I've been desperately seeking a group, sandbox game, that centers around the concept of Fables (comic series), or loosely, The Wolf Among Us (Tell Tale game). It doesn't have to be a game that follows any of the active story lines or canon characters, but one that the players can make their own. People can create a character based on a fable, an old story, legend, nursery rhyme, or the like, (Little Red Riding Hood, The Big Bad Wolf, and so on) to live in the universe that was created by the comic/game.

The story takes place in Fabletown, a fictional community within modern day New York City, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. To the eyes of regular people, or non-Fables (mundies, as they are referred to by Fables), the community looks like no more than a common neighborhood. However, it is truly home to many legends of old, from all over the world. There is an extension of Fabletown, for those Fables who either wish to remain in Fable form (non-human) or cannot afford a Glamour, called the Farm, which is located in Upstate New York. Glamours are spells which allows the user to change their appearance. They are expensive, but can be purchased by non-human Fables (to maintain a human-like form) to remain within the Mundie world, without being discovered.

There are many directions for stories and connections to take place, especially considering the Fables are supposed to try blending in to the human world, in order to keep from being discovered. With the element of needing to pay for Glamours, which can be sold by witches, or cheap ones can be produced in the seedier parts of town, though they are often unreliable, Fables will need to make ends meet. Perhaps they work at an establishment with other Fables, or at a place that requires them to interact with humans on a frequent basis.

In the series, Bigby Wolf is the Sheriff and is working to solve mysterious murders, though that element doesn't necessarily need to be included. The game, instead, can largely be focused on the differences between Fables and the struggle to maintain their Fable-dom without humans being aware of their existence.

Plenty of Wiki pages exist out there, to give more background for the universe and terminology, though I would prefer to keep from discouraging people who have never heard of either, to feel as if they can't participate without knowing it all. I'm afraid I just don't have the time to put into GMing a game, but I'd love to participate in a Fable-themed game.

This is a great game, and, as it turns out, a crazy comic book.

I would definitely be interested in submitting a character for this.
Always seeking 5E games.

I'm very glad to have interest showing up here! Not sure that anyone willing to GM has really seen it, yet, though.

If anyone knows someone, please feel free to share with them. :-) I would love to see this get off the ground.
