"GOOD evening, ladies and gentlemen of the audience, and welcome, welcome to the last show from the Magician in Masquerade!

"But please, do not despair my dear audience, for I will return soon. You see, my lovely assistant Madeline - yes Madeline, give the audience a twirl! She is a beauty, is she not, ladies and gents? But alas, she has decided to move on to pastures green. I must vanish from the ether as I train my new assistant, for a magician without his assistant is like a man without a heart.

"But, enough! It is time for my greatest display of magic! For tonight, I shall make a member of the audience disappear before your eyes! You see, my dear audience, this trunk? It is supported upon the table, with no way out other than the open lid? See how Madeline can walk all about it, run her arm underneath? It is truly a trunk with no escape!

"So, a volunteer! Ah yes, you, the raven-haired beauty in the second row. Please, don't be shy! Give this fine woman a round of applause ladies and gentleman! Please my dear, step up, step up into the trunk! Your safety is guaranteed...

"And so as our lovely volunteer enters the trunk Madeline seals her in. Escape is now impossible. But, with wave of my hand....

"Yes, thank you, thank you ladies and gentlemen, thank you! As you can now see the trunk is empty, devoid of life and my lovely volunteer. But where is she you ask? Ahh, that my most curious audience is a secret only the Magician in Masquerade can know!"
