Anime Songs (op/end/soundtracks/...)

Well since we have an big part of the site who are also into Anime, I was wondering what are your favorite anime songs? It can be openings, endings, insert songs, soundtracks just well everything related around anime basically. Japenese, Korean, English, .. all is welcome. I just am curious to what other people remember, like music wise when it come to Anime.

For me I could dump over a hundred songs easily here but I'm going to start of with four ones

My all time favorite opening song to an anime:

It's Joint by Mami Kawada and was used as the official opening soundtrack for Shakugan No shana 2

My all time favorite ending song of an Anime:

This one is called Kawaita Hana and is performed by Micc. It's from a very underrated show called: Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora.

My all time favorite soundtrack song of an anime movie (those that know me can probably already guess which song is coming):

Yup it's Sparkle by Radwimps and is from the movie Your Name. To me this is still one of the best anime movies ever made.

Finally the best insert song to me in an anime serie, one that really blew me away when I first heard it and to this day gives me chills:

God Knows performed by Haruhi Suzumiya from the series The Melanchol of Haruhi Suzumiya.

These are my personal choices of course and I know they might be pretty weird but hey I'm also a weird one

Now I'm curious to what you like. I'll be posting more songs later on of stuff that I really like or think deserve to be mentioned. Please let me hear yours.

oooh the first one brings back memories of the original series. I really love Rurouni Kenshin and am currently watching the remake of it, which I think is really good.

The outlaw star even goes back to my childhood because some of my brother's used to love watching it.

The last one I have to admit I don't know. But still thank you for sharing them with us.

This week I'm going to focus on something that has been a starting point for many anime enthusiasts: the Movies from Studio Ghibli

First one, probably one of the most known pieces out of all the movies:

*Merry-go-Round of Life from Howl's Moving Castle

*) Second probably the most famous Ghibli movie: Spirited Away

*Third one of my all time favorite Ghibli movies: Princess Mononoke

*Fourth is the gem Ponyo

*Next up is one of the most tragic ones: Grave of fireflies

*so back to one that always made me laugh: My neighbor Totoro

*) One I think is very underrated: Kiki's Delivery service

*) Another one I feel can't be missing is Porco Rosso

*One of most famous ending songs from Ghibli imo comes from Laputa - Castle in the sky

*) And finally while so many other choices were available to me this one is probably one of the most memorable ones out there and the unofficial start of Studio Ghibli: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
