I'll have to go with Gremlins with Raiders of the Lost Ark a close second.

Dead Poets Society was my absolute favourite movie of all time, until Rogue One came along.

Honourable mention to the Fantasy Quartet (Krull, Legend, Labyrinth, Willow).

To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight,
and find that the dark, too, blooms and sings,
and is traveled by dark feet and dark wings.

So many good ones already mentioned above me but to me it has to be Police Story with Jackie Chan.

Day of the Dead (1985) never ceases to amaze me upon each re-viewing. One of the best horror/zombie flicks ever made, even considering its low budget. RIP Joseph Pilato.

Fun-fact: Day of the Dead's iconic synth soundtrack was played in many key scenes of Stranger Things: Season 3, which the creators of that show intended as homage. It's also what made me want to watch it again!
Sex and death. They're different, but the same. To reach that final moment, that climax, you got to give up control - of your body, of your soul. And love? Well, if sex is sweet and death is bitter, love is both. Love will always and forever break your heart.

Lost Boys is my absolute favorite movie from that time. Brings me back to my childhood.

Thanks to some new crap going on, I don't know how I feel about Star wars anymore. The things that I'm always willing to re-watch are Goonies, Labyrinth, The breakfast club, and the Lost boys.

vaudevilleJack

I can't believe no one has said The Thing yet!! And also Transformers the Movie mostly because of the soundtrack and animation.

I can't believe I forgot about The Thing! The 80s just had so much good entertainment. Especially the campy horror movies.

And yes, vaudevilleJack, the original Transformers The Movie was awesome.

Hmmm, really tough choice, but for me I would have to say Purple Rain (1984).

Some honorable mentions are Flashdance, Highlander, Ghoulies, Three Amigos, and See No Evil, Hear No Evil

My favorite 80s movie would probably be Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I wasn’t born until after it was release, but it was probably one of my faves to watch as a kid.

Beetlejuice was probably a close second. Another classic I loved watching as a kid.

Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Last Crusade
