In the 1970s, over a dozen of the greatest villains in the galaxy banded with one goal in mind... conquest of the universe. They were The Legion of Doom and the only force that could stop ten was that group of super friends known as the Justice League of America! Now twenty years has passed and the Legion is no more. But their legacy lives on with...

Yes, I bring you another game idea about the descendants of bad guys, this time in the DC Universe. Specifically a version inspired by the cartoons produced from the late 60s through the mid 80s with an emphasis on the classic Super-Friends years, including their comic series and the god-awful Legends of the Superheroes TV special. You, yes you, will have the chance to play the successor to one (or maybe more) of the super-villains in the Legion of Doom. a listing of the members is here. Now to add more choices I'll include the "League of Evil" which was the original proposal for the LOD. I'll even throw in Mordru and the Weather Wizard from that terrible live-action stuff and the Human Flying Fish, who was in the Super-Foes from the comic. Yes, the Human Flying Fish. Personally I'm working on an heir to Abra Kadabra that bears a striking resemblance to Dita Von Teese. Sexay, right?

Now about the setting, it's in the 90's. The name is even a nod to the Rose McGowan movie from 1995. It's a time of grunge, raves, and dial-up internet. Also this is not the DCAU, the Arrowverse, or wherever. So no Harley Quinn's daughter or Deathstroke's butler's nephew. Opponents for our budding baddies include a Justice League not quite like the one from the 70s, the Global Guardians (they first appeared in the Super-Friends comic), and other evil-doers that don't play well with others.

So do ya wanna fly the Hall of Doom over to Lollapalooza or what?

*raises hand* We'll see where this goes. You have my interest. Villain stories are rare and so of course I jump on them.

Ooooo... I still need to watch that.

Well, technically Black Adam isn't a Legion of Doom member. Buuuuut he is the one person I've considered making an exception for as 1) The Marvel Family will be kinda a big deal 2) He was in the LOD in that Alex Ross "Justice" series that was a Super-Friends homage 3) He was in Filmation's Shazam! cartoon and 4) there's a knockoff Super Powers figure that was made of him in Kazakhstan. Yes, Kazakhstan.

And I miiiiiight be able to have my arm twisted into allowing a Clayface descendant as he was also a member in "Justice" and in Filmation's Batman cartoon. No Kazakhstani action figures of him though.

Dr. Sivanas was Captain Marvel's antithesis during the generation you're talking about.

Sivana's already a possible predecessor as he was in the proto-LOD League of Evil as well as a member in Legends of the Superheroes.

That's a pretender from some cheap Hollywood flick, he doesn't capture the true majesty of Thaddeus Sivana!

Oh my gods, I love Super Friends AND Doom Generation!

What would you think of “Mordru’s Daughter”, the Black Witch?

Would she have his mad jet-ski skills?

Also for those considering hopping aboard her's a link to the really comprehensive Super-Friends Wiki...

Besides the obvious subject it has has a lot of stuff on action figures, the tie-in comics, the earlier Filmation stuff, etc. I'm plundering it for idea on how to take this world unique.

Nobody can touch Mordru’s Jet Ski Supremacy. She may settle for paddle-boating with Captain Cold’s kid.

OK, so I made a time for the history of this world, which I dubbed Earth-F after the one in the Arrowverse Crisis comics. It was seemingly named after Fleischer, the studio that made the first Superman cartoons,. Appropriate for this, plus the F can stand for Friends, Filmation, and possibly something else that starts with F. You'll notice mentions of characters that are not in the DC Universe. That's inspired from various shows being blocked together, nudge-nudge-wink-wink references creators would sneak into things, and bootleg action figures that were random as heck. If there is a chance to throw in something weird to make the world unique I'll take it. That's why there's no Zatanna, instead we get Conjura from the DC Dictionary.

Earth-F Timeline

Late 19th Century: Masked adventurers appear in the American West, the Lone Ranger in Texas and Zorro in California.

Early 20th Century: The jungle is home to Tarzan and Rima, Africa and the Amazon respectively.

Late 1930's: The Green Hornet and Kato begin their war on crime.

Early 1940's: A time-travelling Superman appears and aids the Allied cause. He has a romance with Lois Lane, a reporter for the Daily Star. Actress and stuntwoman Linda Turner becomes the vigilante known as the Black Cat. TNT and Dan the Dyna-Mite explode onto the scene.

Late 1960's: Superman debuts in Metropolis while Batman starts his vigilante work in Gotham City.

Early 1970's: A hero known as the Dragon appears in Hong Kong. Some notice he has a resemblance to Kato.

Mid 1970's: Several other superheroes arrive on the scene and band together as the Justice League. Their enemies do the same, first as the short-lived League of Evil and then as the Legion of Doom. A group of sidekicks form the Teen Titans. Captain Marvel and his family debut. Isis appears and later becomes leader of Freedom Force.

Late 1970's: Couples like Superstretch & Microwoman and Manta & Moray do their part as heroes, as does Web-Woman. Conjura the sorceress debuts and become an ally to the Justice League but does not officially join, as does the android Scarlet Cyclone. They do pick up two new members in Black Canary and the Huntress. New York industrialist Antony Stark, a financial backer of heroic causes, decides to take an active role as Iron Man.

Early 1980's: Hero High, a school for training young heroes, is started. The Global Guardian become a worldwide force for peace.

Mid 1980's: The Justice League add the young heroes Cyborg and Firestorm. Darkseid begins his attacks on Earth.

Late 1980's Superman is seemingly killed by Darkseid's Omega Effect but is actually sent back in time. The battle also drains the Flash of his speed and he retires, as does Batman after injuries received in a battle with the Coluan android Electro. Green Lantern decides to focus on his life as Hal Jordan and gives his ring to his sidekick Kyro of Venus. Wonder Woman and Aquaman both return to their homelands. Justice League disbands with Firestorm and Cyborg joining the now adult Teen Titans as the Super 7. In New York there is word of a new vigilante called Spider-Man.

Early 1990's and Beyond: The Super 7 continues to protect the word along with the Global Guardians and the seemingly ageless members of Freedom Force and the Marvel Family. Superman returns from the past but now has the body (and maturity) of a young college student, which gets him renamed Superboy. A new allaice of villains forms known as... the Doom Generation.
