I'm looking at getting myself a new PC, as upgrading all the various bits on my current rig will cost a fair chunk anyway, I'm thinking might as well spend a bit more now and not have to upgrade for a while.

As this is being planned mainly as gaming rig, I'm tossing out a question for those who enjoy tinkering with the hardware. Is it better to go with a single or twin graphic card set up? I've seen both oppinions offered, and I'm wondering is there a general consensus.

I prefer going with a single one that's decent, so that future upgrades only involve jumping up to the next or adding a second later if desired.

SLI Configuration (Two Cards) only tend to work at optimal pace under Vista when it comes to PC. Problem is, Vista is still buggier then XP. So, go with one card with room to upgrade, get a mother-board that has SLI abilities, but go with one card.

I have no intention of having Vista on my machine, if i can any way help it. Not til at least SP1, if not later.

Better to wait till SP2.

From what I've read, SP1 doesn't do much.

People so seldom say "I love you". And then it's either too late or love goes. So when I tell you I love you, It doesn't mean I know you'll never go, only that I wish you didn't have to...

With Windows. I'd say wait until SP 12.
