference and this puts her at a healthier weight), Weight: 110 lbs, Eyes: Hazel, Hair: Brown
Facename: Ellen Page
Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV43rJ0a5iA Crazy by Alanis Morissette
Phasing/Intangibility: Shadowcat possesses the ability to pass through solid matter and objects by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving. In this way she and the object through which she is passing could temporarily merge without interacting, and each is unharmed when Shadowcat had finished passing through the object. This process is called "phasing." When Shadowcat is phasing, she is, for all intents and purposes, intangible. Hence, when attacked, she can shift into a "phasing" state (even if she is not at the time passing through an object) so as to allow oncoming projectiles or energy blasts to pass through her harmlessly. Shadowcat passes through objects at the same rate of speed at which she was moving before she "entered" it. Following her serious injuries at the hands of the Marauders during the Mutant Massacre,[80] Kitty's phased state became her natural state. She only remained solid by concentrating, and reverted to her phased state if that concentration was disrupted. After a number of years, she returned to her original tangible state.
Selective Intangibility: Allows others to become intangible and make other objects intangible by making them pass through other massive solid objects easily such as buildings, planes, and trains.
Partial Intangibility: Kitty can choose which parts of her body become intangible. She make one part of her intangible while leaving the rest of her body solid.
Elemental Intangibility: Allow elemental attacks to pass harmlessly through her such as water, fire, earth, air, energy, electricity, and even lightning.
Physical Disruption: Kitty can easily damage tangible matter by passing right through it.
Non-Corporeal Physiology: Kitty's intangibility abilities make her practically untouchable.
Air & Water Walking: Using her phasing/intangibility ability, Shadowcat can freely walk on both air and water. In fact, she could use her ability to walk on water and the air from the ground to the upper stories of a building as if she were climbing a staircase.
Phasing/Intangibility Extension: From the first use of her phasing power, Shadowcat was able to phase her clothing along with herself. Through practice she learned to phase other objects along with herself without harm to them, and at one point phased an entire X-Men team. She could also enable someone as big as Colossus to "walk on air" along with her. However, she had to maintain physical contact with the people or objects she phased along with herself for the effect to work with this other person or object.
Camouflage: Kitty can easily blend into the colors of her immediate surroundings and environments, practically making her invisible to anything seen to the naked eye.
Shadow Camouflage: Shadowcat can also become completely invisible and unseen in shadows.
Electronic Disruption: She could phase through any material object, even living people. When she phased through an object with an electrical system, the process disrupted the system's workings.
Telepathic Resistance: Her thoughts were highly erratic when phased as if there was no mind to telepathically affect.
Cloaking: Kitty can hide herself and others from any type of optical eyesight.
Abilities
Master Martial Artist: Shadowcat possessed moderate expertise of the martial arts of the Japanese ninja and samurai. Shadowcat demonstrated great knowledge of ninja methods of combat when she was mentally possessed by the Ronin Ogun. With the possession over, Shadowcat forgot the knowledge of ninja techniques he gave her, but she retained the knowledge of Japanese martial arts, as well as street-fighting methods taught to her by Wolverine.[84] She also knows Israeli Special Forces Training.
Dance Training: Kitty is trained in ballet and modern dance. She continued to take dance training under the tutelage of Stevie Hunter, and was highly agile.
Genius-level Computer Expert: Shadowcat was an expert in the field of computer science, demonstrating genius-level aptitude for programming, modifying, and diagnosing almost any computer system: even those of unfamiliar human and extraterrestrial origin. She used her skills in many high-stress combat situations to great effect, and in combination with her mutant ability to disrupt electrical systems she was a formidable foe for any enemy relying on advanced technology. She was on par with her former hacking partner Cypher whose mutant gift for languages granted him superhuman skill in the same field (albeit before he was consciously aware of his powers.
Multilingual: She speaks fluent Japanese, Russian, the royal and standard languages of the Shi'ar Empire, and Skrullos. She also has moderate expertise in Gaelic, and knows some profanities in Hebrew.
Strength level
Normal human with moderate regular exercise.
Weaknesses
Mystical Vulnerability: While phasing Shadowcat was still vulnerable to mystical attacks, however magic users like Scarlet Witch or Doctor Strange cannot affect her whilst Kitty is intangible.
Phasing Limitations: Since she was unable to breathe while "inside" an object, she could only continuously phase through solid objects (as when she traveled underground) as long as she could hold her breath. Denser materials were more difficult for Kitty to phase through, sometimes causing her pain. When phasing through Adamantium it makes her sick. Solidifying while in an object could cause serious injury if not death. As it is an active ability, if she can't see an attack coming, she can't phase through it, a fact that the mercenary known as Deadpool once exploited when he knocked her out (taking her by surprise) in order to provoke Wolverine into fighting him for his amusement.
