Chicago casts a long shadow...

When we were children, our mothers took our hands and lead us to our beds. We were given water, or warm milk, and a reassuring kiss. The shadow in the closet or shape under the bed was nothing. It was all in our minds. Monsters aren't real, she would say, tucking the covers around us as the warmth lulled us to sleep. As we aged, we stopped looking for those shadows. We stopped hearing those bumps in the night. Mother's voice ringing in our ears. Monsters aren't real. We ignored the signs. We turned our back as people disappeared, as an already cold city grew frigid. Eventually, a fire grows so strong that even though you missed its light, you feel its heat. Monsters aren't real. She assured us, and we believed her. We were rocked to sleep as their cancer spread. Now dear friends, it's time to wake. Monsters are real, and Chicago is swollen with them.

The Story

Chicago has recently become more dangerous. While most of the city, along with it's leaders, continue to deny it. The city is being slowly overrun with all sorts of monsters. Ghosts, vampires, werewolves, succubi, demons...everything. No one knows exactly what's drawing them in, but they are coming. Perhaps they don't even know why they are gathering themselves, but they still come. What will happen when it reaches critical mass? What is pulling them all here? Can it be stopped?

Welcome! Thanks for checking us out! This is a fun, friendly group based around the paranormal, and the idea of hunters versus monsters in a shared world. We got quite a few messages of interest with the initial thread, so this thread is to put out a feeler and see if we have anyone interested now that we have a more realized idea for this world. This group is designed for play with "hunters" and "monsters". Hunters are typically human, seeking to stop the evil spread of monsters in the city. Monsters can be any sort of species, but a monster's power set and species will have to fit the game and not be too powerful.

This is an OC game, set in an OC world based upon modern day Chicago, with OC characters.

We are looking for more active players for this setting. We would like writers who can devote enough time to complete at least two posts per week.

We welcome any race, religion, color, sexuality or creed. Everyone is welcome. The only requirement is that you and your character must be 18 plus.
