And some threads!

http://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=178662.0: OOC thread
http://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=178661.0: Character thread

The only vote I saw for the guild's name was Nicci's "The Sultry Paw".  Everyone else OK with the name or want to propose a new one?

Magician's Boudoir, the Mage's Guild, capable of handling any job, no matter the difficulty!  Specializing in adventure, intrigue, and finding lost pets!  Now hosting a local restaurant run and manned by guild members, the Prestidelicious with themed costumes worn by the staff, and performing the one and only Bewitched Burlesque show weekly!

If I could applaud any harder I would. I could totally emcee a burlesque / cabaret show. I have.. most of the skills for it.

I too vote for the Magician's Boudoir as the name.

Thank you for the city run down, glad there's a large forest near by.  ;D

Just in case anyone ends up wondering later, I made a houserule for Yugi's character and gave the kitsune's Change Shape ability to merfolk, with the drawback that they lose the natural armor bonus while in human form.  So Marissa won't end up completely left behind when you guys aren't underwater.

Cool beans, there's enough transformation stuff out there that it's pretty easy to ensure he's included (see Olivia's feather).

We do kinda sound like a magical sex store now.  Is our niche market enchanted dildos?  'Cause this does put a very different twist on a trickster transmuter.

It'd be weird seeing Marissa forging rings for ring gags.

I did put together stats for a Ballgag of Blindness and Deafness for a previous adventure....

Well I'll probably go ahead with an Elf definitely, still having issues deciding on a class though heh. Not sure if I want to go cleric with this one, thinking more naturey & druidy.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

What all do we have so far?

Edit: Any way to get a dexterous spear wielder? Weapon Finesse only works on light weapons(and a select few others) :-/

I can let you houserule something.  Right now I'm looking at just letting you take the elven curve blade and retheme it as a spear; any specific abilities you'd want to give to it, though?

I forge rings. And piercings. And various other metal objects. I also make... anything magic!

Nature Clerics could work too, maybe using an archetype of some sort.  There's also the Nature/Wood mysteries for the Oracle.  A witch could work with the picture (though that's more on the fringe of things).  The Treesinger Druid archetype for Elves might be neat too.

As far as using Dex for attack rolls, there's really only a handful of weapons that it works with like you said, and I don't know of any off the top of my head that would work with a spear.  :-(

Basically just happy being able to use Dex for spears instead of Str. What would be the best way to do that? Just a weapon refluff? Or an additional feat that has Weapon Finesse as a prereq?

Thinking longspear.

For the character I am planning that she is based in the forest, member of the guild that checks in regularly. Pretty much nature's emissary in the city. Would that work, does it fit with the campaign world?

Would you be ok with a spear that doesn't have reach or brace but works with weapon finesse?  Or is reach necessary for the character?

Reach would be preferable aye. I haven't done much planning. At this point pretty much using the picture for inspiration for character creation. Not even sure about druid.

So, I mentioned this in PMs but never in the main thread:

Item creation feats specifically allow the player to start with spending the cost for an item instead of the normal price out of their starting gold.  However, I'm still capping that at only half of your starting gold can be spent on item cost, as the assumption is that you still need to do something to actually earn all that gold that doesn't involve sitting around crafting magic items all day.

Specifically, you can get both belts with +4 for 16k total, and spend another 17k on the armor (for both mithral material and the enchantment, which you can't make yourself, as that requires the Craft Magic Arms and Armor feat), but that puts you exactly at your limit, which means you can't learn any spells beyond the free ones you get each level.

I actually meant for that to be a +3 and not a +4. mithral chain shirt. It's even reflected as a plus three in the AC bonus I just missed that particular issue. I didn't want to go over half my starting gold on one item, and with all the other things I have I would be over the 33,000. After all I wouldn't have even been able to afford my own components pouch after that.

Noted.  Looks good, then.

Channel Smite into Guided Hand could be another possibility if you go Cleric (or some other class that has the Channel Energy class feature.  It's not Dex, but would let you use your primary casting stat (wis) for attacking with a spear, assuming you followed a deity that favored that weapon.

Having trouble deciding on a class currently.

Heh, when looking at the picture, what class does it scream?

For me, there's several candidates.

But with the mages guild, I'm thinking more arcane than divine.

Well again, we really NEED divine. What about Oracle? There are some great options there.

I'll look into it, but I'm honestly not sure about divine at this point.

Thinking maybe a nature themed bard, witch is also something new I've yet to ever play.

Edit: I see the character spending alot of time in the forest. What ways could she keep in contact with the guild? Would it be possible for a teleportation rune to be set up in her favorite glade/grove? Though guessing that would be quite expensive. How close is one of the teleportation rune towns to the forest?

Personally I prefer to coming up with a concept before finding a picture for this very reason  ;)

Of course if you want elves, I can give you elves!

Also, witches get healing magic and are Arcane casters.