History:
After Ragnarok Now events played out, Kitty Pryde had retired from superheroine and had gone back to Chicago and entered Chicago University to continue her degrees in Physics and Computer Science.  Although, Kitty was finding it hard to give up superheroine completely, she helped capture a campus rapists.  During a party, she kissed another woman and things started to make sense.  Later that night, she sat and examined her life, her relationships with the men in her life as compared to her relationship with Rachel, Illyana and Danielle, she realized that she connects with women much better than with men on a romantic level.  She was just dating men because it was expected of her.  She hasn't jumped into a relationship, her life still not settled and of course when Wasp approached her to join the Avengers, she couldn't resist going back to helping people by being a superheroine.
By accepting what is and making the best use of every situation, life can be fulfilled without a constant demand for more. --Wen Tzu
In writing, a flaw is not the interesting part of a character.  What is interesting is how a person overcomes a flaw.  I want to read how a person overcomes a flaw, not how the flaw overcomes the person.
ROGUE
Hero Name: Rogue
Legal Name: Anna Marie
Origin of Powers: Human mutant
Age: 23
Sexuality: Pansexual
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 120 lbs.
Eyes: Green
Description (Appearance):
Powers:
Power Absorption: Rogue can absorb the powers, energies, memories, knowledge, talents, personality and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being (or members of some sentient alien races) through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. She is not limited to absorbing superhuman abilities: for example, she has absorbed the strength, agility, and sharp reflexes of an enhanced human. She can also absorb psionic abilities. In absorbing another person's memories Rogue also gains the emotional responses connected to them. For the transfer of abilities to be accomplished, Rogue’s skin must contact the skin of her victim. Rogue can only absorb abilities and memories from living organic beings. She can possess the powers of several superhuman persons at once. No upper limit has yet been determined for the number of superhuman beings whose power she can maintain simultaneously, or for the amount of power that she can absorb.Rogue can even absorb gross physical characteristics from a victim. Her physical appearance does not change when she absorbs abilities and memories from a normal looking human being. The victim's abilities and memories are absorbed for a time sixty times longer than the period of time Rogue was in physical contact with that person. Those touched are rendered unconscious by contact with her, though some beings, including Juggernaut and Mojo have resisted this effect. While for most of her life, her use of this power was involuntary, Rogue has recently gained full control over it.
This transfer is usually temporary, lasting for a period of time relative to how long contact is maintained, but the transfer may become permanent in certain cases. For example, she absorbed Ms. Marvel's powers permanently due to unknown reasons (Ms. Marvel's strange mix of human and Kree DNA may have had something to do with it)and she absorbed Sunfire's powers permanently when she absorbed the last of his life force by accident.Most often the process happens instantly when Rogue touches someone, but in certain instances where a being has possessed an extraordinary level of power they are able to resist her, and she may only share part of their memories and power.
Her power is potentially lethal. Her flirtation, Cody Robbins, was in a comatose state for roughly a decade after her powers first manifested when they touched. He never fully awakened, and finally passed on instead of remaining on life support.However, Rogue has never actually killed with her powers; even under the influence of Strain 88, she only sent victims into a permanent vegetative state.
As Rogue is absorbing the total psyche of a person, there is a risk of a personality overwhelming her and taking control of her body, including Spiral and Mr. Sinister who both proved to be the dominant personality. It has also been shown that even though Rogue forgets the memories she has absorbed when a psyche returns to its body, 'echoes' of their personalities remain buried in her mind.
Rogue is able to absorb psyches and abilities of several beings at once, though the experience can be confusing and disorienting for her.
Robotic beings are mostly immune to her power. Depending on the amount of organics left, she can usually affect cyborgs.She seems able to affect techno-organic beings. Powerful enough beings can withstand her touch and attempt to impose their own will on her or cause a feedback loop. Rogue's power has grown over time. Initially she was unable to absorb the powers of Wonder Man, a being a living ionic energy.However, in recent months she has been able to absorb him when previously she could not.
Although she is capable of absorbing his powers, Colossus in metal form was able to make physical contact with her with no ill effects.
