Hey,

I joined E a few months ago, but life threw a massive curveball at me and I disappeared before I even had a chance to really get started. Thankfully, everything is under control and I have my life (mostly) back to myself, so I can return to pursuing collaborative writing. Please see this thread for my O/Os, general information about myself, my writing style/availability, what genres I like and how I think of them, and other miscellany.

This thread is and will be in a perpetual state of construction with updated ideas. Please send any requests only via PM on this site, and do not reply to this thread directly.

So what does it mean, 'I wanna write weird'?

Just that. I'm really into Gothic Horror and Swords and Sorcery-type settings, or things that might be classified as 'Weird Fiction'. Think of the likes of Robert E. Howard, Clark Ashton Smith, H.P. Lovecraft, Robert Chambers, Robert Bloch, etc. The type of stuff written for pulp magazines from the 1880s up through like the 1940s.

I like these genres and settings because of the creativity they allow. I wanna write weird. When I think of sci-fi, I think of sci-fi before we knew anything about space travel and colonists traversed Venus wearing tinfoil suits and leather helmets with an oxygen mask. When I think of fantasy and magic, I think of ancient sorcerers hidden away in unreachable, nameless depths beneath far-cast mountain ranges or impenetrable jungles performing blood sacrifices and barbaric rituals to hold back unspeakable horrors or siphon some of their cosmic powers. When I think of creatures, its hideous beastmen and grotesque monstrosities that have no place in a sane world. When I think of detectives, I think of 1920s private eyes and femme fatales on a whirlwind globetrotting adventure hunting supernatural cultists. When I think of adventure, I think of encountering these things while on perilous escapades that Indiana Jones would be both envious and terrified of.

I'm more attracted to fantasy-ish worlds, but real-world settings are doable as long as we stay away from contemporary settings (the further we move beyond 1930, the more I lose interest) and incorporate some of the more fantastical elements I described above. The thing with fantasy settings is that you can really go balls-to-the-wall with your world, the things that inhabit it, what you encounter, and what's possible.

So what kind of character am I interested in writing?

I wanna write weird. I'm fine with robots, aliens, monsters, creatures, demons, shape shifters – the whole gamut of possibilities of things that are non-human. Vampires and werewolves are cool, but there's so many more interesting things out there if I'm going to write something abnatural. Anthros are cute, but insectoids and fishmen are cooler. I'm fine with writing a mere human, but I'd really like some element of transformation, the alien, perhaps some body horror, something grotesque. I wanna write weird.

Finally added some story ideas, but these are just the baseline and I'm open to change and suggestions.

Alright, finally got some ideas to toss down here, even if they are ripped from some of my favorite short stories. I'm going to be playing with the formatting and information listed under each entry to make it more discernible, so bear with me if it's a little unwieldy for the time being. When applicable, I put the source of where the idea came from after a quick synopsis.

Variability, Collaboration, Game Type, and Eroticism

All of the story ideas listed below are highly malleable. I am vague with the premise to allow you to pick a character that might fit into the simplified outline and don't expound a whole lot on where the plot will go. I'm definitely one of the types that likes to collaborate and discuss ideas and see how imaginations interact to create something unique. In this regard, I do have Discord if that's easier for discussion and I'm more than happy to provide my handle after at least a brief exchange over PM.

The ideas are just a simple foundation upon which to build. I'm open to playing a variety of characters as long as it seems interesting, and I have a tendency towards things more deviant. I'm fine with playing a human companion to start and if the story takes it there, something happens to him, and I then take on playing the odder characters or playing the beings/world your character would be interacting with. The only thing I'm really against is, when it comes to the more sexual aspects of things, having to write as both the more interesting creatures and my male companion to your character.

When it comes to game type, I've seen conversation about solo GM games discussed rather heavily on Elliquiy and I'm interested in attempting something like that, taking up the role of the GM. All of the stories can be manipulated to fit within this framework. I'm most familiar with 5E, but I'm open to something more free-form or learning a new system as long as it is more narrative in nature and less crunchy when it comes to stats. If it's a number crunch game, I'd rather just stick with something I'm already familiar with and making the potential story fit within that framework.

