I love the hell out of Vampire, and I've been itching to try out Werewolf for awhile now--even moreso after a friend told me the combat system is more enjoyable. So here's my request for a newbie friendly (preferably group) game where we can explore the nuance, character, and combat of the setting :)

I just wanted to comment how W:TA is never newbie friendly. Characters die, a lot. It is one of the harshest and unforgiving systems ever.

That being said, it is an incredibly amazing setting, and can lead to some great adventures. Do you have an idea of what kind of campaign you'd like it to be?

Also remember that W:TA is an extremely group based game, you can't just build any character and paste it into the group. Likely packmates have been together for years, sometimes even since puberty. And even before they'd likely have been part of the same circle.

I'd be willing to work with you to see if we can get something set up, and I could run it, or I can ask my old ST to run it for us.

Beneath the lowland's sheltering trees,
To seek, by ways unknown to all,
The promise of the waterfall.

Well, this caught my eye!

At the moment I seem to be a little full on games. But, I think several of them are, to say kindly, winding down, which might free up some space. I can't promise but... well, I've been itching to run Werewolf again. or even just play it. If you're still looking once I get my posting schedule and active games all settled out, I'd be willing to toss in on either side of the table. That said, if someone else wants to jump in as ST before then, don't wait up on my account.

Oh death's not the main concern when I say newbie friendly; just making sure the ST doesn't expect me to know a lot of lore and won't be surprised or annoyed when I ask a bunch of rule/lore questions :)

As for the campaign, I'd wanna play with its theme of obligation; the fact that they're all dragged into this hopeless war, but also have more human/kinfolk connections--good and bad--pulling their sense of obligation elsewhere; plus their own personal beliefs. So yeah, plenty of fighting, but more importantly questioning and/or strengthening their reasons to fight, and their loyalties to one another and the world as a whole

That's great to hear (well, not the dying games part but you know what I mean). I'd love to play with you, ST or otherwise :)

Luckily, most lore in WW is just that. Lore. It's constantly debated argued over, and adapted. As a child, your character would have been told snippets, but more in the same way people used to tell fairy tales. As moral guides and to scare kids.

As for questions. If an ST accepts his players are new, they can expect questions. As long as people keep OoC questions in OoC threads where they belong, they don't hurt the game. The advantage of PbP is an ST doesn't need to interrupt the story, explain, then get the mood back. It really helps.

Sounds like something I could work with. I've asked Lis, and she's up for it too, she's a long time WtA player as well. One of us could ST, while the other sits in as expert player, answer man.

So I can set up a recruitment thread. Just out of curiosity. since this is mostly an ERP forum, and the pack is likely spending a lot of time together, and since it will come up looking at the proposed theme. Do you wish to include sexual content.

Also, on another note, are there any tribes you're specifically interested in. I only ask because that'll help me pick a location and a circle. I like to limit the choices a tiny bit. Otherwise we might end up with a glasswalker a red talon, two get of fenrises and a black fury. You'll never get anywhere.

If you manage to get this off the ground let me know, WoD games are very difficult to get dedicated players for. I personally gave up trying. :o

Sexual content's fine, as long as it's not half the writing. Also, given the whole stigma and the consequences of wolf on wolf banging, I reckon the packmembers should feel dissuaded from shacking up together. I realize this leaves things a bit awkward for those wanna do smut and romance, but they'd have to weigh the consequences.

Also, I'm interested in an "impure" Get (race and mostly culture-wise. Passed the trials and knows their supposed duty, but doesn't enjoy all the stereotypical beliefs). That or a Fianna

As discussed with Tam: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=302628.0

I'll be running it, with Tam as one of the players, and of course a guaranteed spot for Rummy if he wishes. Other spots will be chosen by me based on very little really.

I will be passing on that game as I've joined another, but I am very glad it came about because of this thread and that it already has so much interest. I hope y'll have a great time :)