Rogue's powers were greatly enhanced by Pandemonium via Strain 88, making the effects of her touch instantly permanent and all-consuming.Her powers returned to their normal levels after the mutant baby touches her in X-Men. This also returned her mental status to normal, as the baby purged all previous templates and mental impressions from her being.Rogue is now able to voluntarily use her powers, now kissing Gambit and not hurting him or absorbing his powers. This appears to be because, before Professor Xavier helped her break them down, her power had formed many mental walls within her mind every time she used her abilities. As such her powers were crippled in their development freezing them in their nascent stage which severely limited Rogue's control. Yet when she, Gambit and Danger fought Ares in Utopia, her power absorption was still strong enough to weaken Ares to some level for Gambit to give the final blow, hinting that she can finally control her touch to be very deadly for enemies without hurting her friends. She later uses the much more debilitating version of her powers against the Avengers during her fight with the Avengers to defend Jean Grey School from Avengers' invasion, even making Falcon and She-Hulk immediately unconscious without any negative feedback on herself (besides the green skin from She-Hulk), stealing their powers and rendering them unconscious for quite a long time as she stated herself as "so it's time to get old school".
A new twist in Rogue's powers consists of prompting her victims of her skin-to-skin contact, for a consent on the process. Rogue's victim can either resist the absorption and suffer, like originally with Rogue's powers, or instead submit to the absorption, and so the process instead becomes entirely fluent without consequences.
More recently, Rogue now retains the powers and very essence of Wonder Man and can no longer freely touch others with her power.While she originally retained the consciousness of Simon Williams, the Master Scientist later removed it.
Wonder Man Powers: Rogue possesses the following abilities as a result of permanently absorbing the energy of Wonder Man into her body.
Ionic Energy Form: The tissue and bones of her entire body have now been augmented in strength and to a certain extent. She is now composed of organic matter that is permeated with this form of energy.
Superhuman Strength: Possesses vast superhuman strength, the limits of which aren't known, and she is listed above the class 100 limit. Her strength extends into her legs, as she is capable of superhuman leaps covering several hundred feet.
Superhuman Speed: She can run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
Superhuman Stamina: Her ion body grants him unlimited stamina and is therefore immune to fatigue.
Superhuman Durability: Her bodily tissues are much harder and far more resistant to physical injury than the bodily tissues of a normal human. Rogue is highly resistant to penetration wounds, even from high caliber machine gun shells. She can also withstand tremendous impact forces, such as falling from great heights or being repeatedly struck by superhumanly strong opponents, without being hurt. She is also resistant to extremes in temperature.
Superhuman Agility: Her agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of even the finest human athlete.
Superhuman Reflexes: Rogue reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of the finest human athlete.
Superhuman Hearing: Her hearing has been enhanced to a superhuman degree.
Energy Vision: Rogue can see beyond the usual spectrum visible to the human eye.
Flight: Rogue is now able to fly through the air at great speeds, the exact limit of which isn't known. She can fly at speeds in excess of 700 mph.
Immortality: Rogue is functionally immortal. Because of the ionic energy that empowers her, she no longer ages and is immune to disease and infection. This same energy sustains Rogue's physical vitality far more efficiently than the biochemical process that sustain ordinary human life. As a result, she no longer requires food, water, or oxygen.
Ionic Regenerative Healing: Rogue's ionic form can heal itself from gunshot wounds, surgery, and even severed limbs.
Special Skills and Other: Rogue could formerly draw upon the combat and espionage training of Carol Danvers by granting control of her body to her alternate personality, a duplicate of Danvers'. Rogue can also speak fluent French.
Equipment: None
History: Rogue's parents, Owen and Priscilla, married early in their relationship and lived in a back-to-nature hippie commune in Caldecott County, Mississippi. Born as Anna Marie, she also enjoyed the attentions of her Aunt Carrie on her mother's side. The commune's failed attempt to use Native American mysticism to reach the Far Banks resulted in Priscilla's disappearance. Carrie took over Anna's care and, in her grief at the loss of her sister, was a strict and authoritarian guardian. Anna Marie was a rebellious child and her equally poor relationship with her father prompted her to run away from home as a young teenager.
This also prompted the nickname "Rogue".
At some point, Rogue grew close to a boy named Cody Robbins. During their flirtation, Rogue impulsively kissed Cody, at which point her latent mutant power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact emerged. Cody was left in a coma from which he would not awaken. Rogue was traumatized by the experience and she wore body-concealing clothing that eliminated the possibility of accidental skin contact. Rogue was not able to control her absorption power at first; any skin-to-skin contact activated it, and she sometimes retained residual memories of the people she touched. Rogue wished she did not have to cover up so much around folks, to protect them from her.
