To start, let's forget that female dominant society stuff they are always spouting about the Drow, that whole thing never really appealed to me. No idea why, I've just never been jazzed by it.

For the first time in 500 years, the races of elves are emerging from their solitude and resuming alliances with the world, sharing wisdom, friendship and the like.
A human princess by the name is Rosalyn, of the kingdom Lumossa is thrilled and excited at the news reaching her kingdom that one these elven races will be visiting to propose an alliance and friendship with her father King Leonias... however, when they arrive... the princess and the king are uncertain what to think...

It was said by many that had seen the elves since their emergence that they were fair and ethereally beautiful, that their bodies smelled of soft subtle floral smells and light seemed to cling to their forms... but the elves that showed up in King Leonias's throne room were obsidian skinned with long stark white hair... and eyes as red as flame rubies...

Taken aback for certain, but undeterred and determined to make an alliance with one of the immortal races of elves, King Leonias welcomed them as friends and invited them all to join them that night for a grand banquet in their honor, going so far even to offer them all rooms in the palace to use during their visit.

Now, we all know that Drow elves LOVE pretty things and often surround themselves with the things they find beautiful.
My thoughts were that the King of the Drow elves would find himself so captivated by Princess Rosalyn, that he immediately begins to pursue her at the banquet in thinking to gradually persuade her to become his queen.

However, the princess is already in love with a man far below her station and refuses the king's affections, angering him and unwittingly pushing him into the decision to abduct the princess as soon as night fell and the castle's occupants fell asleep.

I am though, open to hear any tweaking to the king's pursuit of Princess Rosalyn, if you should have another idea that pops strongly into your head. I'll politely let you know if I don't like it and would prefer to go another route of pursuit.
