Vampires in Raccoon City? [NCE, LGBTQIA+ Friendly, Interest Check]

Now that I've got your attention let me backpeddle a bit, the concept for this game is a bunch of survivors and sentient BOWs working together to escape the city, with those BOWs being people who've contracted a T-Virus mutation similar to the one that produced the Suspended and the Lickers (especially the thinner ones from Outbreak). The 'vampires' are infected people who've become stronger and more agile, along with having the ends of their fingers grow into sharp claws, having mutated pointed teeth and who no longer appear on most BOW radars as tasty treats, but all whilst still being capable of speech and retaining their minds. They are still living beings in a sense and need to eat raw flesh to survive, with their hunger an ever present concern for both themselves and their fellow survivors.

The conflict from this game will come from how willing the other survivors will be to keep these flesh hungry infected around, whilst needing them to help eliminate any zombies that get in their way... alternatively, the whole group could just let themselves get infected with this strain of the virus and the plot would then shift to them praying on NPC survivors to fulfill their gnawing hunger as they try to escape the nuke they don't yet know is on their way.

For now I'm just looking for interest and suggestions, including if people would prefer this to be rules light or a system game (with me as GM either way).

With the survivors all trapped together just before or after the ‘vampires’ begin to mutate but with the group quickly realising that these infected are still sentient.

Honestly I don't know any of those systems but I am willing to learn.

All Flesh Must Be Eaten is the most extensive and one of the oldest zombie RPGs, with rules from everything from Fantasy, Wresting, Westerns, Ninjas AND Pirates, Sci-Fi, Pulp fiction and so on.

Zed Or Alive is actually a miniatures game that's part squad based tactics, part roleplay. It's based on Savage Worlds and is similar to Necromunda and Mordheim, I'd of course be loosening the rules a bit with this a typically it's faction vs faction and there's equipment restrictions and so on.

The first has lots of material and mechanics that encourage roleplaying and the second is more combat focused, with easy character creation and replacement, along with simplified rules for things like crafting, trading and scavenging.

Either way, I more than happy to walk people through it all :)

Combat isn't absolutely necessary for me so All Flesh Be Eaten seems like a system I would like.
And please keep the vampire part. It adds a twist and leaves more to creativity than the already build and set up original RE world.

Second for all flesh must be eaten. I'm primarily interested for the survival horror element that a resident evil game would have, but I think having creatures around that the characters need to survive but who don't have their best interests in mind is a neat dynamic.

Okay, well it sounds like All Flesh Must Be Eaten will be the one we're going with. So with only three players, it would probably work best with two humans and one t-vampire OR three humans and one NPC t-vampire... did anyone have a preference to be the infected?

I'll be human too. Do we have to know lore from the RE series as a whole or just RE2 ? Because I must admit RE5 and RE6 didn't play them and consider that they never existed.

No, it's not necessary to be lore buffs, especially of stuff from the ancillary media. This game will be set in its own AU (much like Operation Raccoon City), will be heavily influenced by the Resident Evil 2 remake and will also borrow characters and locations from other titles set in Raccoon City, such as Nemesis and the Outbreak duo.

Now the game that served as the basis for All Flesh Must Be Eaten is legally available for free from DriveThruRPG, so if you don't want to invest in a whole new game system (or pirate it) then you're welcome to just download its predecessor and I can walk you through the differences between the two: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/692/CJ-Carrellas-WitchCraft