During Charles Xavier's funeral, Rogue encountered the Scarlet Witch at Xavier's grave. Rogue took offense to seeing Wanda there, and the two began fighting. Their battle was interrupted by the arrival of the Red Skull and his team of altered humans. Rogue and Wanda were both captured and taken to the Red Skull's base.Rogue managed to escape from her captors and encountered Wanda, who was now being mind controlled by the Red Skull, who immediately attacked her. The two fought their way into Skull's laboratory where they found the now brainless corpse of Charles Xavier. This was enough to snap Wanda out of her mind control and Rogue vowed that she would kill the Red Skull for desecrating Xavier's corpse and taking his brain. However, they were immediately attacked by the Red Skull and his team.Scarlet Witch and Rogue were mentally controlled into allowing being executed by the mentally-controlled mutant-hating crowd Red Skull gathered, but snapped back once the Avengers Unity Division appeared to fight Shmidt.After Red Skull and his S-Men escaped, Rogue joined the Avengers Unity Division.
In a divergent universe, the Apocalypse Twins' machinations led to the death of both Rogue and the Scarlet Witch and the destruction of Earth, with the only remaining human being the Wasp.The remaining members of the Avengers Unity Division from that dire future transported their consciousness to the present, and informed about what would happen if they didn't act different.
By absorbing the powers of almost every Avenger and X-Men, Rogue prevented the Celestial Exitar (who had been tricked by the Apocalypse Twins into punishing Earth) from literally stepping on Earth and destroying it, while Thor slayed him with the Jarnbjorn, his old magical axe which was in possession of the Twins. The Avengers also destroyed the Twin's Tachyon Dam, a device which prevented any physical time-travel. By doing this, they accidentally allowed Kang (who had helped the future remaining Avengers to travel to the present) to arrive, along with his Chronos Corps, and absorb Exitar's blood, gaining enormous power.
As the Infinity Watch arrived to help the Avengers fight the Chronos Corps, Havok and Sunfire confront and ultimately defeat Kang, who was forced to flee along with his soldiers. After the crisis was over, Rogue was in the process of being driven mad by all the heroes she had absorbed. The Scarlet Witch cast a spell to return those powers to their owners, although Rogue still retained the powers and the very essence she absorbed from Wonder Man.She had also lost her ability to freely touch others.
During the events of World War Hate, Rogue left the Avengers Unity Division and fought with the inverted X-Men against the Avengers and humanity. After the reinversion spell was cast, almost all returned to their normal state and Rogue rejoined the Unity Division as the team's new leader.Their first adventure took them to Counter-Earth to look for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. They were unexpectedly captured by the citizens of Counter-Earth and Rogue was stripped of Wonder Man's consciousness, but not his powers, by the Master Scientist.
After flying through a Terrigen Cloud to rescue some mutants, Rogue began to suffer from Terrigen poisoning.
Powers/Abilities:
Wolverine is a mutant who possesses the ability to regenerate damaged or destroyed areas of his cellular structure at a rate far greater than that of an ordinary human. The speed at which this healing factor works varies in direct proportion with the severity of the damage Wolverine suffers. For example, he can fully recover from an ordinary gunshot wound in a non-vital area of his body within minutes, but it took him almost two months to fully recover from injuries sustained in a duel with Lord Shingen, which included one from a sword that went all the way through his trunk.
Wolverine’s natural healing also affords him virtual immunity to poisons and most drugs, as well as an enhanced resistance to diseases. For example, it is nearly impossible for him to become intoxicated from drinking alcohol. He also has a limited immunity to the fatigue poisons generated by bodily activity, and hence he has greater endurance than an ordinary human. His agility and reflexes are similarly enhanced.
In addition, Wolverine’s healing factor provides him with an extended lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Although over a century old, Wolverine is as healthy and physically fit as a man in his prime.
Wolverine also possesses superhumanly acute senses, making him capable of seeing things at a maximum distance greater than a normal human’s. His hearing is enhanced in a similar manner, and he is able to recognize people and objects by scent, even if that person or object is hidden. Wolverine can use these enhanced senses to track any creature with an impressive degree of success.
Wolverine’s skeleton includes six retractable one-foot long bone claws, three in each arm, that are housed beneath the skin and muscle of his forearms. Wolverine can, at will, release these slightly curved claws through his skin beneath the knuckles on each hand. The skin between the knuckles tears and bleeds, but the blood loss is quickly halted by his healing factor. Wolverine can unsheathe any number of his claws at once, although he must keep his wrists straight at the moment his claws shoot from his forearms into his hands. When unsheathed, the claws are fully within his hands, and thus Wolverine can still bend his wrists. The claws are naturally sharp and tougher than that of normal human bone structure, allowing Wolverine to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials.
Despite the extent of his healing factor, Wolverine is not immortal. If the injuries are extensive enough, especially if they result in the loss of vital organs, large amounts of blood, and/or loss of physical form, such as having flesh burned away by fire or acid, Wolverine can die.
