Question -

As an old school efedder... (some may know that term, others may not :) ) One of the big things that was done was promos....  Will there be promos written prior to the big match up?  If so would that have some form of impact upon modifers as given by the GM prior to the rolls?

For those who don't know what Promos are:

Promos are the hype rp prior to the match.  For example two wrestlers are going up against one another for a no holds barred match, falls count anywhere... Wrestler A goes out into the ring as the face and really pumps up the crowd getting behind them, while putting over the heel.. does what is known as an 'in ring'... Wrestler B the heel decides the fans aren't worth his time so does a video shoot in his locker room, training area etc etc, but really puts over the face as the underdog etc etc, and gets the fans to hate his guts.  Both selling the match.

Would these be utilized for the game, or could they?

Or if anyone needs an example of a promo.. I might have some somewhere...

First of all I'd be happy to have you aboard Rebelle!

Absolutely there should be promos and pre-match builds just like you'd expect to see in other pro-wrestling promotions in the real world. Selling and building towards matches is part of the draw in my opinion.

I think you're onto something there with a modifier for those who take the time to do a promo before their matches. Either building up towards a total modifier in at the PPV or just weekly.

Character Bio:
Servos Araceli is now a retired wrestler, but in his glory days he was one of the top competitors in the world with a strong technical style. He became a seven time world champion while in A.W.E. and won five other world championships in other promotions such as IWGP, NJPW, and ROH(x2). Servos was most known for targeting the strongest part of his opponent's game and trying to neutralize it. Servos was never a stranger to controversy, finding short cuts and other cheap tactics to gain advantages, but what put Servos over the edge was his ability to isolate on focus on a single body part. When all else failed he was almost always accompanied by his wife Sakura Araceli, who had a penchant for causing distractions, and helping her husband to victory. If Sakura wasn't banned from ringside Servos was a incredibly hard superstar to put away. He liked to focus on the strength of his opponents, looking to weaken their finishers and their ability to make a impact in the ring with him. His preferred method of victory was through submission, taking pleasure and forcing his opponent to give up.

When Servos retired he disappeared for a time, until returning to A.W.E. three years later, he aimed to use the wealth he had obtained to take the business from then owner Roderick Reiker. Servos came out retirement for a match at the biggest pay per view of the year caled End Game. In order to win control of the company Servos would have to overcome Roderick Reiker and Randy Orton in a handicap match. In the end and to the shock of everyone in the world except perhaps Servos himself he succeeded and took control of the A.W.E.

Under the guidance of Servos and with the help of his wife Sakura Araceli, The A.W.E. has only grown bigger, not afraid to make decisions fans don't like in order to see the bigger picture. Having a expert eye for talent Servos flooded the brand with some of the most exciting superstars all over the world. Often competing with his wife Sakura to see who could produce the most champions in A.W.E. Servos doesn't often get hands on, but when he is disrespected, or angered he is known to use the full force of his dominion to send a message. In the end he makes sure politics isn't what drives championships, only the best rise in his A.W.E. Either Superstars ascend to heights never before dreamed or they fall off of cloud nine and their bones are stepped over by those that have what it takes.   
Other Facts: Servos wasn't called King until he took control of the company, Servos sometimes comes out of retirement for grudge matches but it hasn't gone as well for him as it used too. Servos was the first ever to win the A.W.E., IWGP, NJPW, and ROH world championships at least once. Has Climbed mount Everest twice.

Character Bio: Dominic Kincaid was a lower card wrestler, traveling the world for several years, learning and gaining experience, but never truly elevating himself beyond the lower to mid-card.  While skilled in the ring, he was seen as bland and most fans didn't care for him, often booing him even though he did everything he could think of to be admired by the crowd.  Finally, Dominic had enough of this and determined that if the crowd wished to boo him, then he would give them plenty of reason to do so.  Adopting a gimmick that would mock religion in all it's forms, he quickly gained notoriety and infamy.  And he found himself slowly rising up the card as his dark new image started to bring to light his talents within the ring, almost as if the new image spurred him to be more creative and vicious in the ring.  He also quickly gained a reputation for refusing to stay down, no matter what he was hit with and he developed a talent for Last Man Standing matches as a result.

Shortly after signing with A.W.E., he suffered an undisclosed injury that has kept him out of action for several months.  However, in recent weeks, promos and video packages indicating that he is ready to return to the ring have been airing.  As for the man himself, he has yet to be seen in the arena's but rumors are that he's been there, silently watching and learning about his possible opponents.  The time for his return is now at hand, however, and with that, no one truly knows just what he'll bring to the table.

Character Bio: Sexual assaulted and left for dead as a teenage girl, Aurora was left without the ability to speak due to her attacker cutting her throat in an attempt to kill her.  The wound damaged her vocal chords to the point that the most she can make is a serious of grunting noises, so she prefers to remain in silence rather than make them.  Driven by what happened to her, she spent the next ten years learning how to fight and defend herself, focusing on little else other than that.  At some point, she found her way into a wrestling event and she found herself enchanted by it.  It seemed a combination of all the different forms of combat that she had studied.  Lacking the ability to speak, she found it difficult to find a regular job and the knowledge that she could turn her skills into a way of earning a living, she sought to do just that, learning the ropes before trying to find a company willing to take her on and finding only A.W.E. willing to give her an opportunity to show that she can compete.  She has yet to make her debut for the company and is a complete unknown at this time.

Character Bio:  From a very early age, Lilith was always looking for a challenge and an adrenaline rush.  While she enjoyed racing, diving, and all sorts of other activities, she found that she got the biggest rush from competition, specifically combat.  However, most combat sports had too many rules and she found that she couldn't truly test herself.  That was until she found wrestling and took to it like a fish to water.  It wasn't long before the WWE picked her up and she was sent into developmental.  And not long after that, she would make her debut and quickly rise through the ranks, even capturing the Women's championship on two occasions.  However, she eventually found herself bored of being limited to strictly facing other women and wanted to test herself against the men.  But the WWE refused to allow it, having taken up a stance against man on woman, or woman on man, violence.  Displeased by this, she would leave the WWE as soon as her contract expired and seek a company that would allow her to indulge in her ambitions.

It wasn't long before she made her way to the A.W.E., drawn by the fact that they would allow her to face the men.  And she found that she faired extremely well, quickly working her way up the ranks into the Main Event scene.  However, despite her skills and her drive, she has yet to actually lay hands on the World A.W.E. Championship, a thing she desires to hold more than anything else as it would validate her belief that women could be just as skilled and successful as the men in the wrestling business.  That said, she also refuses to take any short-cuts on that road, knowing that if she did, then her success would be doubted and mocked by her detractors.  If she is going to succeed, then she's going to do it the hard way.
Other Facts:  Despite her gimmick and nickname implying the use of drugs, she is actually Straight Edge and doesn't drug, smoke, or use any sort of drugs.  She is an adrenaline junkie of the highest order and never misses a chance to do something crazy in order to see if she can pull it off.  This has included base jumping, mountain climbing, surfing, scuba diving, racing motorcycles, and many other things.
