Leverage Consulting & Associate

Leverage Consulting & Associate’s a “legitimate” business that specializes in a very specific job. If you search for them on the web you’ll find a very basic page and some cryptic mission statements about what they do. There isn’t a single phone number or email address listed on the webpage. A trip to their offices will take you to the business area of whatever city you find yourself in. Simple offices moderately high scale in nature.

They don’t have a Facebook, social media site, and you won’t find them on any online review of their services. You may find testimonials about what the corporation did for it’s clients but even that would take some serious searching.

Leverage Consulting & Associate I entirely based on word of mouth. A network of people who re there to guide you to the firm. It might be a police officer carting you out of the building, it might be a lawyer who’s fought for you, or it might be a random person on the street who simply sees YOUR in trouble. The pattern is random, and if you’re a client of Leverage you become a part of that network.

What is Leverage Consulting & Associate’s? They’re a Damocles sword hanging above the heads of every big corporation, they’re what keeps a politician up at night sweating in fear, simply put….

Their Robin Hood International.

It’s been seven years since Nate Ford and Sophie Devereaux walked away from the team they created and married. Seven years since Parker took over and along with Elliot Spencer and Alex Hardison turned Leverage into a company based all over the world. Leverage is now a worldwide force for good and specifically employs bad guys wanting to fight the system and corporate greed.

What is this game?

In this game A group of players will operate as the newest branch in the Leverage International Corporation. Where this branch is located at I’ve not yet decided. I’m thinking some place state side though I am also not opposed to something international based. London UK with it’s mega corporations also sounds like a very fun settings.

In this game a team will be tasked with going against a corporation and running a con. Heist, or play. This could run the gambit of stealing something back from them, hacking into their records, setting them up for failure, or anything of the like. This will be done not as a system game but as a freeform sandbox story.

Types Of Characters

Leverage hires bad guys, specifically bad guys that fall into a specific skill set. These are bad guys who are less the murdering type and more “striking out against the man type”. IE a hacker who does cybercrimes, or a thief who enjoys art theft, and things like that.

Primarily there are five main roles in the team.

The Mastermind: The man who calls the play, the con, and usually the shots. The Mastermind is the teams leader and the man behind the curtain. While he might get involved in other aspects of the team he mainly plays roles and calls the shot.

The Grifter: The face of the team, the grifter is a con man (or woman plain and simple). They play roles within the team and usually act as the main point of contact for the mark. That being said everyone on the team usually has to play a character or “grift” in some kind of way.

The Thief: The thief is plenty self-explainable; they get in and steal what needs to be stolen. This can be anything from lifting a phone so it can be cloned for information or something more involved like stealing physical evidence.

The Hacker: The computer, tech, IT Back Bone of the team. They can do everything from on site hacking to making alias’s and water proof identities online. The Hacker is arguably the teams most important role aside from the Mastermind… however now everyone understands what they do.

The Hitter: Last but certainly not least. The hitter is the retrieval specialist and body guard. The hitter takes care of the corporations’ goons, any unsavory people that are involved, and if needed retrieves things from fortified locations.

The Cast

While the leverage team operated as five (and only temporarily recruited if they were burned) given this has become something of a bigger corporation in the seven years I’m open to having more than one of each role.

That’s the general gist of it! I’ll post the character sheet up if I can find someone for each role. If you have any questions please let me know!

Freeform! There is an actual Leverage roleplay game but I couldn't track it down to research it.

So it'll be free form. Since the leverage team doesn't so much loss and the fun is in the cons they pull I don't think it would be the worse to do something freeform.

Sure! So the way I'm doing this is that a role being taken doesn't mean that it's off the table. Leverage in seven years has gotten really big and turned into a huge operation.

So we have our first hitter. That does not mean the role is completely taken.

Again this doesn't mean that those roles are now closed off... the leverage corporation is larger now and runs multiple teams.

However if we're talking unclaimed roles

Hacker, Mastermind.

I'm waiting to see who takes what before making my own choice. Also if anyone wants to play more than one character I'll accept a total of two.