As far as erotica is concerned, I'm intentionally vague about the potential within these proposed stories for a reason. There's very little that I consider off-limits (see my O/O thread for my short list) and I'm incredibly open to experimentation as long as (as usual) it's a compelling idea to me. I like weird shit and I want to explore interesting ideas. Don't be afraid to ask about things!

Themes marked with ?s are ones that are mostly potential or hypothetical.

Penetrating the Depths
Setting: Early 20th Century, Earth; Underground caverns and cities
Characters:
Archaeologist or Treasure Hunter; Parallel race of humanoids; Aberrant monstrosities
Genre:
Pulp Adventure, Exploration, Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Humanoid/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, Abduction/Restraint, ?Slavery?

Synopsis
Whispers of a strange manuscript has gained the interest of a historical prospector. The scroll, unearthed near an ancient site of ritual and contained within an alien metal, details the firsthand account of an ancient explorer who followed rumors of a land beneath the surface, reached by days-long, perilous journey through underworld caverns and subterranean highways. The tale then details the explorer's interaction with an ancient culture, diverged from surface-dwelling humanity hundreds of thousands of years ago, their buildings constructed with valuable metals and gems which seem to be all too common in the deep places of the earth. The manuscript hints at odd rituals linked to transcendence, elevating the consciousness to alternate planes, and sacrifice to ancient gods which lay slumbering for millennia. A society without need for anything material, they had achieved immortality, gained a mental control over the physical world, and fell into a state of decadence, entertaining themselves with experiments of body modification of both the physical and magical sorts and other debauchery. Potential knowledge or riches for the curious hunter of ancient societies was enticing, as long as the rumors were true and the passage to the forgotten civilization was discovered.

This is a riff on Lovecraft's story, “The Mound”. Your character could be an archaeologist, anthropologist, treasure hunter, or something along those lines. I could be an assistant and also play the part of the civilization forgotten in the deepest recesses of the world.

Planar Hunt
Setting: Early 20th Century, Earth; Victorian city; Alternate planes
Characters:
Student or Professor; Unfathomable beings; Sentient architecture
Genre:
Mystery, Exploration, Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, ?Abduction?

Synopsis
Seeking lodging, a downtrodden university student of math and physics takes up a room in the attic of a nearby flophouse which had gone unoccupied for quite some time due to one of its ancient inhabitant: a witch who escaped local authorities after being sentenced to death for practicing her craft. This mythology (along with its cheap price and its association with occulted physics) was enticing to the student, who wished to learn more about the true nature of reality and peer beneath its shroud. Unexpected, though, were the vivid dreams of falling through the odd angular geometry of the attic's walls into a dimension which persisted alongside humanity's natural one. The student is pursued by a strange creature with obscured intentions during their time in this parallel, non-euclidian realm. Additionally, the student feels an almost hypnotic pull towards a landmark at the edge of the university town, the rumored location the witch escaped to while evading the authorities.

Inspired by Lovecraft's “The Dreams in the Witch House”, your character might be the student in question or perhaps a university professor attempting to assist them in discovering the secrets of the odd geometry of the house and the associated inscriptions found on the witch's jail cell when she was apprehended. I'd be willing to take up almost any role, including that of playing the “world” of the alternate dimension. The world itself could be alive and aggressive towards the student in addition to the strange creature(s) pursuing her.

Lost Heritage
Setting: Early 20th Century, Earth; Victorian estate and small village; Lost site of ritual beneath in caverns
Characters:
Heiress or Assistant/Laborer; Bestial creatures; Undead; Malformed Humans
Genre:
Mystery, Exploration, Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Spirit/Human Pairing, Cults, Dub-Con/Non-Con, ?Rituals?, ?Hypnosis?

Synopsis
Atop an ancient and weathered coastal bluff sleeps an estate that has fallen into decrepitude; macabre rumors and warnings permeate the village gathered in the valley below. The heir to the estate, a foreigner, arrives after the mysterious disappearance of its former caretaker and begins work to restore the property to its former glory, thinking it should fetch a high price. What they uncover, however, during the restoration is a trail of clues that hint towards something much darker than a mere missing person case. Suggestions of occult rituals, black magic, and beings from a forgotten place deep in the cliffside upon which the estate was built.

