Is she literally an anime character?...The Far East might be a little different now.

The way I figure it, she's either from another plane or another dimension; she's not really sure which.

Her default appearance is something closer to the picture on the right, but she tends to look more human than that.

I think magic items cost "whatever the DM feels like" so just...lemme know what you're wanting and I'll give you a pricetag.

I went with 500gp for an Uncommon.  I hope that's okay.  That's the stated price in the book.

Bow using elf hexblade to oath to magical item (Vorn of Valhalla/Arvandor) was one concept I have wanted to try :). Albeit tough multiclassing to valor bard.

So, what are the plans for this?  Will we all meet up in game or start out knowing each other?  If the latter, I'd be up for a Prologues thread where various characters get to know each other, maybe in a tavern, maybe on the road...

And we have too many sorcerers as it is - and perhaps too many people and some will need to go unless Angie thinks to make 2 groups or whatever.

Angie - this really looks awesome, perhaps later if you do something similar again I can play and be fluent in dnd 5e !

No, no, do not go. I would not mind show ropes to newcomers and the best way to learn is through playing the game :). Mere reading is boring and does not teach it (as reading does not prepare for scenarios and events and such which differ by GM). Also sorcerers can be plenty unique with heritage, metamagic picks and ofc spell pics. As do with backgrounds and race picks.

Speaking as someone who’s been playing 5e since it came out, I am patient and don’t mind in the least if newbies need help with the system.  Or are you just stuck trying to make the character?

Also if do not want to be a sorcerer (feeling not duplicate one class a lot), you can try another class (or pick different heritage).

If i were to play I would love if someone else manages my character sheet an explains stuff in pms about the system. There would be a great deal of stuff to explain though as I dont really know much.

I think that I could be a co-gm for non system stuff like fleshing out the world, I do like thinking of fantasy worlds and races and mysteries and exotic monsters and stuff. I mentioned this to Angie in a pm and she liked the idea.

But, I think it all comes down to how big a group Angie is intending to support and dm/gming with.

If people HAVE to go then I think it makes sense for me to volunteer first because of my lack of understanding of the system.

AndyZ, thanks a bunch for saying so - but for things for the group to go smoothly Angie really does need people fluent in the system.

Especially if she has a big group. I thought 4 people would be a lot, but more ? - she needs all  things process related to go easily and be easily understood, I would bog stuff down I just know it and frustrate people

Unless 5e radically changed it, you do use up the Pearl for the Identify spell. Wouldn't go around using it for that. It's uncommon, so...I'll let you have it for...ahh, let's say 300.

But short answer: yes, 5e radically changed it. From the rules on components:

If a spell states that a material component is consumed by the spell, the caster must provide this component for each casting of the spell.

So unless specifically stated, spells don't consume the components. Identify calls for a pearl worth at least 100 gp, but doesn't say it's consumed. So you just need the one.
