Ever since humans have met the elves, relations were tense. Elves were scared that humans would disturb the forest they live in, but their expertise at guerrilla tactics means that an assault by the humans would be very costly. Not understanding each other, the humans and elves lived in an uneasy truce.
A young female human scholar (YC) wanted to learn of that culture, and sent a request to be allowed to study their way of living via what little diplomatic contacts they had. To her surprise, her request was granted, with the concession that she would have to be escorted by one of their scouts (MC). Said scout, barely a teen by elven standards volunteered when he heard of the request since he too was eager to learn about the new neighbors of his tribe... But as the elves are free spirits about many things and do share few taboos with humans, it will likely result in some culture shock for the scholar...
