I will admit that Jacqueline Caery is among my favored authors because of her Kushiel and Naamah series.  I have tried a few times to get a story going with this setting and the story seems to go along fine, but then my writing partner disappears.   Frustrating as you all know.   In the past, I have had a fairly narrow character concept I am looking for in this setting, but seeing how that has not worked well in the past, I am going to loosen up the reigns a little bit.   Here are some ideas that I am looking at and hoping to catch someone's interest.

1) Brother to the Queen, Alexander Bastion Courcel, named "The Black Swan' for having the raven black Morhban Hair instead of the normal Courcel pale blonde.   To be paired with a character of your choice.  In the Night Court, retired from the Night Court, noblewoman, heir to a great house, heir to a small house, etc.  Pitch me the idea and we can discuss.  The Black Prince has been burned in the past by courtly love by one Desire Shahrizai, and as such has a rather...angry and dominiat disposition to them now.  Is he now a match for you, or can you make the Black Swan believe in love once more?  Decisions decisions.  This story is set about 400 years before Kushiel's Dart.

2) Lyon Daniel de Morhban, heir to Kusheth, has run into your character at Imriel and Sidonie de la Courcel's wedding.   Spark and ego flare.  It is love at first sight, or is it the beginning of a blood feud?  Originally the character was designed for Imriel's cousin, Roshana Shahrizai, but again, pitch me your idea if you want something different.  This one is far more open as story goes and am willing to discuss plot twists and hooks.  This story setting takes place during the end and right after the events in Kushiel's Mercy

3) Nathaniel de Wintre no Mandrake, Dowayne of Mandrake, and you are his new patron.  It is shocking as no one has ever thought you would step into Mandrake's halls.  He is a male of dark charm, and man that believes pain is not the only way to make one yield, though a master of erotic pain he is.  This concept will start the beginning of the relationship.  Is your character single, or is she in a marriage that is not giving her the satisfaction she craves?  Also have a nice plot twist in that former patrons of Nathaniel are turning up dead.  Is there something more sinister to the Dowayne of Mandrake, or is he innocent and being set up by someone else?   This story can take place either before Kushiel's Dart, after Kushiel's Mercy, or during/after the Naaamah books.

Three characters, several plot concepts to choose from.  If any of this sparks your interest at all, please drop me a PM and we can discuss.  My O/O are linked below in my signature page, as well as links to some of my writing efforts here on E!.  If you think we will mesh and love the setting, well what are you waiting for?

Respectfully and Sincerely,

Blackstone

Going to give this another try to see if anyone is interested in the above concepts and would like to partner up with me.  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Still looking for someone to take me up on a story set in the Kushiel setting.  If the above plot hooks do not grab your attention or interest, I am open to other suggestions and would love to discuss.  It is by far one of my favorite settings and love the wealth of role playing offered by her creation.

Looking for a partner who want to write and have fun as honestly, it is all I am here for.   I hope any fans out there, the idea above catch someone's interest and we can chat.  I am almost open to a plot hook where its sort of like a Kushiel/Kings smash up, at least in the concept of putting Terre d'Ange in modern times where businesses hold political clout, and the Night Court barely more than a memory.  A story to restore faith in the Companions, to believe one more in Blessed Elua and his precept, and to raise the Night Court back to glory I think would be a very interesting story.