Due to his extensive training as a soldier, a C.I.A. operative, a samurai, a spy, and a member of the X-Men, Wolverine is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, having mastered virtually every fighting style on Earth. He is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques. Wolverine is fluent in many languages, including Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Cheyenne, Lakota, and Spanish; he has some knowledge of French, Thai, and Vietnamese.
Weapons:
Wolverine’s entire skeletal structure, including his claws, has been artificially bonded to the nearly indestructible metal Adamantium. As a result, Wolverine’s bones are virtually unbreakable, and his claws are capable of cutting through almost any substance depending on its thickness and the amount of force he can exert. Due to his healing factor, the presence of Adamantium in his body does not interfere with his bones’ normal function of generating blood corpuscles. The reinforcement of his skeleton enables Wolverine to withstand high levels of physical pressure, giving his muscles sufficient force to briefly lift/press several hundred pounds. Throughout his life, Wolverine has used a variety of bladed weapons, most frequently daggers and, at times, swords. He has also wielded many different types of firearms throughout his careers as a soldier, a mercenary, and a spy.
History:
Born the second son of wealthy landowners John and Elizabeth Howlett in Alberta, Canada during the late 19th Century, James Howlett was a frail boy of poor health. James was largely neglected by his mother, who was institutionalized for a time following the death of her first son, John Jr., in 1897. He spent most of his early years on the estate grounds and had two playmates that lived on the Howlett estate with him: Rose, a red-headed girl who was brought in from town to be a companion to young James, and a boy nicknamed "Dog" who was the son of the groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. Thomas Logan was an alcoholic and was extremely abusive to his son. The children were close friends but as they reached young adulthood, the abuse inflicted upon Dog warped his mind. His actions would lead to a tragic chain of events. that started as the three neared their adolescent years when Dog made unwanted advances toward Rose and James reported it to his father. In retaliation Dog killed James's pet dog. This in turn resulted in the expulsion of Thomas Logan and Dog Logan from the estate.
Thomas Logan, in a drunken stupor, invaded the Howlett estate with his son and attempted to take Elizabeth Howlett (implied to be his former lover) with him. John attempted to stop him and Thomas Logan shot him down in cold blood. James Howlett had just entered the room when this occurred and for the first time his mutation manifested; his claws extended from the backs of his hands and he attacked the intruders with uncharacteristic ferocity, killing Thomas Logan, and scarring Dog's face with three claw marks. Elizabeth Howlett, who was already an emotionally disturbed woman, took her life immediately afterward with a blast from Thomas's gun. Fearing for their safety, Rose fled the estate with James, who appeared to have been deeply traumatized and had somehow repressed or forgotten most of the memories of life back at the estate. Dog falsely reported to the police and James's grandfather that Rose had murdered John Howlett II and Thomas Logan. The eldest Howlett, shunned James and with no family left, took Dog in as his ward. However, Dog was already a burgeoning psychopath and it was too late for his character to evolve down any other path.
In the years that followed, James and Rose took refuge in a British Colombia mining colony under the guise of being cousins. James also assumed the name of "Logan" in order to hide his identity. As the hard work of mining toughened his body, and his mutant powers developed, he grew to be unusually strong and ferocious. He was immune to the elements and even ran with the wolves in the forest, learning to hunt as an animal hunts. "Logan" became a valuable and admirable figure amongst the small community of miners due to his hard work and strong ethics, earning him the respect of his peers, including the foreman Smitty, who became a surrogate father figure to James. During this period, James developed strong feelings for Rose, but could not act on them for the sake of their guise as cousins. Smitty, who had been mentoring James all these years, had also grown close to Rose, and the two eventually fell in love and became engaged, much to the scorn and surprise of James, who later accepted the situation for the sake of Rose's happiness. Meanwhile, the elder John Howlett was in failing health and asked Dog to find Rose and his grandson so he could make peace with them before he died. Dog agreed. However, Dog (who has become a physically formidable man himself) decides to track them down so he can kill James.
Dog hunted James and Rose down so easily that it seemed he had a preternatural skill for tracking. On then night that Smitty was due to leave the mining town with Rose, Dog (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Logan's future nemesis, Sabretooth) finally found and confronted James. Dog reminded James of his past, and that faithful night back on the estate that had changed all their lives so. The two fiercely fought in the middle of the street and despite being the physically stronger of the two Dog was eventually overpowered by the enraged James. As Dog laid unconscious, James unsheathed his claws for the first time in public, to the shock of everyone watching, and was about to deal the deathblow until Rose leapt in to stop him but was accidentally was impaled by his claws. Horrified, "Logan" held her in his arms as she died. He then fled into the woods where he lived in self-imposed exile with a pack of wolves, presumably for many years.
