Mildly curious: Hidden?

I see, sometimes, on the who's watching a particular topic or thread 'name, name, (+1 hidden)'.  What is the hidden?  Is that mods/admin doing a check in to make sure we aren't running rampant?

All members of E can chose to be hidden and their name will not show up.  It's a function that can be found in everyone's profile.  For instance, I am hidden right now so when I am looking at a thread, it will add +1 hidden (or more if there are several hidden people looking).

It is possible to hide your online status. It can be found under Profile --> Account Settings --> unchecking the "Show others my online status" box.
