Wheel of Time
« on: October 03, 2007, 07:31:29 AM »
Are there any established Wheel of Time games running? If not anyone interested in starting one?

I know there is a d20 system, but I never played it. I'd be interested in playing though .. freeform probably being easier.

Aye, it is. The system for channeling is weird but our group is using savage world rules for our game and rules kind of are simple.

The d20 system is rather easy, but the channeling and use of the powers is rather...well, somebody who made the damn rules could have given it some better thought. The last time my group did a tabletop game, we really overhauled that section of the book, but really to each their own. :)

Regardless, for years now, I've been dying to play a female Blademaster bonded to a crazy male channeler...so if one ever finds a GM of sorts, I would be interested that is if there is a person out there willing to play that crazy male channeler.

Ah! My favourite char concept; Male channelers :). I even have very old concept what I could play out. He is not 'crazy' yet (likely at least consideirng we start low level) but eventually he will be.

I'd play if it was free form... I'd love to try playing an Aes Sedai... never tried it before.

It's been ages since I read the books, but I might be interested.  Hmm, perhaps a Mord Sith??

I'm probably more interested in freeform than system.

Mord Sith? Sure you're not thinking the Shannara books?

Pretty sure I don't recall any Mord Sith in the WoT.

If you're not in a group full of rules lawyers, the Wheel of Time d20 is all right, and I'd love to play my Maiden of the Spear Meridy, she's a bit of an odd fish.  ^_^;;

Must. Restrain. Nerd. In. Me.
...
Failed.

Mord Sith is from the Laws of Magic by Terry Goodkind. Terry Brooks didn't have something similar in his Shanara series.

But to the point.

I would love to play in a Wheel of Time game, but my memory of the events in the books is very limited. Robert Jordan lost me with his story, not with his world.

As for a character concept. Male channelers are fun. But lacking those, I'd play a Green.

Yeah, I know, I was thinking of the wrong series. I haven't read the Terry Goodkind ones.

Well, if no one else is intrested, I could try to duplicate the tabletop game I was running?

Out of curiosity, if you do decide to run a WoT game, Muse, would it be d20 or freeform?
