"non-https content" tag warning
« on: April 02, 2014, 07:19:46 PM »
I've got E set to load in https mode, just like many people here, but is there a way to locally switch off the pop-up sign telling me that "Some content on this page was not delivered in a secure way - do you still want to view it? Answer yes or no"? That kind of sign (generated from the browser) always slows down the loading of a page, and it comes up most of the time here (it's even more irritating on some news sites that make it kick in simply because the page contains link tags for social media or Google+ at the bottom of articles and so on - on that kind of site it may turn the loading of every single page into a real snoozer). The purpose of that kind of alert is easy to understand, but I actually trust that the site and its hotlinked banners, youtube videos, avies and so on isn't going to infect my computers or other devices.

I tried adding https://elliquiy.com  to the list of trusted sites in the browsers (IE 8 and Firefox) but it didn't seem to have any effect. Any other workarounds?

Have you updated Firefox? IT shouldn't show by default, though that may be a setting...

about:config
filter by mixed
set security.warn_viewing_mixed  to false

Thanks Psi, I'll try that!

It's not an issue of outdated versions. Firefox is the latest version, both at home and at work, and IE can't be updated further since it's on an XP machine (which I intend to keep in xp even though support is tapering off).
