What would be her role on the ship? Counselor? Helm? Medical? Other?
Helm or Other most likely. Medical/Counselling isn't my thing.

I'm thinking for now keeping my character out of the transporter accident. For one, somebody has to man the ship, and for two, I think between the KZin already aboard, and the CO becoming a Kzinrette, there's enough trouble to go around. :D

Out of curiosity, how do folkd RP Kzin? I wrote with a guy a few years back, who in the canon he followed, Kzinrette were sub-sapient, or more correctly, not taught anything beyond the basics of obdience to their mate, some basic skills about keeping home, and how to raise their cub. Beyond that they existed solely for the male KZin's pleasure.

I think it best if the transporter accident only affect a handful of people while the others try to continue the mission. I don't want the transporter mishap to overshadow everything else. There is enough plot aside from that for people to enjoy.

I will create a game Data Library in which we can post information about our characters and the setting.

Regarding race, I will post more detailed info in the races section of the Data Library. This may include some things that are not common knowledge.

For example, it is widely believed due to the Star Trek Enterprise series, that Orion females are the actual rulers in which their hormones control the men. However the actual lore is they once controlled the men, but there was a Civil War in which the men overthrew the women. Now the men have enslaved their woman to ensure that they are never controlled again.

More drastically, regarding the Kzinri,  Kzinrette are not even regarded as people by the Kzinti. They are regarded more as pets and chattel. They are tested from a young age and any kzinrette that are found to be intelligent are euthanized. There are a few that slip through the cracks, but most kzinrette are only able to manage a few dozen words and commands. They are intentionally bred to be dumb, obedient and playful. This would be considered an heinous social crime in the Federation, but it is simply the way of life among the Kzin. Also as a result of this, male Kzinti often do not regard the females of alien races as intelligent or at least they tend to underestimate them and offer them no respect.

Well Orion women are pretty assertive at times. Tenzi in ST: Lower Decks is a hot mess normally but when she lets her pirate upbringing to come out she’s very dominant n

Rune

True. There are those that rebel against the new order, that is why some have immigrated to the federation.

So my Orion could apply to get Federation citizenship?

Rune

that could be tricky. See the episode 'Lolani' for reasons why. Basically the Orions claim all Orion woman as property. They would view the federation allowing citizenship as theft. However, many escaped have 'disappeared' behind Federation borders and exceptions can always be made depending upon the circumstances.

Like being a human male transferee into her body? Maybe with a pheromone suppressant?

It will depend on the situation and how much of a fuss the Orion delegate makes. If you could convince him, then maybe...

Well having multiple doctorates in biology would make her over educated.