Logan possesses memories of being a Samurai in Japan, a mercenary operative for the Central Intelligence Agency, and a "wild man" in the Canadian wilderness. Due to extensive memory implants given to Logan through the Weapon X program, any or all of these memories are suspect. Logan has at least one memory of meeting Captain America (Steve Rogers) in World War II while he was in the Canadian Army which has been verified as true. Sometime after World War II, Logan was taken by a group of scientists led by Dr. Cornelius as part of the Weapon X program. Cornelius was hired to perfect and use a technique that would bond the indestructible element adamantium to human bone cells. Logan's skeleton was bonded to the adamantium, and he was indoctrinated into the Weapon X assassin program.
Wolverine was conscripted by Department H, and for his first mission was sent against the incredible Hulk. Wolverine was subsequently approached by Professor Charles Xavier, who was looking for mutants to help his students, the X-Men, escape from the island-being known as Krakoa, which had captured them. Wolverine left Alpha Flight to accompany Xavier and rescue the captured X-Men. After Krakoa was defeated, Wolverine decided to stay with the X-Men, for reasons which included that he had fallen for Marvel Girl (Jean Grey). Logan remained with the X-Men for quite some time, at one time being their field commander, and encountered adversaries such as Proteus (Kevin MacTaggart), Magneto (Magnus), the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the Brood, the Reavers, demons from the dimension of Limbo, the Marauders, the Morlocks, and even Dracula on one occasion.
In Costume
Out of Costume
REAL NAME: Meggan Puceanu
AGE: 24
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Omnisexual
AFFILIATION: Avengers
POWERS/ABILITIES
Meggan is a mutant empath, metamorph and elemental of great power.
  • Empathy: A telepathic talent which enables Meggan to sense the emotions and feelings of all living creatures (from people, to animals, to plants) and can broadcast her own feelings in order to influence other people's emotions.
  • Natural Perception: Meggan has the ability to “See” and “hear” natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her. This power links her with natural/biological patterns of forces in the world around her. This power links with her own empathy/shapeshifting. Meggan can sense electromagnetic forces, air currents, chemical reactions and even detect “visibly” telepathic communications. Meggan can also see and sometimes talk to ghosts.
  • Empathic Metamorph: A shapeshifter who can assume the form of any living creature, even those who only exist in legends (once she became a Godzilla-like dragon and actually breathed fire, and another occasion she became a werewolf that looked and had all of a wolf's natural abilities). Meggan can assume the form of other people as well. She has also demonstrated the abilities to turn into sentient sand or water.
  • Power Duplication: If she takes on the appearance of another superhuman, Meggan can also gain their powers. This also works when she turns into a female mirror of her subject.
  • Elementalist: Thanks to Meggan's empathy, she has a psionic link to the natural forces of the Earth - this includes earth, fire, water, air and even ether(energy). By "speaking" to the elements, Meggan can command the environment around her, and her emotional state can affect the local ecosystems. She can extinguish forest fires with a thought, summon gale force winds or part the waters of a lake with wave of her hand, or even cause earthquakes in a flash of anger. Meggan has even been observed causing electromagnetic pulses by commanding the magnetic fields around her, freezing opponents by rapidly dropping the air temperature around them, or increasing the powers of elemental powered heroes. Meggan has used her elemental powers to affect man-made objects, such as actually making the atoms in a building's roof move apart, creating a hole in the roof that resealed itself (without a trace of ever having had a hole in it) once Meggan had passed though it.
    • Energy Blasts: Meggan can focus the elemental energies around her into devastating energy blasts. When she absorbs power, she begins to glow.
    • Earth Energy Absorption: Meggan has the ability to draw energy from the Earth. She can use this power to augment her abilities to shape change, generate bio-blasts or fly.
  • Flight: Meggan has the ability to propel herself through the air at high speeds by force of will. While she does so, her hair streams out behind her to a length far longer than it usually is. Meggan can apparently support great weights even when flying.
  • Environmental Immunity: Her elemental powers also cause Meggan to change in response to her surroundings, such as growing fur in extreme cold, or gills when she is submerged underwater.
  • Magical Affinity: Meggan's powers grow more fluid and manageable and stronger while she is in magical realms.
  • Magical Energy Manipulation: Meggan can manipulate magical energy, mostly unconsciously to instinctively protect herself, i.e. deflecting spells cast at her.
  • Reality Warp Resistance: Because of her shapechanging power, Meggan has some resistance to the reality-warping powers of others.
[Floatleft][/float]WEAKNESSES
Unconscious Shapechanging: Thanks to her empathic ability, Meggan's body will actually change in response to the emotions around her, becoming beautiful when she feels loved, or hideous when she feels fear or anger.
