The Cooperative In discussion
Inspired by J.G Ballard’s High Rise
They had known one another since childhood. Their bond was strong, and when they married, life seemed complete. Both were professionals, childless, and given their lifestyles, children were never an option nor were they desired or wanted. They decided to sell their house. It was pointless to have—to maintain it, to have the expenses of upkeep—given that they traveled most of the time, or spent far too many hours at work. An apartment was secured—shares bought in a Cooperative apartment building—and while all seemed perfect, the building was a like a world unto its own, and the tenants, they lived their lives following different norms, different laws from the outside world …and nothing would ever be the same again.
Notes: Seeking a partner to write from the male perspective, and one who is comfortable creating and writing ‘NPCs’, and developing plot. Themes that may be explored are: drug and alcohol use, violence, murder, adultery, socioeconomic differences, and sexual exploration.
