50 Girls 50
It is the distant future, the year 2000... Mankind has spread across the solar system, with plastisteel environmental domes of melmac and transparent aluminum on the moon and the surface of Mars. With no mysteries left in Earth's deepest oceans nor within the frigid catacombs of Pluto, there are those who still yearn for adventure and seek to answer the call of the unknown.

And so sibling starships Artemis and Apollo were commissioned for a 1,000 year cryo-jaunt to the distant fringes of our understanding. When the tubes at last opened and the viewscreen stirred to life, the crew of the Artemis found themselves adrift in a strange galaxy with no resemblance to any on their charts, cut off from their brother vessel the Apollo. In a galaxy of sexy non-consensual danger and pervy xeno lifeforms, the all female crew of the Artemis must battle against giant alien amazons, naughty tentacles and planets of robo chauvinists while always keeping their eyes to the skies, seeking a star to guide them home.

This is an interest check for a pulp sci fi adventure game in the vein of Barbarella, John Carter of Mars or Flash Gordan. High on camp and cheese, the tone is occasionally dangerous but rarely dark. Although this cribs bits from the original "50 Girl 50" as well as the new, it's very much it's own beast, so don't feel bad if you haven't read either story.

It's a setting of alien worlds, oxygen domes, capsule food, ray guns and nuclear powered rocket pants! The nostalgia of the old black and white serials and two-fisted pulp tales of sci-fi adventure. It's Isaac Asimov with courtesy breasts and rubber monsters! At this point, I'm just seeing if there's anyone who has an interest in the concept, as it feels very specific to some of my interests WHILE being a little "niche".

I'll be honest I dunno if it's my kind of game to play, but i would love to watch it  ;D

Is this related to that 50 Girls story where there's 50 of each sex, but the perv in charge of it all stays awake and thaws out one girl at a time so he can "enjoy" each of them before killing them and moving on to the next?

Edit: Yep.  http://stendec9.blogspot.com/2012/06/50-girls-50-horror-tale-by-frank.html

Just know that you aren't the only one who's read this story.

That’s the original, yeah. The follow up is a lot more raunchy fun, with pretty much the same plot as Lost in Space, but only women can survive the interstellar jump, hence the all female crew. Really trying to make it akin to “Outer Worlds”, tongue in cheek, pulp magazine sci fi.

Outer Worlds was fun.

So bubble helmets with skin tight suits and bulky ray guns? Although if going similar to outer Worlds maybe more good old shotguns and less ray weapons?

Brittlby

Probably more ray weapons honestly. Why would they have shotguns in the distant future of the year 2000? Lol. But honestly, I tend to defer to the players preference/vision.

Was actually thinking of the stuff I used in Outer worlds. :D
An acid edged sword and a assault rifle.

going with actual 50's sci fi stuff would probably mean odd shaped pistols with rings around the barrel.

Of course choice in weapons does depend on various things. Look at the old Dune movie, shield tech and prohibition of lasers made sword/knife fighting such a big thing.

Bibliophilia

I'd love to play a buxom, big-haired brainy girl with a clunky, yet sleek future Compu-pad and inexplicably high heels on her thigh-high space boots.

Chulanowa

Y'know... I think this is my kinda game after all.  XD

I'd be into the idea of playing a big hair, no nonsense, doctor, in a lab coat and very short skirt  ;D
All the "It's time for your full body exam..." and "It appears to be an aphrodisiac emitting lifeform, captain!"
Not to mention plenty of "Damnit, I'm a doctor, not a turkey! Stop stuffing me!"

I'm totally in to this idea ^•^

Alrighty, it seems like there's enough for a reasonable cast. Then I'm going to do some prelim work and front load some world building and activities, then probably open it up with a character sheet in a week or so!

I've learned my lesson from previous games and am not splitting the group up to start. lol

This would be a fun one!  I'd like to join if it moves forward.

Sounds like fun! Up for playing the overconfident ace who walks obliviously into trouble...