Psychic lightning rod:: Meggan's mind does not have the same level of psychic 'blocks' that most humans and especially beings with psionic power do. Her empathic abilities serve to make her open to psychic attacks and manipulation as well as making her impulsive and impressionable; often acting on the present with little concern for the past or future
HISTORY
Meggan is Romani (Gypsy) descent, and was born in their camp in the Appalachians. As a young child, Meggan was thought to be a wolf girl. However, her mutant shape changing power manifested at birth and she had simply grown fur because she was cold. As rumors escalated amongst the other Romani about the monstrous child in her father William's caravan, Meggan subconsciously began to manifest the attributes they speculated feared had, such as fangs and bat wings. Because of this, her parents kept her isolated, and she was allowed to venture out only at night, with only television during the day as a link to the outside world. Because of this sheltered life and lack of education, Meggan is functionally illiterate and incredibly naive.
Stories of a 'monster girl' living hidden amongst the Gypsies brought a wave of anti-mutant hater mongers hunting for the 'beast-girl' to fall upon Gypsy camps. It wasn't long before Meggan witnessed the horror of her family and relations being brutally beaten and burned by horrible men with nothing but hate in their hearts. This broke something inside her and she fell upon them, ripping them to pieces after embracing the 'mutant fiend' they made her out to be. She was found in a pitiful state wailing over her fallen kin by Wolverine, who was drawn to the site of the slaughter fearing it was Sabertooth having some 'fun'. Seeing her covered in gore and in a form that was so vile and horrifying she was unrecognizable as human he attacked and they fought a fearsome battle that left both of them at death's door. Had Meggan not been instinctively mimicking Wolverine's healing factor she would have been shredded and bleeding to death, instead she was able to crawl away and hide as she her wounds healed at a preternatural speed.
It was dark before she was back to normal, all the while Meggan grieved for all she'd lost and all she'd done. In the depths of her heart, she wished that none of it had happened but since that was impossible, she just wanted the dead to be at peace. That fundamental desire was shared with the land around her and it rippled, quaked and then settled as it welcomed the corpses of those who'd passed into it's bosom. When day broke, nothing remained of the camp but a ring of white and black boulders commemorating the Gypsies and Gadjé who perished here.
It was in the center of this ring that Meggan was found by Psylocke, who was looking for Logan. Grief and remorse was palpably washing out of the strange monsterous woman that battered against Psylocke's mental barriers and let the telepath see every moment of Meggan's sad life. Psylocke went to her, offering her comfort and care, slowly establishing trust that blossomed into something deeper, a life line to Meggan's true self. Psylocke showed her how she was so much more then the sum of others fears of her and helped her isolate the pure, sweet innocent trapped within the skin of a monster she'd been forced to hide within. Meggan transformed before her eyes and hugged her, then followed her back to Xavier's School.
In all the twists and turns Relatity underwent, Meggan was a fixed point untouched by the changes around her. Her essential bond with the world and command over her self allowed her to hand onto who she was regardless of who did what to whom. She always stayed true to her friends, treasuring her bond to the X-Men and then by extension to the Avengers. So when Captain America put out the call for a new set of Uncanny Avengers Meggan, who now took on the Superheroine moniker of Glorianna, answered and volunteered to be numbered amongst those who were defending life against bigotry and hate.
PERSONALITY
Meggan has learned to be light, carefree and wild now that she doesn't labor under the fears of others. She has a child like innocence and naïveté that can be disarmingly captivating or draw exactly the wrong sort of attention her way. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, protective of the weak and innocent, believes in fair play and equanimity in all things, those she does have a mischievous, mercurial side.
He is also immune to any mystical attacks that are specific to beings with living souls.
Blaze is a world-class cyclist capable of seemingly impossible stunts. He is also an excellent shot with pistols and shotguns and has limited knowledge of the occult.
Weapons:
When Blaze becomes the Ghost Rider he has complete control over a Hellfire Enchanted Chain which is nigh-indestuctible.
History:
Long ago, the demon Zarathos began building a tremendous power base for himself. His penchant for human souls led him into conflicts with foes such as the Blood cult and the vile Mephisto, who saw Zarathos as a rival. Mephisto ultimately tricked and enslaved Zarathos, rendering the demon amnesiac and trapping him in various mortal forms over many years. This torture eventually dovetailed with another pastime of Mephisto's - the search for the Medallion of Power, a mystical artifact crafted by the Blood that housed the essence of the original Spirits of Vengeance. The medallion had been broken into shards and embedded into the spiritual bloodline of two families. One of these bloodlines, the Kales, attracted Mephisto's attention in the 18th century when Noble Kale's shard of the Medallion transformed him into a Spirit of Vengeance, the Ghost Rider. Mephisto failed to corrupt Noble at this time, but he kept track of the Kale clan from then on, watching as Noble manifested in the firstborn of every generation.
