This is rather funny

http://news.aol.com/story/_a/lawmaker-sues-god-for-terror-threats/20070918085609990001?ncid=NWS00010000000001

A senator sues God.  "The defendant in a state senator's lawsuit is accused of causing untold death and horror and threatening to cause more still. He can be sued in Douglas County, the legislator claims, because He's everywhere."

This was apparently to show that anyone can sue anyone for anythng, in response to what he thought was a unnecassary lawsuit. lol I found it amusing

I wonder if I can countersue him?

I mean, if he can sue god, can I sue him for being a senator?

If it's possible to sue someone for slandering a 3rd party, you could.
Because there's no way in hell(or heaven) he can prove that god was at the scene of the crime.

I was thinking more along the lines of sueing him because he represents the government and the government has fucked things up badly.   :P

But that wouldn't be a frivolous lawsuit at all. ;)

Well the people of St. Rita's Nursing Home used a defense like that for themselves.  Their defense basically said that if we can be sued for our slow response involving our patients to the hurricane, than the city of New Orleans can be sued for their poor response.  Kind of an interesting parallel there.

Shouldn't that be a point in my favor though? No way the Big D will miss this chance to mess with the Heavenly Tyrant. :)

No way to prove it, though. Invisible god.
Plus, proving him is blasphemy. He'd be less than cooperative.

For that to succeed, they have to prove that God is real. Which will throw the athiests(sp) into a fit. After all, if god is real, there goes their belief that he doesn't exist.

Not only that, they have to prove that it's the God that he's sueing.

It proves that, in America, you can sue anyone for anything as long as you have enough money and a sleazy lawyer. Besides I wouldn't mess with Gods lawyers, would you?

Wouldn't that work as an alibi for God as well?

Not reall because it wouldn't matter if Michael the Archangel could vouch that god was at the pub in heaven getting a drink, because God could be there and be at the scene of the crime at the same time.

Well if happen to prove God exists, they will have a hell of a time trying to issue him a subpoena!  :)
