It's not all about parades...

June is the official GLBT Pride month since 2001.

But not everyone knows that it is not all about doing parades and whatnot.

It all has a serious background and goes back to the year 1969, the birth year of the modern GLBT Rights Movement. It has it's roots in the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village in New York City.

Thank you for being curious. :-)

I go to the celebration every year in order to patronize the vendors there (who deserve our business for supporting us!), but the last few parades have been disappointing. I do everything I can to support the community, though.
