I know what you mean, E can definitely seem and feel enormous.
But remember, you don't have to take in all of E at the same time. Hell you don't need to take in all of it in one go.
It is not like most sites and communities where you know what's going on everywhere at the same time. It is too big a place for something like that and even attempting that would be an entirely silly endeavour.

That said, I do enjoy my walks down random threads hunting down stray posts, ideas and stories I haven't seen or heard before!

Haha if I may recommend something: if you pop on a thread that you like/would like to respond to later, there is an "Add bookmark" button. That way, it's bookmarked for you on E directly and you can get to those threads easily.
I bookmark potential RP partners, RP threads, social threads and whatever else!
