Okay, so I feel more than a little insane here, but excited too. I'm sending out an invitation too:
To play in a celestial level game that I run.
I have some core ideas about it, but want to know if people would prefer the An-Teng region, the South, the South-East (jungles) or the East.
The story will have plenty of adventure, intrigue and over the top action, but we'll also be rebuilding at least one lost metropolis--perhaps as a haven for those persecuted by the Realm? Or even as the seat of a new solar lead nation?
I suppose the North could work too.
Something i specifically want to address is directional gender politics:
--The south is a patriarchy with strong gender rolls. There's plenty of things a girl can do on an adventure, both inside and outside of the system, but it's a good region if we want some submissive girl themes.
--The East is a Matriarchy. The basic family unit is the mother or grandmother and her brothers, raising the mother's children (and possibly grandchildren.) Matriachs don't tend to stick to one man--though they often have a couple of favorites who either come and go or settle down in their household. The makes the east good for 'free love' themes. It's also a good place for 'girl power' stories. Elder daughters tend to have political power and business acumen, not to mention know how to defend what's there's by whatever means necessary. Younger daughters--unable to inherit--take up all kinds of professions--including adventuring mercenary and scavenger lord--too enjoy their youths and eventually earn up enough to start a household of their own.
--The north is pretty egalitarian, and a good place in which to tell a love story recognizable to the modern world. Also a nice place to snuggle up together under a big comforter to ride out the snow. :)
--The west has rather stronger gender rolls than the south, though still has socially acceptable ways to flaunt them.
