I'm still working on my spy-femme fatale, and I'm wondering how focused or balanced should I be. I'd like to make her focused on social skills to get the info she needs and not so combat capable. Will that lower her likelihood to survive or just result in more 'captures'? I'm thinking of taking things like eidetic memory, striking appearance and well connected. I was thinking of giving her lock picking and concealment... but i don't see guns and knives as her style... now poisoned lipstick that lets her KO someone with a kiss...much more her way of doing things...

Depends on the gun or knife... a little automatic or a derringer in the garter belt or a stiletto would make sense, for keeping people covered as she unexpectedly turns the tables on them.  Plus, if she's searched and gives them up, no one will think her lipstick is also a weapon.

On the aircraft for Billy, could it be a customized Douglas DC 2? That would of been the latest and hottest transport/airlines plane out and if it can be tricked out a bit... chrome mags.... tinted windows... wet bar in the back... 5.50 machine guns on each side...and a bed for torturing Nazi fem fatale's. ;)

LOL chrome mags and tinted windows.  Sure, why not.  Your benefactor will be named Preston Connors.  You haven't met him yet, nor have you met each other.  But you will as the games starts.

I know during the Pulp era, they had "spicy" pulps (even though I've never read one).  I can see this a mix of traditional and extra spicy pulps.

Blinkin

Surprising as it might seem, the spicy pulps puts some of the best erotica you see today to shame. When they said spicy, they meant 5 alarm chili spicy.

They're not as well preserved as many of the bigger named pulps have been, but I've seen one and it made me put away my penthouse when I was a boy.

A thought, we should use Pulp images for our character to stay in the feel of the game. I'm thinking of using:

This is probably a dumb question at this point, but are we limited to 10 skills and 3 disadvantages? I've been rereading the Hero System sidekick for 5th edition... a great resource for those who aren't familiar with the system, and building a 150 point character with 50 points of disads is harder than I remember with just 10 skills.

Sorry to have fallen so far behind.  I've had computer issues lately.  Still am.  Currently borrowing my mother's computer while I wait for my computer guy to wake up.

I'm all in favor of non con and/or bondage in this story.  I do enjoy the idea of heroines in lascivious peril when defeated.  It fits especially well with pulp and comic books.

I haven't started building yet because I haven't known which edition I should be working out of?

I have both fifth and sixth, and if there are splatbooks I should be getting, I'm happy too.

Have a question for the GM.

Since it looks like I'm aiming at the only male character in the game, I'm thinking 2 things.

1. switching it al to a female pilot with the same character stats... gotta figure out a girl can punch like a sledge hammer...

Or, seeing if our illustrious GM would be interested in a little background of said male character having encountered some female badguy in the past and having something of a love-hate on and off relationship. There's all of the attraction of opposites and forbidden desires with the "You're a badguy, I can't believe that we did that... no, don't do tha-... ok, maybe I can believe that we did that... a little to the left..." sort of thing?

It might add a little humor, a little drama, a little spice to the overall story and I would love to have something besides being the lone male among a bunch of women who probably wouldn't like the smell of his cheap cigars. lol

We will be using 150 point hero characters.
6th edition.
If you don't know 6th or hero games. I can convert your character based on the  information above.

Blinkin,  I like your ideas.   I will have a male character in the game.  So only change if you want to.

I have 5th ed, but not 6th. It came out after my tabletop group broke up, so we never used it.

I can give you a 5th ed character for conversion.

Would be happy to work out some background to make interactions interesting.

That would be great.   5th is fine .  And so far, no one has a solid background yet.  So, when I get off work today,  I can help anyone who needs help.

How many points in complications?  The "competent hero" level was 175 + 50... will 150 be enough, given the cost increases in 6 from the lack of figured characteristics?

I always mess up on that.  150 points total, 50 from complications.  So it's 100 + 50

Totally interested, but all I know of Hero System is that it's percentile based. I'd be looking to play the pilot with the seaplane, but it looks like that role's filled. But I can play the two-fisted, long-haired co-pilot/mechanic in the Hawai'ian shirt.

Not exactly 1930's style, but something could probably fit.

Unless 6E changed drastically, everything except damage is based on 3D6; damage varies based upon weapon, talents and so on.

We need a copilot and mechanic.  Not sure if Hawaiian shirt fits the genre.

Most rolls are 3d6, and you try to roll low.  3 ones always hits and does max damage.    3 sixes always misses AND something bad happens. .. firing pin breaks, gun jams, falls on face...  that sort of thing

I have made some major edits.

I have moved everything to small group system (Hero Games) Non con
I have updated my links
I have updated my character sheet.
I have changed my image to a pulp image.

I hope my players get their characters done soon.  I'm getting excited to get started.

Remember, let me know if you need help making a character.

Wasn't Jacques, Indy's getaway pilot at the beginning of Raiders wearing a Hawai'ian shirt and a Yankees ball cap?

So, how do I make a character who is good at fixing things, flying things, and punching things? And passable at shooting things and gambling and the ladies?