A play off of Lovecraft's “The Rats in the Walls”. Your character could be the heiress, one of the assistants tasked with assisting in the restoration or exploration of the forgotten world beneath the estate, a specialist in history or the occult brought in to provide insight as to the nature of the forgotten realm. I could also take up any of these roles, but I'd also be inclined to take up the role of whatever creatures are found lurking beneath the estate. They could be of a supernatural tint or something more bestial, subsisting on small rodents, bugs, and mutated fish that have found their way via an underground river into their home.

Harvester
Setting: Semi-Futuristic alien planet; Planetary colony; Alien wilderness; Alien underground
Characters:
Colonists and Explorers/Prospectors; Alien Species
Genre:
Pulp Sci-Fi, Exploration, Horror
Themes: Alien/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, Abduction/Restraint, ?Breeding?, ?Hypnosis?, ?Transformation?

Synopsis
The early days of space colonization proves both enticing and difficult for nascent colonists. Discovery of a native crystal on one of these planets, brimming with energy enough to fuel small cities back home, introduced a legion of chartered employees and independent prospectors seeking to harvest them for personal gain. Only the most bold would leave the safety of Earth, as the planet's atmosphere and wilderness are harsh and there are signs of semi-civilized, sapient beings on both the surface and the sprawling system of caves beneath. During an outing, one crystal-seeker is forced underground by a surface storm and is confronted and trapped by the rumored alien species. Initially captured, she must escape or bargain her way out, lest be confronted with the curious nature the beings have with human anatomy.

This is sort of a combination of “Within the Walls of Eryx” and “The Dweller in the Gulf” by Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith respectively. I'm quite fond of the pulp style of space travel/colonization written about in the early 20th century, when we didn't know much about the planets even in our own solar system and a protective suit was considered to be made of aluminum foil and an oxygen mask. If you're familiar with the source stories, this iteration could lean more heavily into one or the other, or both.

A Necessary Score
Setting: Swords and sorcery; Deep jungle; Ancient ruins
Characters:
Rogue adventurer types; Strange beasts; Sorcerers or Necromancers
Genre:
Swords and Sorcery, Pulp Adventure, Horror
Themes: Human/Human Pairing, Monster/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, ?Magic?

Synopsis
Two adventurers find themselves in a tavern situated in a small city on the fringe of the outlands: an untamed wilderness rife with ancient ruins, savage tribes, roaming beasts, and reclusive sects of sorcerers. Emptying their pockets for a decadent meal of pomegranate wine, fish, and bread, they discuss a necessary venture into the primeval land to secure some form of valuable in order replenish their purses. One of the foolhardy vagrants mentions the tale of a nearly forgotten temple sleeping in the shadow of a nearby mountain – a treasure off tremendous value lays buried beneath a sacred plinth once employed during ritual sacrifice, but rumor of a curse and a timeless sorcerer still guarding the horde were attached to the rumor. It sounds dangerous, but the duo's pockets are just as empty as their goblets of wine and the mark seems their best bet for success.

A pretty vague sword and sorcery type adventure. Loosely inspired by “The Tale of Satampra Zeiros” by Clark Ashton Smith, almost all details of this are up for negotiation. There's not much to say about it; it's simply a springboard for ideas that would require a bit of collaboration to decide the nature of the adventure and what elements to incorporate.

Obligations of the Flesh
Setting: Swords and sorcery; Deep caverns; Strange environments
Characters:
Barbarian priestess (or other adventuring type); Strange beasts; Sorcerers; Ancient Gods/Servants
Genre:
Swords and Sorcery, Pulp Adventure, Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, ?Hypnosis?, ?Transformation?

Synopsis
Deep in an uncharted wilderness, a barbarian priestess hears rumor of a secluded cabal of sorcerers who are known to steal virgin women for usage in their occult rituals. Taking up arms and setting out from her home, she ventures overland to confront the enclave. Difficult though it may be, she discovers their furtive abode and manages to bypass its protective enchantments. Interrupting one of their rituals, she confronts the sorcerers with what she believes is means to defeat them, but she is overpowered by their numbers. They place upon her a spell of complete control,a gaes, and command her to march deep beneath the mountain into the forgotten depths of the world. Guided along her journey by an enchanted crow (acting as a sort of psychopomp) to the ancient gods they served with their sacrifices of the virgin women above. Though her mobility and consciousness remain intact, the priestess is compelled to venture deeper and deeper, passing through the realms of these gods for them to do with her as they please.

