I see!  Frightening and awesome!  I hope C.H. uses this villain with us at some point!

Did something in 4th or 5th edition make Sune a sun goddess?  Or is that homebrew?  :)

(I sincerely don't know!  I thought Sune was dead with all the other gods! :P  )
Love, beauty and - especially relevant here - "Radiance".  Light is one of her domains, within that context.

I think Lathander is still god of the Sun and Dawn.  The Spellplague killed and/or changed a lot of gods, and the Second Sundering was kind of a one-two punch, but they aren't all dead by any means - although for a long time, that was believed to be the case, I think.  I dunno though, not an expert.

... I wrote something up..and made Alendia an orphan "gift" to the temple...

@Annamarth: I see you too. Maybe there was more that one surviving member on the original divine quest ? (where Alendia got her starting Exp from)
AND... Alendia is not bringing that much healing... she brings the fiery vengeance... of goddess of Beauty and SUN! (burning hot luv..lava.. i meen...)
That pairs well with Kylara's sorcerous mixture - she'll have Cure Wounds, but it won't be her only trick.

As a Divine Soul, it makes sense for Kylara to have been near or around the Temple of Sune, so might have been - at least distantly - associated with Alendia.  I was originally picturing this character as being from Amn, but I think Amphail is near Waterdeep - and being Waterdhavian works just as well as being Amnish.

K'Tanya as the ... more fortunate Half-Elf in town makes a good comparison to Kylara, and I think the three make a decent trio, if you think that makes sense Muse.  Being from Cormyr though, I think K'Tanya would have travelled a bit to get to the Sword Coast from the interior of Faerun ...

So ... what if Amphail were near Cormyr rather than Waterdeep?  Would that work with you, Miroque?

Probably a Monsters of the Multiverse goblin, if that's alright?

FoxgirlJay

I'm pretty sure the MotM Goblin stat is now the new 'default' for goblins.

So far as I'm understanding from Cold's first post, we're all meant to start together in the same party, having been on an adventure together before. Slaying giant rats or something else? Giant rats are rather mundane for lvl3 heroes, at least.

Either way, ought to all talk a bit about characters together before the start.

For Sarkat, she's an entertainer and an actor, particularly finding stories interesting. Records down the parties adventures in her big ol book. She's a 'civilized' goblin to most people who don't care to know the difference between them and Verdan. Grew up her whole life in Baldur's Gate. Has an eager, determined and encouraging sort of personality. Tries to emulate the heroics of old storybooks, using the real or imagined characters as inspiration and a source of bravery. Can sometimes be an idealist airhead cause of that. For the naughtier side of things, Sarkat is particularly horny for the taller folk.

Here's my paladin!

Klaus der Valestein, Oath of Conquest Paladin

Age: 27

https://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=2691455

Klaus was born into the noble der Valestein family, known for their devout faith in Tempus and their love for battle. The family prized strength and honor in battle over everything else, going so far as to hold a tournament every time the head of House der Valestein needed to be replaced and the member of the family that won would become the new head of house.

However, Klaus wasn't originally part of House der Valestein. His grandfather was an outsider that the House accepted into their tournament as a reward for accomplishing an important request for the family; participation in the tournament was his desired reward and when the tournament came around, his grandfather won. With great protest, the then head of the family silenced all dissenters and allowed his grandfather to not only be admitted into House der Valestein, but to marry his daughter and become the new head of the house.

Throughout the years however, even though his grandfather was still the head of the house, his family was almost seen as second class, Klaus often getting bullied around by the other kids while he was in martial school. Tired of being powerless, he asked his grandfather to train him and he did, ruthlessly training Klaus, who was eight at the time. After ten years, Klaus' name and deeds were known throughout the family and he became an existence they could not ignore. Eventually the time for a new tournament came and multiple family members had colluded to poison Klaus and prevent his attendance to the tournament. They succeeded, a new head was chosen, and when Klaus came to protest, he was instead exiled, made to wander the lands for ten years as repentance.

Now 27 and in his ninth year of exile, he aches for the day he could return and claim his rightful place as head of House der Valestein, if not only to get revenge on the men that stole the opportunity of showcasing his battle prowess. In the nine years of exile, he was a wandering mercenary, going from town to town, city to city, taking any request that seemed to scratch his itch for battle, taking any opportunity he could to get stronger. He met up with a group and travelled with them in the mean time.

Still taking characters, or are you full?

Yeah, but you'll be the last one. There's like one other person I'd take on but they haven't shown up.

Actually that goes for anyone.  Emy (Allanger) made a great google drive sheet for 5th edition.  If anyone wants me to coppy a template for you just say the word.

I want a copy.

That's the first time everyone got together. It's meant to imply that there's been a few adventures everyone's been on (like, two or three really simple, staple adventures - the giant rat one, maybe a dungeon crawl, clearing out a bandit hideout, etc.).

But I failed.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

FoxgirlJay

Ahhh, understood. Gotcha. Still, open to character talks with other people.

Cold Heritage

Yeah, it's still good for people to talk and establish character relations.

They don't have to be friends, but they do have to basically be allies.

I don't think it'd be relevant to anyone else but c0i9z, but in a tremendously self-serving use of my absolute divine power as GM I am going to put down a house rule (from one of the pages annaamarth linked) for the Barbarian's Path of the Berserker. Using Frenzy does not cause Exhaustion.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

FoxgirlJay

A divine boon from on high!

When I'm DMing I usually just steer people away from that Subclass, and give a homebrew that Barbarian Rage doesn't end until times up. But loads of ways to do things, and dumping the exhaustion is a great fix.

Was my submission too late then?

No, you're good. Anyone who said anything to the effect of 'hey, I'm interested' before Aribeth did is fine. It's folks after that who unfortunately are out of luck.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Revelation

I'm out shopping ATM but since I got in before Aribeth with an interest I should be fine, right? I'm thinking a paladin fighter, or maybe ranger, but if I'm too late I getcha too!

Cold Heritage

Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Revelation

Sweet.

A few questions that'll help me decide on what i make

Are Variant humans allowed or no? Likewise, are any sourcebooks disallowed? Just so I know of what particular subclasses to shop about and all that good stuff. I know those are more mechanical questions, but both help lead into the fluff and making of a character to me.

Cold Heritage

Yeah, Variant humans are fine. A few people already made those.

I don't know enough about 5e to say to just blanket disallow any sourcebooks, but I did say no centaurs and no animal races like Tabaxi or Luxodon (I'm not sure I got their name right - the elephant people from the Ravnica book).

Another thing to keep in mind is that your character's only getting maximum starting gold listed for their class, and they may only buy common magic items. Assume they cost 50gp.
Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

Revelation

We would begin with starting gear in addition to gold, right?

Cold Heritage

Thank you, fellow Elliquiyan, and have a wonderful day.

FoxgirlJay

Oooh. The common magic items list has lots of fun little knick knacks. And for the low cost of 50g that's super affordable!

Also, here's an OOC thread for the game. Since I've shut down recruitment it seems appropriate to migrate there for further discussion.

May I suggest Elturel?

We're discussing this on the Elliquiy discord server if you'd like to join us.

I thoufht the game was going to haooen in Sword Coast, thats why I went for nomans town near waterdeep...

Muse

Already addressed this elsewhere, but to clarify, the idea was that our character (And perhaps Aribeth's) would meet on K'tanya's journey from Cormry to Baldur's Gate.

Is that clearer?
