Marina Kuromiya had a pleasant and simple life a sophomore at a top rate cooking school, she had wonderful satisfactory grades and a good home life with her folks… despite the mostly playful jokes about asking when she might move out or get married… not that it bugs her, she knows they are just teasing. Her mom anyway, she is pretty sure her Japanese father would love it if she got married to a suitable gentleman.

However, life takes an unexpected and sorrowful turn when her paternal grandfather in Japan passes away and leaves it to his son and his family to settle things with the family estate in Kyoto.

So, getting a week vacation approved by her school, Marina goes with her parents to Japan to help clean out and grab what sentimental things they want before the estate is sold.

Upon arriving, Marina’s curious nature gets her into trouble… her father said there was instructions left in her grandfather’s hand that no one was to go near the small black shrine-like temple in the rear of the estate… but that just makes Marina all the more curious…

Okay, so essentially, Marina is going to enter the temple, find herself transported through a portal into the immortal realm of the yokai, the portal blinking into non-existence behind her and… leaving her right smack dab into the middle of a dark forest in the middle of the night… when it was clearly morning on the other side in the human realm…

My idea was that she’d run into a yokai of some kind (not kitsune, too overdone) would find her and at first, attempt to attack and eat her, but she remembers something her grandfather had told her about yokai, that the only thing they love to eat more than the soft flesh of a human female… is exquisitely prepared human cuisine… so she offers to cook for him and if he doesn’t like it… then he can go ahead and eat her!

But when the Yokai tastes her cooked meal in his home… he decides he loves it and declares he will not eat Marina, but he won’t let her go either… he will marry her...
