Come on in, don't be shy! I won't bite. I mean, unless you really want
me to. Like, if that's your thing, no judgments here! But seriously, I'm a fairly polite and open-minded person. I want that to be understood and emphasized from the get-go. I will never go out of my way to make you feel lousy. That's just not my style.A Little About Me:
Let's see...Where do I start? I've been involved in the role-play racket for about ten years
, give or take. I wouldn't make the bold claim of saying I've written every genre under the sun, but the fact is that I have a significant level of experience with writing/RPing. As a result, I can be somewhat selective
when it comes to who I choose to write with. I'm not terribly picky, but needless to say I am mostly interested in writing with individuals who fall within the same skill level. That probably sounds a little condescending, so I apologize in advance. I just want to be clear that if I do not display interest in you that it isn't anything personal. Specific details about me (age, location, etc.) can easily be found in my Elliquiy profile.)
Want to know more? Well...just ask. Like I said, I'm a pretty open book! What I Like To Write:
Still on the same page? Fantastic! On we go, then.
As I previously stated, I haven't written every kind of story there is but I do have preferences when it comes to storytelling. My strong suit would definitely be modern/contemporary plots and settings
, although it is understandable that stories of such a nature can be a bit mundane. With that said, I do genuinely attempt to devise and develop intriguing scenarios that fall under this umbrella. In terms of genres, I am open to most, including but not limited to: romance, action/adventure, mystery, horror, crime, drama, taboo
or any combination of the above. I am also no stranger to fandoms
, so that is another route that can be taken. I do tend to prefer portraying portraying canon characters
in this instance, as a forewarning. Please note that I am at most times very open to suggestions, so if you have an idea or plot that you want to slide my way, feel free. How I Write:
I tend to stick to the forum/thread
method. To me it is the most reliable way of keeping a story organized. I write in third person perspective
and in the past tense
, to be clear. In terms of gender
I can comfortably take on male or female
roles. The relationships I portray will be strictly heterosexual
, though. Who I Write With:
Like I said before, I can be picky about my partners. It's just a fact that I cannot change. If you PM me and don't get a reply, don't take it as an insult. Admittedly, I have sent messages to prospective partners and never received anything back in some cases. It's not something that should be taken personally, believe me. Elliquiy is a rich and diverse community with some spectacular wordsmiths. So the chances of you finding someone with similar interests and all is pretty likely, right? Why focus on what could have been and not focus on what could be? More to the point, I have zero preference in regard to your real life gender.
You're a girl who plays guys? A guy who plays girls? I could care less. What matters to me is the story and the characters. I do like to get to know my partners and be friends with them if it's possible, but the point is that I am not going to be bothered if your true gender and character gender are different. I care about the writing first and foremost, so there's no point in getting caught up in the other details. Post Length?!
I'm not going to break anyone's legs on this one. I typically prefer one-three detailed paragraphs
but this is not a hard and fast rule. It really depends on the story and who I'm writing with. Sometimes a partner's post is so good that inspiration strikes and I am able/feel compelled to write more in response. I never want my partners to feel obligated and try to produce novel-sized posts. So rest assured, I won't bite your head off over post length. Unless it's like...ridiculously short.Plot v Smut!
A very important topic to breach, I think. Personally I am a fan of both of these elements in my writing although the fact is that most stories I have engaged in fail to find a 50/50 split. To be honest it really depends on what the current interests are for me and/or my partner and what the story is. Fair enough? How Long Is Too Long To Wait?
With RL coming first, I definitely don't expect a post every day. But if you can manage it, that's great. I'm also not the kind of person who is going to pester you for a post. Please show me the same courtesy. I'd like to think I am pretty lenient on this, but there isn't really an official 'policy' in place. It depends on my partner, mostly. How To Get In Touch:
A private message is the best way. I also have Skype, though, if anyone wants to use that for OOC/plotting.
I think that covers most of the pertinent information...This thread will likely be continually updated as I go along. Now then, let's get to the ideas, shall we?