Another swords and sorcery story heavily inspired by Clark Ashton Smith's story “The Seven Gaeses”. It's one of my favorites of his and I could see this being a compelling choice for a potential partner interested in very submissive roles and is also okay with interacting with beings of alternative physical makeup. I'd be playing the part of the world, the psychopomp, and the underlings of the gods the barbarian priestess encounters on her descent into the forsaken depths of the world.

Breeding an Army of Beasts
Setting: Swords and sorcery; Strange environments
Characters:
Slaves/Sacrifices; Innocent women; Strange beasts; Sorcerer/Druid shapeshifter
Genre:
Swords and Sorcery, Pulp Adventure, Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Dub-Con/Non-Con, Abduction/Slavery, Breeding, ?Ritual Sex?, ?Transformation?, ?BDSM?

Synopsis
Outcast from the scantly civilized world, a shapeshifting Druid seeks revenge on the society that's ostracized him. He's set up shop at the joining of various regions and his plan is to create an army of hybrid beasts to enact his revenge. However, this requires vessels to produce his offspring. After acquiring a suitable arrangement of women considered acceptable, he must take them on hunts where he acquires the heart of the beast he wishes to add to his battalion. After hunting, slaying, and consuming an aspect of the beast, he undergoes a horrific transformation that has him acquire the form of the entity and then copulates with his selected mate. Some time later, he will have a new addition to his increasing pool of devoted hybrid monstrosities.

This is just an idea I have that plays into my desire to RP as weird creatures. It offers an array of possibilities, and the women selected would be played by my partner. It could also just be a single woman, and the pregnancy/birth is done off-screen, or takes place in such a way that it would not encumber her or take her out of commission. However, if you were interested in playing a variety of women this is also possible. The women could be reluctant abductees, or volunteers who seek to aid the Druid in amassing this army. Regardless, it would be a series of scenes and we could discuss the amount of smut vs. plot, what kind of adventures might take place and in what sorts of environments, and all those sorts of details. A lot of this is open for discussion and alteration, it just provides a template for variety.

Seduction from Beyond the Veil
Setting: Early 20th Century; Earth; Victorian/Gothic; Alien landscape
Characters:
"Mundane" human woman; Strange and Alien beings and beasts
Genre:
Gothic Horror; Pulp Horror
Themes: Monster/Human Pairing, Alien/Human Pairing; Dub-Con/Non-Con, ?Aphrodisiacs/Mesmerism??BDSM?, ??Torture??

Synopsis
Needing reprieve from the tiresome and numbing gossip that's all too ubiquitous in her socialite circles, a young woman uses her savings to rent a neglected farmstead set in an idyllic stretch of countryside in the crotch of a mountainrange. The reason for its affordability was made clear upon securing the property, as it was entrenched with rumors of hauntings, disappearances, and oddities stretching back to the ancient beginnings of the home. Existing on the border between realities, the house is visited by beings from an alternate dimension who find themselves curious with the most recent resident of the abode.

This is sort of a riff on William Hope Hodgson's The House on the Borderland, and really there's all sorts of shenanigans that can take place. I'm imagining the creatures being a bit more malignant in nature, uncaring, possibly something in the vein of Hellraiser, or anything Clive Barker, or maybe something like a Victorian version of Silent Hill, whatever that might end up looking like. I don't have a whole lot of ideas for this, but I don't think it'd be difficult to come up with something. The torture elements I make a possible mention of are, of course, up for negotiation as to whether they're present at all, or to what extent. I'm pretty flexible with this.

Synthovine

Monthly bump and added a few ideas along with a little more information on the stories. Still working on cleaning things up and adding more.

Synthovine

Monthly bump and added another possible idea. Looking for potentially one more partner, maybe two, depending on things.

Synthovine

Monthly bump! No new ideas, but since these tends to morph a bit from the initial idea, it shouldn't be an issue. Looking to take on one more story with the right person.

Synthovine

Post bump. Things in life have settled down for the time being and it would be nice to find maybe one more potential writing partner.