John Blaze was born into a world of motorcycle grease and cheering crowds. The son of Barton Blaze and Naomi Kale, Johnny spent his early years in the Quentin Carnival, where his parents starred in a stunt show with Craig "Crash" Simpson. His idyllic home life ended abruptly, however, when Naomi abandoned John, taking his younger siblings - Barbara and Daniel - with her. Naomi's decision to leave had been difficult, but she felt it was necessary because of the family curse. She feared that her own firstborn would suffer in the same way that she had, so she left him behind and placed her other children in the care of a woman named Francis Ketch.
The pain of losing his mother caused John to repress many of his memories of Naomi and his siblings. When Barton died in a stunt shortly thereafter, John was adopted by Crash and Mona Simpson, who helped fabricate a past for Johnny, one that they hoped would be less painful than the truth. Believing that his real mother - "Clara Blaze" - had passed away, Johnny became an enthusiastic member of the Simpson clan, growing close to their daughter, Roxanne. The two became inseparable and, as they grew older, their love for one another moved beyond familial.
Naomi Kale returned to spy on John; while glad to see him grow into a happy young man, she still feared he might eventually succumb to the family curse. Naomi bargained with Mephisto to spare John, hoping this might end the curse. Unfortunately, Mephisto betrayed her in the final moments of her life, swearing that even though Johnny would still could become Ghost Rider.
Unaware of the mystical forces swirling around him, John followed the Simpsons into their own traveling stunt show - the Crash Simpson Stunt Cycle Extravaganza. Crash had become a true father figure to Johnny by this time, teaching him how to ride in the hopes that the younger man might eventually succeed him as the star of the show. This dream came to a fiery end when Johnny was fifteen. While practicing a dangerous stunt, Johnny was nearly killed and Mona Simpson was mortally wounded. When Mona asked John on her deathbed to quit riding, he swore to her that he would.
Over the next five years, Johnny's relationship with Crash deteriorated as John refused to take part in the show. Not understanding John's motivations, Crash grew increasingly frustrated, even accusing his adopted son of cowardice; however, John continued to practice at night, honing his skills until he surpassed his mentor. He had another secret, too: he and Roxanne had become lovers. When Crash revealed he was dying of cancer, he asked Johnny once more to take over the show, but Johnny refused despite Roxanne's disappointment. Distraught, John turned to the occult in search of answers. His studies ultimately led to a spell that supposedly could summon Satan himself. John didn't realize it, but the entity he summoned was actually the same Mephisto who had cheated Naomi Kale years before. Mephisto cured Crash of his cancer in return for Johnny's promise of servitude. Crash died almost immediately afterwards, however, in a failed attempt to set a world's record by jumping over 22 cars. Despairing over the loss of his adopted father, Johnny attempted - and made - the jump himself, seeking to honor Crash's memory.
OMG Megan's empathic shapechanging + Ghostrider's Sin Sensing/Manifesting power = FunFunFun
Rebelle
Wow all of the character choices are so awesome.  But I do feel like my little Ruse is going to be woefully underpowered lol, but still a lot of fun!  Also if anyone wanted to play Remy/Gambit , it wouldn't bother me for sibling connections.
Bowen
I've already taken two characters. But I would play Gambit in a second.
Yea he's really awesome!  I have always loved the character which is why I made Roxy (who is actually from a homebrewed game using the cWoD system, many many years ago).  I just didn't want anyone thinking they're stepping on toes or anything by seeing an OC sister and not wanting to play him.
I can't wait to see this game start.  I'm itching for hero shenanigans!
JaredSyn
I like Ruse and do not see her as under powered. She has some excellent abilities and skills.
Sally Aces
I think Ruse will become an invaluable member of the team. Her street smarts and nod so 'good girl' skills will be invaluable. Plus, she'll be a good mood lightner as we have Ghost Rider and Wolverine battling it out for Emo-Superboi-king
Bowen
If Ruse's abilities are on par with Remi...well he did take out Marvel's version of Superman, Gladiator of the Shi'ar. Plus the way her writeup is I get the sense she's very much a survivor.
Lots of good characters!  I wonder how many players SilknSatan are looking for?
There are still preapproved characters who haven't been posted. I'm guessing we're waiting for them before we get started.
Maybe we could do some pre-game, the newbies move in RP before things get started? Just to hash out characters voices, habits etc?
Sure I'm good with that. Establish the history and relationships for our versions of these characters.
I would be fine with some warm-ups with Kitty. :)
