Martial arts can be a unifying thread for a lot of people who might otherwise not even meet. They can have all sorts of things going on in their personal life, and be there for different reasons. How would the Dojo and what they learn there mold their psyche however? So the way I see this game going in a best case scenario? Would likely be two threads. One for the events that happen at the actual dojo, and a thread for the character's personal lives outside of the Dojo.

The Institute of Self Defense is a Dojo that teaches a variety of martial arts. Students of all kinds are welcomed into an environment that encourages hard work, honor and respect. Life, especially in a major city can be trying at times. So the Institute is there to provide an environment away from all of that where people can form and build relationships with people who share their interests. Whether you are wanting to learn self defense, or improve yourself? We offer a wide range of classes for both civilians, law enforcement, amateur & professional fighters as well as military personnel.

Characters: This is a game based on realism in all sense of the word, that also goes for fighting styles even in the instructors. You have to factor in the years it'd take to learn a style and where the character's origin lies. Some more obscure styles are just about impossible to find stateside. If you've ever seen Redbelt? That is a good representation of what to expect from the game.

What I am looking for in terms of characters? A Founder/Master of the Dojo. They can be any ethnicity and they'd have to be at least in their mid 40's if not older. The instructors who'd teach the classes and train with those who want to fight. The Senior Students who would have a black belt to their credit and assist the instructors. Otherwise varying students of different rankings and backgrounds including some newbies. I'm looking for people who just want to learn self defense, or maybe some who want to go to tournaments or practice MMA and some who are learning because they want to or already work in a field where they'd need it.

If this game sounds interesting? Please feel free to comment, if there's enough interest? We can proceed from there.
