I recently made a thread for a group roleplay idea that generated some interest, but didn't seem to really go anywhere.  Some of that may have been due to me being a bit picky with what I was looking for (though I try not to overdo it).  But there was also a fair bit of people not following up on their initial expressions of interest and failing to respond to queries.  So now I've got a thread with about twenty posts and very little that's actually been firmed up despite that.

That bugs me because it seems messy.  What I'd like to do is get rid of the current request thread and start a fresh one with a introduction revised in light of the experience I've gained from the first thread.  What I'm wondering is if that would be a permissible course of action to take.

If you're making significant changes to an idea, you can restart it.  The bumping policy refers to simply adding a 'no content' post to the end of a thread to move it to the top.

Okay, thank you for the clarification.  There isn't really that much new, but there is a bit, and I think I've given some things renewed emphasis by putting them in the first post.
