The Shogun's RP idea.

Okay, this is a semi-nation Roleplay, in the fact that a player not only controls a character of their choice, but their subsequent army as well.

You do not control a nation, nor do you hire other players, you ARE your military force.

Now, to the main details.

Time Period:-

The Sengoku Jidai Era (Feudal Japan, around the 1500's)

The Goal:-

To destroy all opposition, whilst maintaining your own forces.

The Current Climate:-

Military: The Oda Clan are rising swiftly, the Takeda-Uesugi coalition has just been formed, the Hojo currently have no military, and new peasant militia are rising.

Militia Units

Enoki, Ritsu:- 10,000 Peasants.
Personal Guard of 100 Ninja.

No officers.

Satoshi Inaba:- 10,000 Peasants.
Personal Guard of 100 Samurai.

No Officers.


Political: The Oda are assimilating clans rapidly, including the Toyotomi, Akechi, Tokugawa and the newly formed Tachibana-Shimazu alliance.

Who are you?:-

Players will take on the role of a Militia leader. these Militia can number from 1 force, to 20, so a maximum of 20 Custom players. and players CAN NOT take on any of the Canon clan leaders.

Canon Clan's

Oda.
Hojo.
Takeda-Uesugi Coalition.
Saiga. (Saika, depending on how you wish to spell it)
Date.

Starting Forces:-

All Players will start with 10,000 Peasants, nothing else.

I will be in control of all Canon clans, and they will only appear in battle, I will be playing a Militia force, but that will NOT take a slot from a player, so, myself and 20 others, max.

Okay, that's that, if I get some interest, I'll post a Character sheet, remember, posting a character automatically gives you a Militia Force.

Once the sheet is down, if a player submits another sheet, that character is now one of our officers, if that makes sense?

Age: (Must be at least 14, which was the age that one could become a combatant at the time.)

Class: (This determines your Personal unit, the classes will be posted below.)

Weapon: (Have fun with this, each weapon is unique to the character.)

Points/Exp. (This will change with every battle, and there is no limit to how much a character can accumulate.)

Archer (Personal Unit of 100 Peasants [Meat shield.])
Rider (Personal Unit of 100 Cavalry)

Skills:-

Tactics: Allows greater damage in mass battle, army is more likely to successfully Ambush the enemy.
Training: Grants bonus EXP at the end of each battle.
Assault: Increases attack power for Samurai Units.
Battery: Increases attack power for Musket and Archer units.
Wall: Increases Defense for all units.
Ascension: Increases rate of recruitment.
Mentor: Allows your Troops level's to increase faster.
Charge: Increases own Attack.
Rage: Allows the use of Special attacks more frequently.
Carnage: Increases special attack power.
Limber: Increases own Speed.
Taunt: Allows PVP duel challenges. (Can be denied)
Cutthroat: Prevents defection.
Charity: Adds an extra 25% to any troops sent to assist allies.

(More skills may appear, and, at 50,000 EXP, one can gain a new skill, a second new skill is awarded at 100,000 Points)

Can I please please please do a shinobi clan? I'm no good with the military, but if you give me a small group of spies/assassins to work with, I can do some damage. Shinobi were also very prominent in this time period, so I figured I'd at least give it a shot. :)

You can eventually upgrade your troops to Ninja, however, you can have your 10,000 Peasants, and, when you create your character, have 'Ninja' as the Class, and then, you get 100 personal troops of your own choice.

However, you still need to order your main army, the Personal Unit is more a bodyguard unit.

The whole point of the game is to conquer Japan and unite it under your own banner, so, your army is your currency, the upgrade system will come into play once everyone has participated in combat, since you're going to need EXP to upgrade.

Then, you can have your army of Ninja, haha.

I didn't want an army... just maybe 30 or so ninja to harass other characters with. >:) It's cool though Shogun. I'm just not good with this style. :)

Question, how is the Exp going to work, just arbitrarily, or do you have a system worked out? Also, how much accurate historical background should we have for this?

Historical background isn't compulsory, if you have knowledge, then that's awesome :)

Also, the idiot that I am, forgot about appearance o.O

Either way, she's accepted :3

I'll wait for one or two more people before we go on.

As for the Experience, I have a system worked out, lets just say that you have a current and total score, so, say if I had 10,000 EXP currently, but had gained 12,000 over the course of the game, then, I'd have 10,000/12,000 under my EXP/Points on my sheet (We'll need to keep track of that a lot.)

And using that EXP, you can improve your units, so, you can use the points to improve your Peasants to Samurai, or train them in another specialization, such as Archery, or Ninjutsu, it's up to you how you use it, but, the system won't be revealed until some people actually have some points :3
